Help guys!

I work for a corporation who is now in talks with Yehey! to develop something on-line. The boss of that project thinks WE NEED THEM. Personally, I think THEY NEED US kasi Yehey! is no longer that great anymore (if ever they were).

And so, I am personally trying to change management decision. After all, that is part of my purview naman din. Can you guys help me out? Any hard data/facts that can be worth mentioning? Moreover, any suggestions on other web companies to approach, etc.?

You could have Yehey disclose info such as site hits, demographics, etc. though your relationship with them. See whether working with them will be worth your company's effort.

Personally, I think Yehey is a pathetic excuse of a website whose only purpose is to sell ad space, not necessarily to provide service to the consumer. If you performed a search on there, it'll actually give you results from Google which is then littered to the brim with their own ads.

Hey BizMag and everyone on this thread!

First off let me lay this out on the table--I work for Yehey! Corporation and have been around for a few years (since 2002 I believe) so at least off the bat, you guys know where my bias or loyalty lies.

But, that bias and loyalty is not without a firm grounding.

To help you out with your inquiries (with regards to hard data and facts as well as anything that can be worth mentioning) let me begin by tossing in a few points--minus the PR sugarcoat. Anyway, if you don't believe any of these things I lay down here, you can always just choose to ignore it or verify them by checking out other reputable Pinoy bloggers. If you need names and links I can always PM them to you for your research.

First of all, Yehey.com is only one part of the Yehey! Corporate machine. In fact, we've already taken steps to introduce Yehey! Corp into the stock market (a move which began with the introduction of Yehey's new CEO, Donald Lim) and pretty soon you can start looking at purchasing Yehey stock.

So again Yehey.com--the portal and search engine--is one part of what we do. Because of our extensive 10 years experience in the web business, we started offering online marketing solutions to our clients. What this means is, we do not only sell ad space (as is the standard with most websites---place your ad here, etc etc... you can see a few on this page alone) we sell a complete online solution for your brand.

Think of us as your online ad agency--we let you know if you need a new website or if the one you have is fine, we assist you in advertising at the right place--we don't just advertise with Yehey.com, we have ad spaces in Friendster, Yahoo and even Google ad words, and yes even with possible competitors like PeX, ClicktheCity, and more.

It doesn't end there. We also help you devise a proper online campaign, whether you need additional features for your site, like adding a community, creating an interactive section with games and downloads, viral marketing and SEO, even aiding in promotions through blog networks. Heck we even offer mobile solutions and we can even create a complete offline campaign in the form of magazine ads, event collaterals and more.

In short, Yehey.com is the website that began it all. Yehey! Corporation is making the move in the industry. Now you see ABS CBN Interactive, GMA Interactive and even Yahoo coming in to Philippine shores for a share in the industry--but we're the only ones who have been doing this for 10 years and more. We're the best at what we do because we've had 10 years of trial and error with Yehey.com--the website--and we're still learning until now!

Apparently, Yehey's still on beta.

Apparently, Yehey changed its name to Yehey beta. :bop:

And what's with the beta?

Someone commented that "Yehey is still in Beta". Hey it's true! I mean so is Google, so is the new Yahoo... everything is in beta! Why? Because with the fast paced world of the web, a startup like YouTube can overtake even the biggest of the web giants just like that--which goes to show that you should forever be improving your product. ;)

:naughty:

Now, to help you with actual numbers--and this I'm not covering in flowery words or verse--we have one of the largest, most up to date user databases in the Philippines: right now we have about 40K + registered current users--current meaning they have returned or have logged in at least once in the past month.

True in terms of pageviews we have dropped from our Top 5 spot in Alexa to somewhere in the 10s... but since 2000 we've consistently been in the top 10. And don't get me started on the... "reliability" of Alexa numbers. Hehe. Google Pagerank for Yehey has always been above 6 or 7 and is rising steadily now that we've started our SEO initiatives.

And for the near future, like plans for 2008? Expect Yehey.com the site to go back to its search roots, totally changing how portals should operate and how communities should flourish.

Some of the web projects we've done recently? The new corporate Chowking Website, which won in the Boomerang awards in 2007, as well as the Experience Philippines website made in tandem with Euro RSCG and the DOT, which was tailor made for Pinoys abroad to entice them to come back to the Philippines (this site also won an award in the Boomerand Awards).

Right now we're doing so many things in terms of online solutions: from university websites (we're actually doing the school and university website for one of the top universities in the Philippines) to communities (we've been in production for more than a year for a new interactive online community) and promos (we're doing the web and interactive component for a very popular snack brand right now--who is actively and aggressively promoting on broadcast and cable channels like Myx and MTV) and so much more!

check the history of ustexchange.com<- the site is now owned by yehey or turned over to yehey.

it was nice before when it started.

do what you think is right.

And to answer that other comment on the ustexchange site, well, we didn't buy the site. The owner of the site is still the same--what we did was set up a very fruitful and mutually beneficial partnership with them, so now we host their site for free in exchange for leads, traffic and so on. In fact, we host a lot of other community sites and fora (or forums if you will) as well as tons of other websites.

Whew!

Anyway sorry if it's a long *** reply, haha. But like I said earlier, if your reading reaches this point, then I've done my job. If not, then everyone is entitled to their opinion. I've always had mine about our own site and to tell you the truth, my opinion has always been--it can be better.

So hope that helps BizMan! Maybe next time the dudes from Yehey come over, you can sit in and see for yourself what it is we've done. Anyway, the most probable reason for your meet was to see how we could come up with a mutually beneficial partnership. Hope you don't close your doors on us just based on previous notions or opinion.

Remember, Yehey.com is just one part of Yehey! Corp. Yehey! Corporation however, can arguably be the leading online solutions company in the Philippines to date.

But that's just my opinion.

Mga "did you know" kumbaga. Hehe.

Did you know:

Yehey has an MRT/LRT Guide, para sa mga nawawala or hindi sure kung saan ang baba pag pupunta kang Vito Cruz galing ng Cubao, etc.
Interactive pa sya kaya kita mo yung daanan. http://www.yehey.com/mlrt/

Nilagay namin dyan minsan... "Yehey!... hindi kami Yahoo!" Refresh mo yung front page, tignan mo nag-iiba iba yung tagline. =P

For registered users, you get points or what we call "bretas" for every page you visit sa Yehey, for posting sa message boards, for voting sa poll etc etc. The more points you get the more items you can take home from here: http://www.yehey.com/promohub
Minsan namimigay kami ng DVD, libreng SM Cinema tickets, tshirts, flash drive, etc.

You can search for news on any topic using Yehey News Search. We're the only local website that does an index of all local news... so kung gusto mo maging updated kunwari sa mga nangyayaring gulo kay Trillanes sa Makati, search mo lang sa Yehey News Search (click the News Tab po) and presto! Sorted by date pa.

Meron kaming mga original na photo feature na wala sa ibang website, featuring local brands and restos and places or events of interest. http://www.yehey.com/PhotoSpecialsHub/ (http://www.yehey.com/PhotoSpecialsHub/default.aspx)

Malapit na ang Chinese New Year. Want to know kung swerte ka this 2008? Meron kaming Fortune Calendar... aliw! http://www.yehey.com/fortune2007/

Yehey Finance is the one of the top local finance websites in the Philippines.

At marami pang iba! Hehe... kakapagod mag-PR!

Kung gusto nyo pa po mag-comment sa akin or sulatan ako or murahin ako lol, punta na lang kayo sa blog ko at http://www.tarugoman.net. Hirap makipag-usap dito palaging server too busy eh. Sensya na po!

TARUGOMAN: Even if, Yehey! still sucks. More than a website pala sila e nobody knows. Moreover, that "we're more than a website claim" is just a lame explanation to why their website doesn't rock. They began as a website. If Yehey! is any good as a website, they shouldn't have to look further for other cash cows. I mean, Google is everywhere, but search is still king. :)
