I would like to know your opinions with regards of choosing a good school for Physical Therapy?
Actually pinagpipilian ko ang UERMMMC or UST, but sabi ng father ko hindi daw tumatanggap ng transferee's ang UST, uulitin daw lahat ng subjects kahit na take up ko na,.... totoo ba yon?
Kayo guys ano opinion niyo? may ibang school paba na ok sa Physical Therapy?
Thanks :)

the UST rule of not accepting transferees is not always followed. If you have very good grades there would be no reason the college would not accept you. Different policies exist for different colleges. My advice is if you are a PT student seeking a transfer, talk to the Dean herself. Show the college that you are worth taking in. If you really want to transfer, taking in an additional year might not be as long as you think. I doubt you will be asked to repeat the minor subjects like english and filipino.

They have a very strict rule in the Science courses, especially to the CRS BSPT program. I suggest that you follow Tjmd's suggestion, talk to the Dean personally. That is if the obstacles (secretaries and technicians) in the office would allow you to even enter the office of the Dean itself. Sometimes kasi yung mga secretary no lang ng no.
When I was about to shift course from a science course to the other, i was then choosing among advertising arts, business administration, ece, and architecture. So firstly I went to the Fine Arts office to check their requirement for shifters. The secretary told me that I can't shift anymore because the shifter's test is over and CFAD is already closed. So I went to the College of Commerce just to check, the secretary also told me that Commerce doesn't accept shifters. So I went to Engineering, the secretary told me that atleast I need an average of 1.75 to be admitted to the ECE program, so when I landed at the Archi office, the technician told me that as long as I have no failed grades I can take the shifter's test for admission.
So in the day of the shifter's exams, I met a lot of people who's taking the exams to shift for Engineering, Fine Arts, and Commerce. I was so devastated because I thought I was a victim of misinformation, but I like architecture actually it was my 1st choice among the 4. I just couldn't find the Archi office before that's why I checked the other 3 first.
Another thing is that they announced the result 4 days before the 1st day of classes. So I was like, Oh no, am I going to stop for a sem? or Should I be transferring to another school? but luckily i got accepted and now I will be taking the board exams for architects this June. Happy and contented.
So Rougepercer, try to be stubborn, try everything if you really want to get into the UST PT program. And pass the admission test, concentrate on the IQ part, I think that's the very first basis for admission.
During my time, archi's cut-off was 115 I think.

The dean always has the final say. Yes secretaries always say "no",
"closed na", "di na pwede"..etc...

Thank you for the advice Hare, and Tjmd.....

Sa pagkakaalam ko, hindi talaga tumatanggap ng transferee ang UST-CRS, so far wala pa ako nagigiging kaklase na transferee galing ibang school o colleges sa UST.

^^ True.
I'm not a UST PT alumnus but when I was studying in UST, the Institute of Physical Therapy (now College of Rehabilitation Sciences), never accepted transferees or shifters. In fact, the institute is one of the toughest in UST, with only a very limited number of students accepted in the program.
elec, ganun pa din ba ang uniform ng female PT students? :naughty:
