Virra Mall - Haunting Of The "X"

I'm sure that I'm not the only one who's experienced this one, but let me fill you in on things. I was with a few buddies of mine (headcount: 4, including me) and we were hanging on Vira Mall just for the heck of it. By the time we reached the 3rd floor, three small guys dressed in squatter clothing and with eyes fiery red were harassing us and yelling "X" again and again until we got far away. Later on, we went to the same route again and move past them but this time, they ignored us like there was no one there. This went on again for the 3rd time, and then on the 4th time that's when thing's went awry. I was the first one on the group and the 3 guys started mumbling the damn "X" word again and I asked them to put it away cause I don't have plans of buying it (in Tagalog of course) then one of the guys grabbed my friend firmly by the arm and seems like he's pulling off my friend off the group at the same time chanting the damn "X" word. You can see from his eyes that he's stoned or something. When the cops arrived, the ******** scampered like a pack of hyena's on crack.

The following month when we came back, the same guys are there again - however, they don't remember us. But their "X" chanting schtick continues. I don't know which "X" they're referring to: X-rated videotapes? Or just a tactic to sucker you in on a cheap hold-up near the fire escape route?

They are quite annoying... this time, they're more gentle... they won't grab you by the arm, instead they will flash in front of your face the cover title of the VCD's while uttering the words "boss, x! x VCD!". Dammit! Do I look like a pervert?!

Exactly. Can't these ******** grab a clue? If I ever was looking for X then I'll find it myself. It's annoying that these punks flash cheesy titles like "Major Hooters" and "Balls Of Steel" on you every time you cross paths with them.

Last weekend was the first time I'd gone to Virra Mall in the last couple of months. It's pretty bad ... these folks lurk in just about every corner, particularly on the third floor.

The irony was that there were security guards near the stairs on the 3rd floor Jolibee, which is where a lot of the solicitation was taking place. The guards are definitely on the take as well.

i needed to buy videoke VCDs for an expat, and been looking around GH, wala.

no choice, i approached one of these guys and they told me where to get the VCDs, yung nga lang they were edging me to get one of their wares! duh!

no thanks! i politely declined.

Yup I've also seen 'em. Just ignore them. But if you really want to buy those kind of stuff you can go to Edsa Central and a lot of X vcd's are on display.

One of those 'X' guys followed me for about 4 shops(!), upon which I entered in an attempt to lose him. It worked, thank goodness. That was creepy and embarassing, I hope no one saw me... :o

anecdote, my friend's brother got harrased by those stupid ppl selling xrated vcds in viramall. He's only 15, and when asked if he wanted the vcds he replied . .. "teka, tanong ko muna kay ate." lol .. and it worked. .

It's now "Boss, DVD."

Then there's a streamer which goes like "support the local music and film industry, don't buy pirated CD's/VCD's/DVD's - Mayor Jinggoy Estrada."

Since there's no local software, software CD's are fair game, I guess. :glee:

I remember some time ago meron ding makulit na nag-oofer ng x VCD sa akin sa Virra... I told him " di pwede, Pari ako!" Naalala ko pa reaction nung loko :)
