gosh i was jumping and close to crying yesterday huhuhuhu adamson won in an amazing come from behind victory..i couldnt believe it...after losing the first two sets, i thought the lady falcons had simply gave up.....

and yes plankton, i was toggling between channels also, my mamang had to husshhh me for i was screaming for every point lost and gained......


come 5th set, and the score was 5-0 for adu...i could already smell the victory...was close to crying......

to answer cafranca's actions...segodine, whom i adore , strutted around the court after scoring a point. this really irked feu fans and booooooeeed segodine for every serve she delivered for the rest of the game she seemed unaffected by the crowd anyway i love her attitude

She had a few errors last time -- and good that Laguilles and Benting and Gata stepped up big time. But Segodine made FEU pay for their poor defense. Muntik-muntikan nang tamaan si Taganas sa mukha dahil sa lakas ng palo niya.

I still stand by my previous analysis. If anyone in this Lady Falcons who can make their dream come true -- to get their first ever championship -- it should be Segodine that would do it for her team, with the able support of Laguilles, Benting and Gata.

If at all, she should be training for the national team ASAP.

this was your best chance to get your first women's volleyball crown. bumigay lang talaga kayo nu'ng last two sets.

the next season, in my opinion, will be adu's rebuilding year. sino papalit kay so at serafica? mali rin diskarte ni coach pante. dapat 'yung mga ipapalit niya kina so at serafica, pinaglaro niya man lang kahit saglit against the also-rans like nu, up and ue. pero meron pa namang v-league eh. we'll just see.

haaay.... sad day for adamson. this will probably stay with them for a while. syempre, parang shoo-in na sila to be
the champion since they were a problem that feu cannot solve sa elims, playoffs hanggang game one ng finals.
errors did it this time for them. there's the spirit naman. lumalaban talaga sila. it's not that they were nervous...
but just seems too overeager which manifested in the service errors and the attacks. segodine was having the time
of her life, which could have been really memorable if she was able to contribute in the production department.
i can't think of anyone who have been consistent for them in this game. i can't even remember sang doing very
much too. points were distributed and so were the errors. even gata who i really admire was having problems with
her digs, if not reception.

Segodine is having the time of her life with the second place trophy.

Congratulations to Adamson Lady Falcons. We're the underdogs from day 1 but we really proved that we belong to the country's finest volleyball clubs.

Segodine in season 70 lineup was already a gift to us. She encountered personal problems before the start of the season and it was really a surprise to see her suiting up and almost winning the championship.

Thanks to Adamsonians and non-Adamsonians who cheered for our victories and wept in our losses. ;)

benting: WOW! yan ang sabi ng mga barkada habang nanonood kami ng finals sa tv, most of them are from feu and other uaap school, pero sabi nila ikaw daw ang pinakamalupit na players nung finals, lupit ng mga hit!

i have said my piece in the previous page and read the take of various posters, pero i think some of them are too harsh naman. in praising and congratulating feu, parang it seems that feu manhandled adamson... and nothing could be farther from the truth. not to take away anything from feu, the breaks really favored them this time. both teams played superbly and the breaks of the game did it for them. they scored when it mattered most, while adamson committed their errors at crucial points in the game. but even as the matchpoint was sort of a "gimme", still they didn't hand the trophy over in a silver platter. they earned it the hard way, and for that they deserve it... but AdU did prove they are a worthy opponent and also deserve their place in the championship.

yes indeed.. this is one of the most intense final of wvt...kahit nakakairita si segodine somehow i appreciate her.. she adds beauty to the game.. yung asaran nila is normal kasi mga bata pa yan e...full of adrenaline pa... its either you love or hate segodine.. when ust was eliminated i thought this final will not be as good as last year but adamson girls proved me wrong they played with depth and determination it just happened that they faltered when they need not be... again congratulations! you earned my respect and admiration... tata!

My analysis held up. The series went down the wire. And sad to say, Adamson choked so they lost.

Okay. It's been three days after the championships and I'm pretty sure that some of the AdU girls have already moved on. But probably some are still in the process of moving on, still grieving and lamenting the fact that the championship was theirs for the taking but they let it slip them by.

I'll try to analyze Adamson's side of the equation, hopefully, as objective as possible. In so doing, it's just a post-game analysis. A first runner-up finish is still very good. There's nothing to be ashamed of really, even though they did not win it all the way.

I had seen FEU and Adamson play at the V-League before. One time, I caught them playing for the 5th set, and Adamson won that one. My take on the matter is that Adamson plays its best when NOT pressured, that is, when everything DOESN'T lay on the line.

I'm hugely disappointed with how Serafica played the last two sets. Maybe, this is a problem that Adamson's coaching staff needs to address. Serafica did not have the luxury of sitting on the bench to relax even for a minute or two. When the season is about to end with a five-setter, I thought the coach should have provided the setter at least a breather so the latter could regroup and rethink the team's distinct strategy how to fight off the opponents that's gaining on you. The problem was that Serafica's setting became predictable, and FEU just waited to pounce on Adamson. Serafica's setting was way off especially during the 5th set when she seemed to be at a loss what to do with her teammates. She still went for her drop shots even if these were already being blocked by FEU.

Serafica choked big time.

Laguilles was connecting until the middle part of the 4th set. But after this, fatigue -- and probably the specter of holding that trophy must already be playing on her mind -- must have caught up with her. Her "puzzle" was finally solved by Morada et al who effectively blocked her during that decisive 4th set. The weakness that I saw in her game had something to do with the lack of variation in her quick attacks. Time and again, she did the same thing. When FEU finally put up the wall, there was no way for her but to go down.

Laguilles luckily did not choke. But her mental game did not hold.

Benting played for both placement and power. I would have to give it to her that she stuck with her game plan -- trying to hit either down the line or diagonally. Sometimes, she was successful, but during the more crucial moments of the game, she missed. Again, it was Serafica's call to make her spikers work. She set to Benting but unfortunately Benting did not deliver during the latter stages of the game.

Benting should be trusting herself more. She's got talent and potential. It's really up to her to prove her critics wrong.

Segodine's performance was roller-coaster-like. She was very inconsistent with her serving and her attacks. However, I appreciated her no-nonsense attitude to the game: you win some, you lose some. But Segodine did lay everything on the line for her team. That was pretty evident during the latter stages of the game. Unfortunately, it was Serafica's own doing again that Segodine had difficulty getting to the ball. That's why Segodine missed a few crucial hits.

Segodine couldn't have done things better. That's all she could do.

And now, officially the choker of the game, Gustilo.

It would be unfair for fans to pinpoint Gustilo as the culprit behind AdU's infamous loss. However, it is a fact now that Gustilo failed to rise to the occasion. Her errors cost Adamson important points in the final stages of the game. I was just thinking, "Oh! The bad memory of the 2nd game was haunting her!"

Alongside with Serafica, Gustilo choked big time.

Jackie So did not figure much again in the game. Except for her serves during the 1st set and the occasional dink balls, she was largely a non-factor during the game. So I can't say much about So.

For me, the only player from AdU who rose to the occasion is Lizlee Gata. It seemed to me that she singlehandedly took the cudgels for Adamson. She was all over the place. While she didn't get everything FEU threw at her, she did her best to get to the ball, and more. She also looked stunning with her white uniform. Too bad, Gata's enthusiasm and respect for her team fell short.

Now for the lessons awaiting to be learned: I'm sure the team has learned its lesson and is now raring to fast forward to the V-League. Overall, I hope that they don't get discouraged. But they should always remember that the bigger picture is the outcome of what happens in between. During crucial moments of the game, they need to address the small things first and not be distracted. Then, they should let nature take its course, right? When the time comes that they're going to take home their first-ever championship trophy, they just have to be prepared because they'll know it's time.

Until then, they just need to be pushing themselves toward greater heights. ;)

angela benting,sang laguilles,chelle segodine and jill gustillo delivered some emphatic spikes..that won't happen without the playmaker, janet serafica, she really proved that she is the best setter..and how can i forget, the deep digs, perfect anticipation and catch in every strong spike from the opponent, the best libero, and my personal crush among the lady falcs:love: heheh, lizlee gata...every serve of hiponia that halted every momentum of the opponent<unfortunately she was bothered by the feu crowd in her very last serve>..and of course, the motivation that cheered up not only the players but also every adamsonian that has seen how she coaches our ladies, coach dulce pante and also with the help of the rest of the bench..

Ginagawang training ground ng Lady Falcons ang V-League para sa UAAP.

Remember, they just finished fourth on the last conference but vastly improved their skills last UAAP.

Mas maganda sana kung yung mga legitimate players ang bigyan ng focus ng mga teams ba mahilig gumamit ng Thais sa V-League. Tutal iiwan rin naman sila ng mga yun pagdating ng UAAP.
