hi. i use for my face the ff:
-KOJIE SAN kojic acid soap-- 60php, watsons
-Nivea For Men Whitening Moisturizer (may spf 20 kasi) -- 120php
the best yan, kaya *** pimple prone talaga ako. so after a month or two of clear, fine, skin bigla na *** breakout ng pimples. dahil din siguro sa stress (im in college).
so, help guys. TY!!
yeah_boii!!!

i also use kojie san.
ito iba pang super effective tips to have clear and smooth skin
-drink lots of water!!!
(i drink 3-4 liters of liquid everyday)
-wag magpuyat!!!
(di naman ako nagkakapimples kapag nagpupuyat ako pero syempre pumapanget balat natin. nagmumukhang matanda)
-grapeseed extract
-alpha lipoic acid
-STRESSTABS

hey bro, kojie san is fine. i just found out that kojic acid aside from skin whitening, it has anti-acne properties.
i think the problem is your moisturizer, the nivea one. andaming claims na this can cause pimples to others.(saw it in the girltalk forum)
why not try Oil of Olay complete(it has spf 15)? mas madaming hiyang with this if you are willing to try other product.
and i think taking a supplement like vitamin C (500-1000mg) , and zinc(around 25mg) may help.
yeah_boii!!!
Aug 27, 2007, 02:55 AM
oil of olay is...OIL ( the name speaks for itself!)
the body composes of 70% water.
ano bang nangyayari pag minix nyo ang oil at water?
di makahinga ang skin kapag nilalagyan ng oil kaya ang result, nagkakarun tayo ng BIG PORES. at prone rin tayo sa pimples. its better if youll use water-based moisturizers like celeteque, NU SKIN, etc...

@yeah_boii!!!
My dermatologist advised me not to let the kojic acid soap stay on my face for more than 2mins as it tends to damage the skin. One more thing, the hapdi sensation is a sign that you should really rinse it out quick.
---
@Threadstarter
I suggest find a facial cleanser that works best with your skin type, and when you do find that, don't switch as it may cause breakouts.
---
I also suggest taking in vitamins. I take vit C. Make sure that you get the alkaline one, not the ascorbic acid.

yeah boii, the reason why i suggested olay coz it has spf.
but if the threadstarter can find a water based moisturizer that has spf...then its fine.
the company renamed the product as Olay na nga pala.

oil of olay complete or olay complete w/ spf 15 is oil-free :)
maraming olay moisturizers but olay complete is one of their oil-free moisturizers; kahit nga ang US na olay total effects ay oil-free but the one the sell here which is made in thailand is not.
right now i'm using for maintenance and prevention: benzac wash, panoxyl face wash (not the cream), clean and clear face scrub and olay complete w/ spf 15 (or arden's daily moisture w/ spf 15, depending on which is available)

For your facial wash, okay na siguro yung present soap mo (hiyangan naman yan). For your astringent, maybe you can try the godiva antiblemish astringent and antiblemish cream. I'm also prone to pimples lalo na pag sleep deprived (med student pala ako hehe! kaya lagi kulang tulog lalo na pag exams na)..I tried these products so far it's working for me (almost a year na). Anyway, you won't know naman which products will work for you if you don't try. They may not work for you as they did with other people or they may work better for you than with others. :)

Ah oo nga pala, for your sun protection, you may want to try godiva tea tree sunblock. If it's too heavy for you, meron ang hawaiian tropics na facial sunblock, mas lighter ata yun. Armada facial sunblock din light lang hehe! expensive na nga lang...kaya i don't use sunblock na since I do not have that much sun exposure (biruin mo whole day nasa classroom lang tapos pag uwi eh nasa kwarto na lang haha!) though it's better to use sunblock or sunscreen. :)

i do.
tyka syempre antioxidant.
anyways, i have a friend na dati sobrang rami nyang pimples.
then he uses this NU SKIN CLEAR ACTION SYSTEM.
after weeks of using it, naglessen at talagang kuminis talaga siya!

Proactive is a big NO NO..aside from the fact that it cost too much ,it is not effective,if you will spend that amount e di magpa derma ka na lang...use mild soap (NEUTROGENA,AVENE,VICHY,EUCERIN) and ask a dermatologist for an acti bacterial lotion..palitan mo lagi ang pillow cover, use your own towel alone(don't let anyone use it),wash your face only morning and night, too much washing would inly cause damage..eat fruits, avoid sunlight,sleep..take vit A,C & E.(ooppss, don't *****)

Aug 29, 2007, 09:12 AM
*sigh* this is exactly my sentiments.. i use kojic soap too, actually with an astringent and sum cream for maintenance
BUT alas some days, some weeks im clear, some days i have a pimple here and there.. some worse than others.. e super stress pa ko.. consolation na lang na hindi *** tipong big time acne!
i have no choice but to go along for the ride and pray na wal nang tumubo bukas!! haha.. wala naman daw talaga 100 % efficient na solution, we should just try our best sa prevention and maintenance and the rest is out of our control..
anyway, question bout "stresstabs", ano ba meron ito na nakakatulong sa stress? does it really work? ano ba kaibahan nito sa ibang multivit.?

^^^ natural vitamin e (D-alpha tocopherol) is better absorbed in the body unlike synthetic ones (DL-alpha tocopherol).. natural vitamin e such as squibb costs much higher but synthetics like myra e although much less expensive does not stay in the body nearly as long as natural vitamin e making it a much less effective protector..

I don't have anything against Proactive kasi officemate ko, yan yung gamit. Pero sobrang mahal naman kasi.
I use a Derma Set recommended by my friend. She gets it directly from the lab. that supplies derm products in diff. clinics. The Dema Set is effective as it give a rosy glow in my face as well as removing blemishes. I hardly have pimples as well. The set includes soap, toner, clarifying lotion, sunblock and night cream that can last for 2 months.

the bet way really is to live healthy.. drink lots of waters, protect your skin from alcohol & smoke, don't stress too much, sleep well.
Choose also the products that you use for your face like your moisturizer, make up, sun block. there is no one proven product that would be good for everyboday. hiyangan lang. so find the product that suits you.
on the other hand, i also use a couple of products since i had a super bad breakout last year that lasted for so long. went to my derma and used the following products:
toner
benzac wash
benzoyl peroxide 5%
adapalene (for pimple marks)
sulfur acne lotion
moisturizer (for dry parts)
i also under went treatment with the following procedures:
aha peel (pimple marks, pimples)
glycolic peel (pimple marks)
vita (for maintainance)
right now, my skin is back to normal and haven't had a bad breakout for a couple months. i work for a cosmetics brand and i need to have flawless skin :)

This may sound like an infomercial but whatever...
I've had acne since I was 15. Not just spots but like really horrible breakouts. I go to a dermatologist twice a month, tried almost everything on the market from topical meds to antibiotics and even roaccutane and nothing worked. I even bought those expensive Zeno Acne zapper.
I went to the states for vacation and I ordered Dan Kern's BP online from DanielKern.com (http://www.danielkern.com/). It's fairly inexpensive at $8.50 per tube but IT REALLY WORKS! I've been using it continuously for 7 months already and I don't have a single spot on my face right now, just marks from my old pimples. There are like several hundred positive reviews of this product over at acne.org
The only problem is shipping. The site ships to the Philippines but there are reports that Customs are not letting the packages go through. Maybe importing benzoyl peroxide is illegal, I don't know. But you can always try... maybe they just want bribes or something.

^^^^I agree with markas... The site helped a lot of people. It's all about prevention.
I tried ordering a few months ago from danielkern.com and I received the item naman. I have one more tube and need to order again soon. You can substitute the product to any 2.5 benzoyl peroxide on the market. They recommend the Neutrogena on-the-spot acne treatment but it's expensive. I tried benzac gel but it dries my skin and a slight peeling occurs.

lotsa water!
here is a basic skin care regime for acne prone skin
in the morning
1. wash skin with mild, unscented soap
2. apply moisturizer/sunblock (especially if you use vitamin-A derivatives)
3. if you have breakouts, spot apply your anti pimple cream of choice (however some people find that applying a generous amount of 2.5% BPO gel/cream cleared their acne away)
before sleeping
1. wash face again
2. apply tretinoin or adapalene on your face thinly
PS. and don't smoke pala.

Had a serious breakout that started early July. I've never seen that many pimples on my face, popping out one after the other, ampanget talaga. I had a funny feeling na bacterial infection sya, apart from hormonal imbalance...turned out I was right. I tried everything from Cetaphil, Godiva, Neutrogena, Ponds, Oil of Olay (stupid kasi nga oil yun diba, hello hehe), everything well, except Proactive hehe wala lang di ako bilib sa kanila. Until a friend recommended Panoxyl Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Gel, yung 10% ha. It worked. I'm virtually pimple-free now.
Nga pala, she advised na when using spot treatment products (such as Panoxyl), use it on the entire area, not just the pimple itself kasi chances the pimple that you treated dries up then a new zit pops up naman. Usually adult acne hit the sides of the face unlike teenage acne na nasa cheeks, forehead. When you use acne product, apply it on the entire sides of your face and forehead para yung entire area protected from bacteria.

i started using kojic soap a few weeks ago ang pretty ok. kaso lately parang my face is irritated (kinda red) and mahapdi whenever i wash. tapos i read somewhere na milk mixed with honey daw is good for the skin so i tried using the mixture. nabawasan yung redness and sarap pa sa face.

I have been looking for Skinoren for the longest time but to no avail. Pampaputi din kasi yung azelaic acid. Ayos sana whitening and anti-acne in one.
Anyway, I've tried Proactiv before and it's effective naman kaya lang di ko talaga kinakaya ang amoy nya. I also tried Dan Kern and Benzac at effective naman kaso di ko talaga ma-tolerate ang smell ng benzoyl saka na-bleach lahat ng hankies and pillow cases ko. Differin (adapalene) is also effective kaso mahal din. Right now I'm using Maxi-Peel Exfoliating Cream Moderate formula and ok na ok sya. My face is clear and hindi naman nag-peel. I still get a pimple or two occasionally and when I do I just dab it with Clean and Clear Pimple Clearing Speed Gel and nawawala sila agad. Problem ko na lang ngayon ay blackheads, wala talaga ako mahanap na effective product pang-control nito kaya I still get regular facials.

the best still is to go to your dermatologist (real MD) and of course pag palpak you can make sisi the doctor
and in the long run mas makakamura ka with a dermatologist. when i was a teenager marami akong pimples and i went to this dermatologist first few months i really spent a lot because the first month i have to go every week then the next month twice and nabawasan na ng nabawasan until ngayon every month na lang ako to cleanse my face and to buy supply, which is relatively cheap.
sa derma ko rin natutunang uminom ng gluta dati when gluta was not yet well known. it was then called skin vitamins before. of course gosh di na ko umiinom ng gluta ngayon
basta at the end wala akong sisi na nagpunta ako sa derma and not rely on sabi sabi ni friends, kachat nor kapex :D

I'm using Tea Tree Oil Facial foam from the Body Shop. So far, it's ok. Less pimples and less oiliness sa skin. Though more expensive. I bottle is PhP 695. Marami namang laman, so I think it's worth a try.

I have been looking for Skinoren for the longest time but to no avail. Pampaputi din kasi yung azelaic acid. Ayos sana whitening and anti-acne in one.
I get my supply of azelaic acid cream from my dermatologist. Hindi na ako nagpapafacial ngayon pero I still use it for maintenance. They started making their own azelaic acid kaya hindi na Skinoren binibili ko. Yung generic na lang nila.
I never knew na nagpapaputi din pala yun.
Especially pag summer kasi mainit at humid. Makati na mahapdi ang feeling.

Haiz... With so many brands out there I can't seem to make up my mind on which one I'd try next.
I'm kind of leaning towards VMV Hypoallergenics Id line but also there's Kiehl's Blue Herbal line and Proactive. Perhaps anyone here who's tried one of the said products can enlighten me and everyone else if they're good, affordable, effective and what have you?
You can also suggest brand lines that worked well for you... :)
Thanks in advance! *okay*

chick boy, have you tried consulting a dermatologist instead? para sakin mas ok yun and mas cheap (consultation+topical medications prescribed) compared dun sa mga minention mong products!
(consultation + 1-2 months supply of topical medications).
kung rich kid ka naman, edi go for calayan or belo. :D

oil of olay is...OIL ( the name speaks for itself!)
the body composes of 70% water.
ano bang nangyayari pag minix nyo ang oil at water?
di makahinga ang skin kapag nilalagyan ng oil kaya ang result, nagkakarun tayo ng BIG PORES. at prone rin tayo sa pimples. its better if youll use water-based moisturizers like celeteque, NU SKIN, etc...
hey,new ako dito, found this page kasi i was searching ng mgandang facial for boys at for moisturizing.. pimple prone *** face ko at may pagka oily..pag wash ko nung previous facial washes ko ay what happened is noticed na dry cleaned, linis ** at first pero balik din sa dati na mag o ol ulit at hinid p moisturized.. so hanap ako sa google kung saan nalaman ko ang tungkol sa celeteque at cetaphil.. cetephil ang unang mga nabasa ko pero mahal ***,,tpos nabasa ko rin mga review sa celeteque,,,na mukhang convinced namn ako,,so namili ako,,kung mag cetaphil ako,,tpos what if hindi *** hiyang sakin or di mag work, sayang *** eh mahal p nmn..so i decided to use celeteque muna,,para kung hindi man ok,,eh may kamurahan,, mga 3 days ko plng otng nagagamit,,guto kong ituloy to for at least a weel at tignan kung whats the changes on my face,,
dati kasi,,i dont go out with out powder kasi kelngan ku **** mag put ng powder para *** ma prevent ang oil..
nung mga nakaraang week *** ako ng stop sa pag gamit nitong ponds facia wash, tpos otner ako,,then lagay ako ng ponds cream,,ang tagal tagal ko ng gumagamit nyan,,yes,,sa cream pumuputi ka but then my pimples k prin,,at di moisturuzed..eh nakakapagod na kaya gusto ko eh *** facial wash nlng,,para pag sleep eh relax,, at nakakatamad ng mag kung ano ano so gusto ko pagkaligo sabay hilamos n ng face..
so i pinili ko nga celeteque kasi mas mura kesa cetaphil..natakot din kasi akong gumamit ng cetaphil kasi nga baka di magwork..may mga nabasa din aksi ako n di nag work sa kanila ang cetaphil..at maraming akong nabasa sa reviews na boys are using celeteque.. majority are boys ang gumagamit ng celeteque,,so ito n ginamit ko,,bumili ako ng facial wash nila,,
i dont like to say anytihng muna about sa paggamit ko nitong celeteque facial kasi baka "mabati".di muna ako magsasabi ng any positive things n kung ano magagawa ng celeteque sa mukha ko kasi baka magkamali ako.. ill wait for siguro 2 weeks para makita kung anon *** result..
celeteque facial wash sabi sa review at sa bottle mismo na may pang moisturized nga toa t good din kasi water based.. i want my face to be moisturized kasi ng walng nilalagay ng kung ano ano sa mukha..
but then gusto ko sana bumili ng celeteque facial moisturizer...
-gusto ko *** sana mag ask how to use it b kapag bumili n ako,, ano ba to,, you apply during night time?or after facial wash you put it n b **** papasok ka sa skul or kung ano,,bsta after facial wash eh facial moisturizer n b?

*** moisturizer ginagamit sha AFTER washing your face. if oily ka na, once a day mo na *** gamitin and ang bilhin mo e *** celeteque na "oil free and water based.."
(i use myra E vitawhite moisturizer with spf 15.)

guys, you might find this useful...
in reference lang to sa post ko sa magaling na derma thread:
mahal kay doc. XXXXX ...
di na ko bumalik after 4 sessions...
12K nagastos ko...
2k per visit ++ dahil sa meds
tpos lagi ako pinipriKKKK...i was afraid magbubutas muka ko
eto binigay nya sakin which theoretically magwowork...(ive done my own research, my approach is scientific. my face already cleared except for some zits that appear)
lymecycline (prescribed ni doc)...64php per capsule ata...you should take this for 12weeks 1x a day...wag ka magmimiss. dapat ata 2 hrs before and after wlang kain accdg to doctora.
(unfortunately for me, 1 month lang ako...kaya i still get inflammations pero very much less than used to)
duac ...700+ per 10g tube...mahal...pero eto *** dati ko...effective naman in tandem with 2% clindamycin (both galing kay dra.) mahal...
what i do now:
benzoyl peroxide soap (panoxyl bar 5%) 300php at mercury.
-active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide, in panoxyl, duac, etc...highly oxidizing which is very useful for anaerobic organisms such as P. acnes...causative organism of acne.
kojic acid (kojie san) 68php at mercury.
-kojic acid is a dicarboxylic acid, same as glycolic acid...highly keratolytic due to 2 dissociating H+ ions. when i say highly, balat agad mukha mo in a few secs so wag mo patagalin. (nung first ko to ginamit, may residue naiwan sa ilong ko, aun sugat)...pero kikinis ka for sure. :D
-with keratolysis, your skin will be more diffusable to medications such as clindamycin, benzoyl peroxide, etc.
clindamycin (dalacin c HCl) 60+php at mercury + eskinol oxygen sumthing sumthing...
-to make 2% clindamycin solution (i make my own since sobrang mahal kay dra...taga ang price)...300 milligrams of dalacin c + 15ml eskinol...make sure you measure out using a syringe. para mas accurate. if your going to use the whole 100ml bottle, make sure have at least 6 to 7 dalacin c 300mg capsules...shell out more ka nga lang. wag din 1 dalacin c per bottle kasi sobrang dilute...you wont get the effective concentration.
-eskinol oxygen sumthing sumthing has salicylic acid and lactic acid, both are effective keratolytic agent and general antimicrobial, respectively
use 10% panoxyl (benzoyl peroxide)
-i do this to simulate the effect of duac (5% benzoyl peroxide + 1% clindamycin)
-my treatment is double strength so based on my self-experimentation, kinabukasan dried agad pimples
differin (adapalene cream)
-according to literature, controls cellular differentiation and keratinization, so you'll shed faster and makes your white/blackheads surface and eventually gone. :D
-unlike other topical retinoids, this one will not cause photosensitivity (or at least not as much)...i go out without sunscreen and im ok. :)
-i only use this at night
i resorted to research and self-trial because dermas really charge high...
ayun
hahaha
btw, im still looking for azelaic acid...*** sa lahat ng drugstores na hinanapan ko
azelaic acid according to my research is better than kojic in a sense that it is keratolytic as well as antibacterial for p. acnes. it is similar to kojic or glycolic because it is a dicarboxylic acid...effective peeling agent. ayun
btw, now people say ang ganda ng skin ko...considering im a guy. :D
my officemate said parang artista skin. whoohoo
im not sure about that though
COMMENTS are highly appreciated
-sorry disorganized thoughts ko, nasa office e

in reference sa previous post
be patient in this regimen
purging ang adapalene, which means dahil paaangatin nya lahat ng white/blackheads mo, some will get inflamed. this is natural in the first 2 weeks. but i assure you. pogi/maganda ka after. haha. of course, kojic acid will deal with the spots. make sure you pop pimples properly if you have to... go to www.acne.org on how to do it.

Dear niQQQ,
The case of having pimples is different from one person to another. Very relative talaga because we all have unique degrees of skin sensitivity.
The least I can do is tell you what the things are that cause me to have pimples:
1. Chocolates
2. Sleeping late (The skin rejuvinates between 10pm - 2am so it is best to be asleep during this period.)
3. Alcoholic beverages (Especially beer.)
4. Things that touch my face (Personally, pimples grow on my chin when I sleep with my comforter touching it everynight. My skin gets irritated.)
What you can do is observe the circumstances that give you a break-out and act on it as soon as possible. And please, don't pop your zits! You'll only make your skin have holes in it. Okay?
I hope you find remedy to your skin problem already. But remember, it is normal to have pimples. Don't let it lower your self-esteem. :)

Okay here's my take:
I know there's no such thing as a permanent cure for acne so maintenance is the key. I unfortunately have an acne prone skin, oily all over the face, open pores. I also have already found a product that works for me and I have been using is for 2 years now. I'm done going to the derma all they do is give me these pills which are crazy expensive like 60 pesos a pill to be taken 2 times daily WTF parang chemo drugs na yan ha!
Exfoliation for me is the best treatment for my acne. Not only does it dries the acne it does really lightens your skin and the acne scars from the past are fading. I tried maxipeel (the cream because the peeling is not that obvious) Teranex which is glycerin base soap and the main ingredient is Glycolic acid. You really have to be patient in treating acne usually it takes 2-3 months to see if the products really work and don't change products constantly.

pero ang alam ko, depende rin kasi kung saang product ka hiyang. kasi i used olay total effects din and yung nivea for men na kulay green, hindi epektibo. until nasubukan ko yung pond's + nivea combination. aprub!

-benzoyl peroxide 5% soap
-Eskinol Oxygen 100ml w/ 6 pcs of clindamicine

I am very prone to white heads and black heads. I usually have really big pimples, tipong 1-2 at a time. Right now I have this big pimple right in between my eyes, nasa bridge ng nose ko. Can I use adapalene cream here?
Then I have these deep scars from pimples since adolescence til now. Most have lighten up except the new ones pero may uka talaga.
I've been to derma pero I found their products not hiyang to my skin kasi oily. Now, I go to Let's Face It and visit their derma to have each of the big pimples be injected with antibiotics, it works very well but then, it's P100 per pimple and paano na yun peklat?

here's what i say: to jynx1210
panoxyl soap gamit ko una panghilamos para tangal *** oil and kill p. acnes, *** nagcacause ng acne or pimples as well as white/blackheads. mga 10-30 secs application kasama na ang lathering sa skin. pag sobra tagal, sobrang mgddry skin at magdadarken *** dry skin.
then, kojie-san, ingat. sobrang hapdi nito after ng panoxyl kasi pareho *** ngcacause ng pagbabalat ng muka (di naman flaky, pero alam mong nagbabalat kasi mahapdi)
adapalene cream sa gabi after ligo or hilamos.
*** clindamycin + eskinol, sa pimple lang tlaga, wag sa buong muka. then followed by panoxyl...pero this will cause darkening. dont worry, kojie san will lighten it pero in 2 weeks time pa.
ok, this is what's good about this regimen i personally developed (researched if i must) and expermented...
mas mukha na kong korean *****. (i look like a korean kasi pero *** skin ko, pinoy na pinoy dati *****...). what i meant was, rosy cheeks, makinis, walang pimples what so ever, wlang blackheads kahit sa ilong. kung baga, pati ako naiimpress sa itsura ko. lagi pa pinagkakamalang foreigner. bwahaha.
disclaimer:
*** sa mga ito (based on modes of action) ang nagcacause ng pagdecrease ng oil production. so i still suffer from very oily skin, pero unlike before kahit sobrang dripping in oil muka ko buong araw and commute pa sa jip and all, di na ko tinutubuan ng pimples. so useless na *** panoxyl gel at clinda ko na 1 wik ko lang ata ginamit.
aun. so, my testimony na to. haha. sna mgwork sa inyo.
*** oil production pala, can be controlled by anti-hormone medicines such as finasteride for men only. bwal sa babae to. this med is also used for balding head. haha.
best anti-oil production meds, roaccutane, kasi it shrinks the oil glands for a price (hefty dose of side-effects), kaya nga di na ko ngattempt mgroaccutane e. kasi *** mga ginagamit ko, proven safe by US-FDA, un *** reference ko sa mga modes of action and stuff...nerdy stuff. haha

Hindi pwede sakin yang Dalacin C mixed with Eskinol. I've tried that before. After 5 days nagkaka-diarrhea na ako. Friendly reminder lang. Clindamycin should not be used in long term. Kahit topical lang, prolonged usage can result to a superinfection with a certain bacteria (Clostridium difficile) causing "pseudomembranous colitis" with symptoms such as diarrhea, fever and abdominal pain. Although this does not happen to all people. Watch out na lang how your body reacts.
I use Cetaphil Skin Cleanser and recently, Differin (adapalene). I am undergoing the initial breakout phase right now. Hopefully mag-clear na soon.

Hopefully mag-clear na soon.
ummm...dalacin c with eskinol is meant to be topical...do you drink eskinol with dalacin c? because clostridium difficile is in the gut...not very much present on the skin.
always tandem it with benzoyl peroxide to prevent bacterial resistance.

Pseudomembranous Colitis Caused by Topical Clindamycin Phosphate
Michael F. Parry, MD; Chan-Kook Rha, MD
Arch Dermatol. 1986;122(5):583-584.
Abstract
Pseudomembranous colitis was observed on two occasions in the same patient and was associated with the topical administration of clindamycin phosphate. Assay for Clostridium difficile toxin was positive, and the patient was ultimately cured by oral vancomycin hydrochloride and the withdrawal of clindamycin therapy.
http://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/archives/fdaDrugInfo.cfm?archiveid=1064
Orally and parenterally administered clindamycin has been associated with severe colitis which may result in patient death. Use of the topical formulation of clindamycin results in absorption of the antibiotic from the skin surface. Diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, and colitis (including pseudomembranous colitis) have been reported with the use of topical and systemic clindamycin.

Ano po ba ang pinakamabisang treatment for bacne?
onyxguapo
Feb 23, 2009, 06:16 PM
If there is one treatment na "pinakamabisa" o "pinaka-effective" for acne then hindi na hahaba ang thread na to. There are many different causes of acne, and different people react differently against different treatments. If you can't afford the luxury of having weekly derma visits then the only way (for me anyway) to find out which treatment is most effective for you would be to try out for yourself whatever is available to you and see how your skin reacts. Nagdaan din ako sa trial-and-error. I've tried virtually everything from the most expensive like Proactiv and Estee Lauder to the cheapest ones like Mena cream and Eskinol with Dalacin-C. Now I know what is most effective for my facial acne and bacne. But this doesn't mean my regimen will also be effective to you.
If there is one general rule in undergoing acne treatments, I think it will be to prevent irritation. Number one yan. Acne treatments need not be painful. Don't use soap, alcohol and astringent altogether. It wouldn't help. They would tell you that 'stinging sensation' means the product is working. That is not true! I learned thru experience that treatments, whether whitening or anti-acne, are more effective when done mildly... Slowly but surely.
Always be gentle on your skin whatever problem you have.

here's my regimen... i use eskinol (dermaclear-c) + dalacin c everyday, every morning and at night time... then apply Sujialih pearl cream afterwards.
Eskinol really helped cleanse my skin while Sujialih Pearl Cream made my skin finer and younger looking. It evened out my skintone kasi e... and mas glowing talaga siya. After 1 week of usage, nafeel ko na talaga na nagclear yung face ko.
So far, using both these products worked for me... I've tried other products as well but with unfavorable results, eto lang talaga effective para sa akin.
Just message me for details. Thanks.

Men can use "girly" products. Just the same, women can use "for men" skin products. Marketing strategy lang yang "for men" na yan.
Skin products, whether labeled for men or for women, are usually just as effective in both sexes, the only difference being "for men" products usually have a more masculine scent.

if im not mistaken, isotret as a topical med increases your photosensitivity...sun damage in short.
i use (been using for 6mons now) adapalene, a "cousin" or a derivative of isotret which has very minimal to nil photosensitivity effect.

i actually bought one before...but im not really confident about the company manufacturing it nor with the ingredients...the mineral oil is very doubtful...and in addition, it is comedogenic which might trigger pimples. so i didnt try. but if it has worked for you...good. :)
i asked dra. maano about adapalene. it is mainly for whiteheads and blackheads...which are the starting points of pimples. she said it can be continued for n-months as maintenance

Hi onyxguapo, can i use this without consultation w/ a dermatologist? also did this smoothen your skin, and remove the small pimples? when can i get this and how much? thanks!
I use Differin (0.1% adapalene cream). Differin is supposedly a prescription drug, but I am always able to buy one in any drug store without a prescription. It has a similar mode of action as tretinoin and is mainly used to remove and prevent comedonal acne (blackheads and whiteheads), but is far less irritating than tretinoin. Also, it has an anti-inflammatory effect which tretinoin does not have, thus it also prevents inflammatory acne from forming.
Like in any topical retinoid therapy, adapalene purges deep-seated comedones therefore you should expect more pimples to surface during the first few weeks of treatment. A forumer in acne.org (http://www.acne.org/messageboard/Info-retinoids-initial-t98395.html) said that you could have "15 months worth" of pimples appearing in just 3 month.
I usually buy the 30g tube in cream form and it costs around 500+ pesos. The gel form is cheaper and available in a smaller 15g tube.

thanks! last question why do you prefer the cream over the gel?
Generally, creams are less irritating than gels. It is said that the more aqueous a solution is, the more irritating it is. That is why, for example, a 0.005% liquid tretinoin solution can be more irritating than a 0.1% tretinoin cream preparation.
I use adapalene cream because I have sensitive skin and it doesn't make my face sting unlike the gel form. It is preferrable to use the gel form, however, if you could tolerate it as the cream tends to make the skin feel greasy (which is not a problem for me anyway since I only use it at night).
Adapalene can be bought from skin clinics such as Mendez and Let's Face It. Branded preparations (Differin or Klenzit) are available at Mercury Drug and Watson's.
