View Full Version : January 2008 Civil Engineer Licensure Examination (Retake)

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 1,342 out of 3,263 passed the retake Civil Engineer Licensure Examination given by the Board of Civil Engineering in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi and Tacloban this January 2008.

The members of the Board of Civil Engineering are Dr. Angel L. Lazaro III, Chairman; Engr. Apollo S. Enriquez and Engr. Roberto P. Bernardomembers.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Monday, January 21, 2008 but not later than February 5, 2008. Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag), 1 piece 1” x 1” picture (colored with white background and complete nametag), 2 sets of metered documentary stamps, and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession; and to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2008-2011. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees in the said examination as well as the previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be held before the Board on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at 1:30 in the afternoon at the Manila Hotel, One Rizal Park, Manila.

Registration for membership with the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc. will start on Monday, January 21, 2008.

The top performing schools (with 10 or more examinees) in the January 2008 Civil Engineer Licensure Examination are the following:

2 Ateneo de Naga 14/17 82.00%
3 University of Santo Tomas 51/64 80.00%
Isabela State University-Ilagan 8/10 80.00%

sa inquirer.net they used to post all the schools' performances pero ngayon alphabetical list na lang ng passers ang ipinopost nila...i wish they could bring back the old format....

I also passed the engineering board required of me. Hindi naman sa pagmamayabang pero kung unutusan akon ng PRC na magre-take, sasabihin ko, "Call! Yung lang pala, eh." Then I'll say, "If I pass again, you'll pay me the months of work pay I lost, all because you doubted my first exam. Either that or, sell me your car for one Peso!"

question: updil 4/4? i would assume only 4 took the retake. is this the same number as those who took the november exam? during our batch (nov 2003) madami kami. 41 of us took the exam....baka typo.. hehehe

bat 4 lang.. ang konti masyado.

what happened kaya? siguro sa school, thesis i guess? in our batch, 26 of us graduated on time (plus yung mga delayed) so marami kaming nag board exam. pero yung 4 examinees.... woah... anyway, sige, 4 kung 4! hahahahah.

dami d nagtake so the 41% passing is not accurate...dami nag boycott...at isa ako dun sa mapuans na pumasa ng boards...pero sad...kung nov result *** ginamit dami sana happy kasi dami pasado...basic kasi nabigay nila

Hindi naman kasi dapat minamadali ang Engineering eh, dapat yan pinagaaralan ng 5 taon o mahigit pa, 2 semesters a year para mabigyan ng panahon ang utak makapagpahinga.

Anong silbi kung maagang makatapos ng Engineering, pagdating naman sa board exam mas marami pa ang lagapak. Wala rin!

Hindi lang naman board exam basehan ng pagiging magaling na Engineer. Sa mga bumagsak, take lang ulit. Wala naman mawawala sa inyo. Pag dating sa work, lalo na sa Engineering firms, ang daming Mapuans. Wag mawalan ng pag-asa.

Dapat kasi nag-aral na lang sila sa ibang eskwelahan na 5 taon tinuturo ang Engineering. Ganun din kasi ang itatagal bago magkalisensya kung kulang apat na taon nga ang Bachelor's degree pero repeater naman sa board exam na idadaan lang sa Review Centers ang kaalaman sa Engineering. Sayang lang ang gastos.

maganda naman ang quarter system and isa ako sa mga pioneer nito. 2002 ako nag-aral and I graduated last august 2006. I took the board exam last November 2006 and passed.

Problem lang kasi sa mapua is student selectivity. Yung iba kick-out na nakakapag-appeal pa rin.Di rin masyadong nafifilter ang students ( di tulad ng ibang skul na todo filter ang mga student). Di tulad noon na mapua pa talaga ang may-ari na sobrang higpit talaga.

Pero pagdating naman sa magagaling na professor, state of the art facilities sa tinging ko naman eh malaki pa rin ang angat ng mapua sa ibang paaralan.

Tsaka panapanahon lang yan. Kung kami dati ang the best sa engineering sige ngayon kayo naman.

Congrats sa dalawang nagtop. You make the CE department proud.
Sa mga di pinalad, bawi na lang kayo sa susunod.

Ako din product ng quarterm. Naging advantage din siya sakin, mas mabilis ako naka graduate at ngayon one year na nag wowork sa engineering firm. 2002 pumasok ng college, 2006 graduate.

Depende din kasi minsan sa etudyante yan. Facilities at mga faculty, wala akong reklamo.

kahit naman mabilis ang dating ng quarterm, okay lang sa akin. kasi sa field ka naman talaga matututo eh. hindi din naman ibig sabihin na kahit 4 years lang ay naging Engineer na kami, kulang na ang natutunan namin na theories/principles sa field namin. Nasa tao lang talaga yan.

*** cousin ko kasi *** sa list ng passers sa net but nakuha nya letter just now, and passed naman ang status nya dun.. his average is 77 and no subjects below 50. Sino pwede icontact para iclear up itong mixup?

^PRC... nagbibigay ba ng letter? sa PRC kasi directly kinukuha yung grades alam ko. nakahinayang lang sa part niya na kahit pasado siya, wala siyang remembrance na nandun name niya sa diyaryo. joke lang.hehe

eto yung letter na galing mismo ng prc? pasado nga siya. minsan kasi, may errors din sa net/newspapers kaya di nasama yun name ng pinsan mo. of course, prc pa rin ang official result.
