Do we have any seminarians or ex-seminarians here? How is your education in your seminary?

Can you still join if you're 20 and above?
Have always wanted to give priesthood a try...but not now...habang puno pa rin ako ng katarantaduhan...

Yes, definitely. Seminaries actually recommend that a student finishes college first, unless you're really certain about your vocation. Most seminaries have an age limit of 30-35 for college graduates but the Society of St. Paul (yung naghahandle ng St. Paul's Publications) accept only until 26 yata.

If you want to be a diocesan priest, you can go to Our Lady of Guadalupe Minor Seminary (for high school level), the San Carlos Major Seminary (for collegiate level) and the Holy Apostle Senior Seminary (HASS) for college graduates and professionals.
The age limit of HASS for admission is 40. For me, I believe that setting an age limit is somehow relative as long as the candidate is able to meet all the requirements in entering the priesthood.

D'saintofa***** et al,
From what batch of OLGMS are you? Sinong Rector at formators during your time? Fr. Jovy M? Fr. Dennis O? Fr. Rico G? Fr. Nonette L? Fr. Gabby P? Are you still studying? What course? Ben Carlos is only my code name (I'm sorry). Siguradong hindi mo ako kilala.
I didn't mention Lorenzo Mission Institute (LMI) since it is exclusively for Chinese. Anyway for the benefit of those who read this thread, for those Chinese males who have a calling, you may inquire to that seminary. All the seminaries I mentioned is in one compound of the San Carlos Pastoral Formation Complex at EDSA Guadalupe, Makati City. Except for OLGMS, it is adjacent to Loyola Memorial Chapels.
As far as I know, there are other diocesan seminaries here in Metro Manila: the Central Seminary at U.S.T., the San Jose Major Seminary at the Ateneo de Manila University campus, and the Saint Joseph Formation House (near East Avenue, Q.C.). However, they are regional seminaries which means their students or seminarians came different provinces or regions that generally do not have major seminaries. Although, they also have students from Metro Manila or Archdiocese of Manila.
Yes, I came from San Carlos Seminary and have been there for two years, Juniorate in particular. In fact, I am a two-timer "ex-con". I also came from a Religious Order whose postulancy (where I stayed for only 4 months) is somewhere in the Visayas. I finished my college in a Catholic school runned by the religious friars in Manila. As a matter of fact, I almost entered in their Order prior to my formation in SCS. Right now, I am a college instructor in one of the prestigious colleges here in Manila. If you want, you can email me at jrmanalo@hotmail.com for "usapang seminarista" only.
Tungkol naman sa education, sa next surfing ko na lang. Buti na lang, may matino-tino na thread dito.

To all ex-seminarians out there, there is an organization launched for more than a year now. It is called the Association of Former Seminarians & Friends, Inc.
The Spiritual Director of the said group is Msgr. Soc Villegas. The members are now working to establish network and to make the Shrine of Our Lady of Peace (EDSA Shrine) its homebase. Chech it out.
Should you be interested, you may send an email to jrmanalo@hotmail.com. Please don't send any foolish things I beg of you.
