Tanong lang medyo inaamag na kasi yung knowledge ko sa DOS.

What command do you use in dos prompt para malaman yung type at speed ng cpu without restarting?

may nakakaalala ba? no dos utilities please either internal or external command na normally kasama sa windows o dos.

amd has a utility you can download that tells you cpu info and it works in windows...don't know of any commands in dos that can do what you're talking about though.

:ahh:wala akong na-aalala na internal command pero may naaalala ako.
DOS 6.2x yata o Windows 3.xx something.
Basta MSD yung command. (MicroSoft Diagnostics yata yun eh?) Para syang SI (System Information ni Peter Norton) :silly:
Para saan mo ba kailangan?

I need to get info on the cpu speed without restarting the computer. OS nung computer is DOS only, the computers in question are servers as well as computers controlling the radar dome of an Observatory here. I cant copy any software into the computer also for the govt's fear of the computers being infected with something.

tried msd pero la epek thanks anyway any other suggestion?

you can try to use the dos version of the norton utilities, i think there is an application in that suite that will suit your purposes.

I cant copy or run any other software into the computer, because as I said the people are very very careful in terms of security of the system. We are only allowed to install and run CA's Unicenter TNG AMO, but we need the cpu speed of the computer first B4 we install the software. As I pointed out these are servers and computers that controlls radars in the observatory, track weather sattelites movements as well as uplink to it. So security and integrity of the system must be intact.

I can post some machine code here which you can assemble using 'debug.exe', in case you're interested.

shark.. one the best security procedure is awareness. now, u r so paranoid and overly careful u just gave us an idea what u r working on and what u guys r capable of doing. now ur a nice target for some mischievous crackers out there *grin*

dont download antiviruses or any sort, they might be containing backdoors, trojans and other kind of malicious codes.

on the other hand, u might wanna try going to hwinfo.com, theyve got a nice utility, a diagnostic program than gives u all the information u can possibly get from ur pc. DOS and win32 version available. no i dont run the site. *grin*.

oh btw, can u tell us more about that CA's Unicenter TANG 'NAMO software?

i doNT think there is a DOS internal command for measuring the speed of cpu. but u can write a simple batch file to print "hello world" 10,000 times and clock (using ur wrist watch) how long it will finish executing. then compare it to a faster/slower processor. that will gauge how fast it is. :)

wala nga ata internal command, parang pctools ata yung may benchmark na ganun nung kapanahunan ng dos. As for trojans etc di naman ako yung paranoid etong costumer ng company namin yung paranoid sunod lang kami sa gusto nila. Tinatamad na ako gumawa ng batch file at magcomparison, hehehe i'll just tell them that it just cant be done without using an external software. langya galing ng panggalan mo ah TNG AMO
