We still have a chance to win this year's title.

If we would be able to win the UAAP title this year and win the league of champions, that would make it as 6 titles for Jvee as a Green Archer. That would equal his jersey number which is 6. Just like Ren Ren Ritualo.

It was indeed a tough one for us yesterday against Ateneo. This year, it was 0-2 for us against Ateneo. But somehow, I still believe that we will defend our championship.

Yesterday's loss was indeed a tough one to watch. But then again, we're going to see Ateneo again in the Finals. And this is one thing to look forward to... KEEPING THE FAITH yet again for the Green Archers.

ANIMO LA SALLE. Let's just beat FEU first this coming Thursday to get the twice-to-beat advantage. Then, we can go and look forward to a much-needed Ateneo-La Salle finals. (which means working people may need to file for leaves from work or be absent to watch the game. :)

I wasn't able to watch the whole game. I started watching during the 4th quarter when we had a 15 point lead. Even though we won, it's kind of frustrating how FEU almost pushed the game to overtime.

Bader is the typical hit or miss player, just as iLoveYu mentioned, but as I've said before, Bader could turn out to be one hell of a player when he develops further. The UE killer and the Tiu stopper, his name is Bader :D

Looking at our current players, Atkins,Bader,Barua (yes PJ Barua) and Mau show a lot of promise. With these players, Post-Casio era wouldn't be a problem

Most of you are right. I find so much potential in these guys:
Villanueva, Atkins, Mangahas, Barua, Malabes and even Revilla.

I think they are in the making of being really good in their positions. But improving as early as next year will be a great help to the team especially Casio is leaving soon.

Coach Franz has a way of picking players who fit his system and not necessarily really great individually (although it would help). Sa system ni Coach, dapat kunin niya yung "coach-able"

I'm so nervous come Thursday but I have the biggest faith in our team. Seeing how we finished very strong against FEU, I know the experience will most certainly come in handy.

Might versus Experience.

I don't mind if people count us out for the championship. What's important is that the team shows up strong on the finals and hopefully finish strong.

I don't think we'll have a problem with HEART. Time has tested ours and I know it can make us win.

Scenario: Right after Baracael missed his second free throw, a DLSU player grabs the rebound and gets fouled. Camera switches to the DLSU bench where we can clearly see LA Revilla make hand motions mimicking someone shooting a gun.

In basketball, we see some players do this when they get hot from outside or right after someone drains a long shot, usually a three. but i can't find any excuse why someone on the bench would do that hand gesture.

IF indeed he made that gesture on baracael to make fun of him because he missed the free throws, this would be much, much worse compared to what manny salgado did to arwind santos. for god's sake, someone almost lost his life and you make fun of it? people do a lot of stupid things on the court, but this one is simply unacceptable. i think DLSU must do their part to reprimand or discipline LA Revilla.

Basing from their first two games, I sure do hope the Archers either find a way to score inside and prevent the Ateneo from getting their inside points, or at least capitalize on their perimeter to mid-range game.

DLSU has a lot of heart but I think it will be (should be) someone from the bench who will make the difference (because La Salle wins championships when someone unheralded suddenly does wonders)...

malakas lang talaga ateneo, pound for pound panalo eagles and wala kasi silang go to guy. i thought marcy arellano was going to be their superstar, but it turned out to be a disappointment. their players are in the mold of support players or simply just lacking experience. no one steps up to stabilize the game and calms down their teammates if the games getting out of hand unlike La Salle who has Casio and Tiu for Ateneo. lets give dindo credit for turning these guys into contenders. like last year, who would have expected UE to sweep the season. it was just unlucky that they got swept by our dear Archers at the finals for various reasons of course. i would like to see dindo next year with the right pieces to really contend for a title. they do have promising players like raffy reyes and paul zamar, but then again, who's gonna be their go-to-guy?

Course Description

The course introduces the student-cheerer to the dynamics and principles of the Ateneo-La Salle rivalry. The course employs both theoretical and application dimensions. The theoretical phase exposes the student to the history of the rivalry, the tradition of cheering, the construction of the ideal Atenean 6th Man, and other theoretical concepts.

The application phase on the other hand requires the student to put into practice all the theoretical principles. These practices include, among others: effective skills in lining up for the games, cheering (pre-game, during the game, half-time and post-game), jeering, heckling, creating effective posters and banners for one's favorite players and posing and smiling for Fabilioh.com.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, the student should have been able to:

• understand what it means to be the Sixth Man
• understand the difference between an Atenean and La Sallite
• integrate himself with the community of believers
• develop his school spirit

Course Requirements

Written Long Test: This will assess your memorization of the tradition and history of the Ateneo-La Salle rivalry. The test consists of itemized Multiple Choice questions and True or False statements.

Oral Exam: The student will randomly draw two cheers from a lot. The student must cheer/sing the cheers he picked. Afterwards, he must be able to explain the significance of the cheer/song. He must also be able to identify when these cheers/songs are used.

Practical Exam: The student must line up for tickets. This is a pass or fail exam. If the student is able to acquire a ticket, he automatically gets an A. If he doesn't get any ticket, he must take the Make-Up Test.

Make-up Test: Negotiating with Scalpers. Students who wish to pass the first practical exam for the course but failed to do so must take the Make-Up test. The student must locate a scalper within the vicinity of Araneta Coliseum. This is not a pass or fail test. The student's grade depends on how he was able to acquire a good ticket with the lowest possible price. The better the ticket with lower ticket price, the higher the grade.

Final Exam: Students are required to cheer during the game. The grade depends on the voice quality and frequency of the cheering. The Ateneo standard grading system will be applied. Therefore the passing score for the Final Exam is 70%. Students who cannot stand up and cheer 70% of the time automatically fail the exam.

Bonus points are given to students who are able to convince others to cheer loudly, either through a well-articulated speech or forceful coercion. Extra points are also awarded to fans who make creative banners for their favorite players.

Written Long Test: 20%
Oral Exam: 20%
Practical Exam: 20%
Final Exam: 40%

Course Policies and Other Reminders

1. Plagiarism. Plagiarism is an extreme offense in this school. Do not copy cheers from other schools.
2. Cellphone Use. Using your cellphone to place in bets is illegal. Do not get yourself into trouble.
3. Cuts. Once you are inside Araneta, you are not allowed to leave. You must watch all four quarters. Win or lose, you are not allowed to leave before the Song for Mary is sung. Doing so merits an automatic W for the course.

And I assure you, there are A LOT of people here. My friends who are already inside are saying there's even more people there.

I've been reading all the newspaper. Grabe and Ateneo - La Salle write ups. As in in your face ang laki. Anyway, all odds are against us fellow Archers. But I do believe in destiny and how the world conspires to put things in the place they should be. I was there nung natalo tayo 2005 sa FEU. I was there when we won against UE. Both of those times, I trusted destiny.

But I do believe that this season, it's OURS for the taking.
Odds are just odds. But destiny? It's something bigger.

our team was doing great until about the last 2 minutes of the 2nd quarter. tiu, rabeh, and the rest of the ateneo team were effectively contained. our traps were forcing the turnovers, and their big men just couldn't dominate. u could see the fire in the eyes of our boys. and then we led by 3. after that point, ateneo's scoring run slowly crept in. what happened? did we actually become complascent?

our team should sustain that initial level of play in game 2 if we are to retain our championship trophy. and as the ex-senator said, more players have to step up to the plate and assist jv and rico in the scoring department. daming turnovers but they don't lead to conversions. sayang!
