The exam's set to start at 1 p.m., but the organizers are asking people to show up at 12:30 for a briefing. Towbac and I will be taking the exam. Any other PExers taking it?

... I don't really know why but I haven't heard good things about the local MENSA ;)
... or it could be my bias. I sorta look at these things as "flaunting" your intelligence. If you want to do intellectual things, you can seek out peers and people you want to work with you without having the pretense of "being smart enough." No?

Towbac, Laconic and I took the test. We found it pretty interesting, but rather tiring. :) I was the tall guy in a checkered shirt and green pants; Towbac was in a faded red shirt and big blue jeans; Laconic was the big guy in a blue shirt and jeans. Who else was there? How do you guys think you did? :)

I took the test and was part of the 2:00 batch. The test was ok, but I found the last three questions to be relatively difficult. To all who took it, what can you say about the test?

I'm just wondering, if you've already taken the exam before, do you have to take it again?

daylight - not unless you failed. If you did, you may only take the test again after six months - well according to the guy who gave the briefing.
zimdude - you have a point. I was a bit unsure about taking the test myself because I don't really need to be a part of an organization for "intelligent" people so I can be identified as one. But I took the test just the same, only because I wanted to find out how the test was going to be like. And it was quite interesting. The last few questions were difficult though. Heck, am not even sure if I would pass the test. If I don't, then I guess that's P400 down the ditch. But at least am not going end up wondering how the test was like.
I think that to be part of an organization like MENSA would not necessarily mean "flaunting" your intelligence. Further, one shouldn't really pretend to be smart. It's either you are or you aren't. However, if anyone joins an organization such as this for whim, or because it would presumably define him/her as a person, then I think that's pitiful.

I actually passed... :nerd: the thing is, do they keep it in record for let's say, 2 years? 'coz I took it in 1998 so well... whatever!
