Undisputedly, Maalaala Mo Kaya is the best local drama around. So it's very worthy to give our hats off to the program and the people behind it. It's very consistent in giving the viewers quality drama with logical and believable storyline and superb acting. So what do you think guys? You could also reply with your favorite episodes.

I must admit, Regine was pretty good. I was kind of surprised in fact. Even Piolo wasn't as annoying as he usually is.

Yeah, it was one of the "feel-good" episodes of MMK. I can only compare it to the episode starring Ina Raymundo and Piolo Pascual again (the one where Ina was a fat girl when she was younger). That and last night's episode are just two of my countless favorite episodes of the show.

Bagay nga kay Regine 'yung role nya as special child. She's quite convincing.

What's good, I hope, is that the theme of MMK now has Regine Velasquez' voice on it. Ganda ng rendition nya.

I'm a huge fan of Regine Velasquez. However, I wasn't able to see the beginning of MMK last night. :( But the last 40 minutes of the show that i saw were enough to make me smile at this new tandem of regine and piolo. Regardless of the sexuality issue, i think piolo's really a good actor. As for Regine, her singing prowess has already captivated a lot of fans..this time, her acting is improving even more.

I think the story is a mix of 2 movies..yung kay Johnny Depp (oh no, i forgot the title..."Benny and Joon" ba? Yikes, did i get the spelling right?) and that of another movie i saw in Star Movies (before Home Cable cut off its services..grr) that starred the extremely talented Juliette Lewis. Of course the latter is better than regine because even if i'm one of her big fans, i still noticed some inconsistencies in her acting last night. But as a whole, she surpassed whatever expectations i had of her in carrying out her role (galing-galing niya in her confrontation scenes with her father and then later, with her mom). I hope to see her again in more challenging roles.

I was able to watch the episode starring Piolo Pascual and Regine Velasquez last night.

It was a very cute episode. Regine's acting was ok at the start but she became OA as it progresses. I was quite annoyed towards the end. But overall, her performance is tolerable.

Piolo was good. He never did have any problem when doing light romance and feel good movies/tv specials.

I think last night's episode was one of the best MMK episode. Hopefully, we'd see more of Regine-Piolo team-up in the future. Probably in a movie?

Ano kayang Meron itong si Regine at bagay sya sa lahat ng ginagawa nya? Pansinin nyo okay siya sa lahat ng mga ka=partner nya. Whether it be Cristopher de leon, Aga Muhlach, robin Padilla and now Piolo Pascual. Maganda ang chemistry nya palagi. At magaganda pa movies nya, mga feel-good, light romance type.

This is one episode that is truly worth watching. I agree with you that Regine has improved. Piolo was so natural. The best part were those light moments they had in the show. One thing is for sure, if they make a movie, it will be another blockbuster. Yeah Piolo looks better with Regine than with Judy Ann (no offense).

About Regine & Piolo... from what I know, nire-recruit nga ng Star Cinema si Regine for a movie with Piolo. Kaso she signed an exclusive contract uli with Viva Films. Ang alam ko, dapat ang next movie talaga ni Piolo after Dekada 70 ay with Regine V. for Star Cinema. Pero yun nga, hindi na ata matutuloy. Sayang!

i used to be a big fan or hers. i had all of her cd's up until the kailangan koy ikaw soundtrack. but then, i guess the saying "out of sight, out of mind" is really true. i started seeing less and less of her on tv (cause i only have the filipino channel) kasi masyado yata syang nagpatali sa gma or something.

when i saw her in maalaala, grabe balik fan na naman ako. just great acting right there. i especially loved the personal touch in the show when she sang the theme song herself.

This
has got to be one of the most special episodes of the drama series
that I've seen. First, because it's Regine who stars in it. Second,
because the story and the script is fabulously written. Third,
because the acting of the lead and supporting actors is magnificent.
And fourth, because of the mini-soundtrack of Regine especially
recorded for this episode.

Regine sang her version of Maalaala Mo Kaya (the song) during a
portion of the episode where she was crying and contemplating. The
same song was played in full at the end credits. The version is a bit
jazzy and classical, with piano only as the background accompaniment.
Raul Mitra arranged it.

Both Regine and Piolo's acting were remarkable. They register well
onscreen. Regine's dramatic scenes were carried out without the usual
hysterical flare we see in most local drama actresses. She was a
natural. Her portrayal of the role was very convincing.

Among the supporting actors, I think Jodi Sta. Maria and Liza Lorena
were superb, portraying Abby's (Regine's character) sympathetic
cousin and overprotective mother, respectively.

The episode is very heart-warming. Kakaiyak. It unreels almost like a
movie, and is better than most local drama flicks on the big screen.

Bravo, Regine and Piolo!!!

regine is really great in the episode.. i also was not really a mmk fan but when i saw the teasers for that episode, i really didn't want to miss it kasi first of all its regine who is the lead actress there e! galing nya and you wouldnt think that she is a 31 year old! (tama ba guys?) god! also you wouldnt know that she really has no acting xp's compare with real artists na matagal ng nakasalampak sa showbiz industry who really cant act up to now! dont want to mention names to be safe! imagine she has only done a few movies and almost all of them already became a big hit.. that's definitely a shocking one!

not really a fan of mmk so while switching channels, i accidentally stopped at abs while the show was airing. hindi ko na nalipat pa sa ibang channel after watching the episode for a few minutes. regine was indeed very convincing in her role as a special child there. parang biglang gusto ko na tuloy siya mag-concentrate sa movies rather than on being a singer or worse, a mariah carey wannabe.

regine was indeed surprisingly good! medjo inconsistent on some parts (since siguro tv lang di sya masyado nakapagresearch and nakag-internalize nang maiigi) pero all in all, she's tolerable and good. naku ayan na.... nagiging fan na ata ako!!! ~lol~

This was one of the best MMK episodes ever. I haven't enjoyed watching MMK for the longest time now since that episode with Nanette Medved and Gloria Sevilla (who played the former's mom na kinahihiya nya because of facial scars).

Regine is a very convincing actress. She's very loveable. I agree with blue eyes blue - yes she indeed is the new multimedia superstar.

can't say kung true story nga na submitted sa mmk, but think of the story very well, the character of piolo's parents na mababa ang tingin sa kakayahan ng kanilang anak, plus yung ewan nyang ex-gf na super scandalous, kumbaga in regine's arms lang sya nakaramdam ng fulfillment and happiness, di ba minsan yun lang naman ang basis ng iba for loving someone? :)

I don't think this is a true story. It's too close to the two english movies i've seen. Also, a friend of mine from school said that these stories on MMK and those stories in the other network are all written by scriptwriters. She knows about these because she's the daughter of the executive producer. Kung meron mang original (meaning, may letter sender), hindi raw parati ginagamit.

The role she have had in Maalaala Mo Kaya last week was great. I think it was her biggest break in TV Drama so far and it's so ironic that it was in ABS-CBN 2 and not in GMA 7 (having a regular show there). Hope she'll think again to accept the offer made by ABS CBN.

i also have a record of that episode.. kc its the first time regine ever had accepted a role like that kaya it is one that should never be missed nor forget.. i watched it over and over again and still could not get enough of both the stars. galing nila.. all of them.. pero i think if they spent more time doing it, as well with the other actors, it could have been better, and even could have been the best ever. since it is just an episode na saglit na saglit lang ang shooting days, mas lalo akong nabilib. galing nila. i kept on telling myself, regine is really talented! Galing talaga! tama si uzjr, words aren't enough to describe how good regine's acting was in that episode. napahanga niya lahat ng tao. kahit nga yung mga kilala ko na ayaw sa kanya, ngayon bilib na bilib na din sa kanya dahil sa role niya ng special child. very convicing talaga and sabi nga sa newspaper na nabasa ko, may puso daw kasi sya umarte in every scene dun sa episode na yon. all praises sa kanya lahat pati ang critics and media. regine crush talaga kita. hehe... ang cute mo e. lalo pa ko naaliw nung ginawa niya yung role na yon.

The episode was directed by Malu Sevilla, from the story of Wali Ching. Basically the same tandem-to-beat, from Tabing-Ilog.

I don't think Regine should accept the offer, if there will be, from GMA for her to be featured in Larawan. If she agree to do it, that would be the end of her acting career. ;)

Yup, Benny & Joon. Joon is a pyromaniac and Johnny Depp, who isn't Benny(it's Aidan Quinn playing as brother to Mary Stuart Masterson) is parang yung gaya ni Regine

Galing talaga! tama si uzjr, words aren't enough to describe how good regine's acting was in that episode. napahanga niya lahat ng tao. kahit nga yung mga kilala ko na ayaw sa kanya, ngayon bilib na bilib na din sa kanya dahil sa role niya ng special child. very convicing talaga and sabi nga sa newspaper na nabasa ko, may puso daw kasi sya umarte in every scene dun sa episode na yon. all praises sa kanya lahat pati ang critics and media. This episode is the highest rating episode of MMK ever... followed by Judy Ann's exorcism episode (with the late Rico Yan).

The title of the episode was Buslog. Noong bata tinutukso siya na buslog which means pangit saka maraming kuto. Noong siya ay tumanda naging model siya saka gumanda. Hanggang sa ma-fall sa kanya si Tonton. This is a nice episode.

But a good actress? I don't think so.

Sa film class namin before, my teacher (na naging teacher din ni Kris nung college) always used her films as an example of a bad movie. I think she should just stick to what she's really good at.

Being nominated in an Awards Ceremony in this country is not really saying much. Fatima Buen was a terrible movie! And no director can motivate someone who simply cannot act. I think Kris is too "niched" to play a role which would require her to step out of her niche.

I like Kris as a host so I believe I am being objective about this so I hope no one gets offended. Just my opinion. :D

Don't trust the award-giving bodies too much...they're into a lot of politics too.

The episode was a lot of C R A P. The stars have no rapport, they do not jive. And to think they are ex-lovers. So much has, indeed, happened between this two that they have lost all chemistry.

But well, it was their first TV appearance. Trial and error baga. Hope it doesn't happen again.:p

I actually did laugh rather than feel sad or cry. I honestly thought all of their acting were pretty poor. Although..I will say that I give Bentong a great BIG 'E' for effort since this is his first!!! I'm sure he'll get better as he get more acting jobs....just hope more comedy roles. He's better at that. :D

i don't think, mag re replay pa ang MMK ng episode nila ngayon. unless gusto ng tao like yung episode nina regine velasquez at piolo pascual and *** kay aiza seguerra, matet de leon and patrick garcia. both lead actress won the respective PMPC star awards bess actress and asian TV awards best performance by an actress in a lead role, respectively.

ang gaganap na babalu is paolo contis and tirso cruz III.
