teacher evaluation

how you work

how you deal with students
how you deal with your co teachers/ parents
how you handle the class
how you imporve yourself in terms of the chosen career

Yes it is important. Because you need to know your strength and weaknesses. mas magiging mahusay kang guro kapag alam mo ang mga yan...self awareness is vital in any profession.

There are five main kinds of performance evaluation used for teachers in SUCs:
1. Self-evaluation - quite self-explanatory; the teacher evaluates self based on criteria provided by CHEd
2. Peer evaluation - same criteria as #1, but fellow teachers do the evaluating
3. Student evaluation - students evaluate the teaching performance of teachers using criteria from CHEd
4. Chair/Dean's evaluation - immediate superior/s evaluate teaching performance; done usually through unannounced classroom observations (can be done in tandem or separately)
5. Research/Output - usually for teachers in assistant professorial levels and above; deals with the scholarly output of the teacher (research, papers, seminars attended, even extension and production activities)

I am not familiar with how private schools (primary to tertiary) conduct theirs. As for public schools, I am not familiar with the tools utilized by DepEd.

Hope this helped.
