Here's the latest comptetitor to the Asus 3e PC: The DEEP BLUE H1

http://ilikeblue.net/products/umpc.htm

Processor: VIA Esther 1.0 GHz
Memory: 1GB DDR2
Video: 7.0-inch Wide TFT, WXGA (800x480)
Harddisk: 40GB Mobile
Audio: Built-in speakers
Ports: 2 x USB 2.0
LAN: 10/100Mbps
Wi-Fi: 802.11b/g Wireless LAN
Weight: 1.20 kg.
Bundled OS: Linux (Microsoft Windows XP Home optional)
Features: Card reader, Web camera, Touch pad with left & right buttons, Up to 4½ hours battery life
SRP: P16,995

* With a 1 Ghz Processor & 40GB HDD, it seems to better than the 3e PC in terms of specs

* I'm a bit skeptical, though, since they have NOT released ANY high quality pics of the unit. I searched the net, & I have found only 1 small picture from the front of the unit.

A bit too late... since Asus just released the EEE PC 900 and HP, the mini note.

^^^
The problem w/ the 3e PC w/ 9" screen, is the price.

I think there is a big market there for a 3e PC w/ 7" screen-type of PC, its just a question of price, & maybe storage space.

The 3e PC was supposed to cost only $200, & yet ending up costing $400, twice its promised price, hence some disillusionment from those like me who were pretty excited w/ it when it was first announced.

The 3e PC w/ 7" screen, for example, would be superior I feel to PDA devices. It has a bigger screen than those PDA devices, plus a built in keyboard, easier to type to.
