The 20-day TRO was granted and signed by the Judge this afternoon. That means Aljamal can play until the remainder of the elimination and even in the Final 4. By that time the issue regarding Aljamal will be resolve and would be given the go signal to play in the finals.
In that 20-day span, San Beda and Mancom should settle their differences for the league's sake.
It was clear that San Beda never violated any rules!
ANIMO SAN BEDA!!!
NCAA board must appoint a new Commssioner!!!
Kick out Supan and Atayde in ManCom!!!(might as well revamp the ManCom)
Suspend coach Vanguardia and JRU players that are involved in that massacre game against San Beda.

kapag natalo pa sila sa case it would only solidify & affirm what a bunch of liars and cheaters they really are.. therefore, a settlement is inevitable.

Lions get 20-day extension on TRO
By Marc Anthony Reyes

Last updated 11:50pm (Mla time) 08/25/2007
A LONGER SEQUEL WAS ADDED TO THE NCAA off-court drama.
San Beda, determined to protect its bid for a second straight collegiate cage title, has obtained a 20-day extension of the temporary restraining order (TRO) that had earlier prevented the league from imposing sanction on Red Lion star Yousif Aljamal.
“Just to let you know, we were able to get a 20-day extension,” San Beda rector and president Fr. Mateo De Jesus, who also represents the school in the powerful NCAA Policy Board, told the Inquirer yesterday.
The extension of the original 72-hour TRO awarded by the Manila Regional Trial Court after a lengthy hearing last Friday meant that the NCAA won’t be able to touch Aljamal until Sept. 14 or about the same time as the holding of the best-of-three championships series.
NCAA officials refused to make any comment until they are able to get a copy of the court ruling, which is expected to reach them only during office hours on Tuesday.
The league’s management committee (Mancom) had earlier suspended Aljamal for joining the PBA draft last week without getting permission from the NCAA, but the San Beda ace managed to play against Jose Rizal last Wednesday when the first TRO was issued just hours before the game.
The Mmancom initially sought a suspension for the rest of the season but the NCAA policy board junked the recommendation and opted to ban Aljamal only for the last three games of San Beda in the eliminations.
San Beda is already in the Final Four even if Aljamal sits out the rest of the Lions’ regular schedule.
Meanwhile, sources said NCAA president Vicente K. Fabella of Jose Rizal and San Beda’s top officials will sit down in a meeting today in a bid to put an end to the Aljamal issue.

Katchatore: Leave that thing to our bedan lawyers, the case of Aljamal is in good hands. Definitely, our King Red Lion will lead the team to get its back-to-back championship this year. Relax!
DonLabaro: What do you expect from Sup-supan and Atayde? Puro porma lang mga yan, mga hindi nag-iisip. In short, bopols. :) Fearless forecast: 20 days from now, you will see Sup-supan selling hopia outside the Arena and/or Araneta. Nyahaha! And oh.. Atayde, his business partner, is also selling sago and gulaman fresh from CSB. :)

it's crystal clear...SBC and Aljamal did not violated any ncaa rules. vindicated.
now, what's up tsupan?
imo, if SBC have sufficient evidence, they might as well consider filling a case against mancom para hindi na 'to maulit.

NCAA seeks lifting of San Beda TRO
By Joey Villar
Monday, August 27, 2007
The NCAA has filed a petition at the Manila Regional Trial Court seeking to lift the 20-day extension of the temporary restraining order (TRO) which San Beda secured over the weekend that prevented the league from suspending SBC star forward Yousif Aljamal.
“We also filed our own petition, we’ll see what the courts will decide,” said Management Committee member Henry Atayde of St. Benilde. “We hope this will be settled on Tuesday after the hearing.”
San Beda rector Fr. Matteo de Jesus, OSB, said Saturday they obtained a 20-day extension order that would allow Aljamal to play at least until Sept. 14 despite the three-game suspension slapped on him by the NCAA Policy Board.
“I’m happy with the development,” said De Jesus.
This means Aljamal, the 2006 Finals MVP, will play in the Lions’ game against the Perpetual Help Altas on Wednesday.
The extension was issued by Judge Rosario Cruz of the Manila RTC on the same day the first TRO expired.
Aljamal was initially suspended by the Mancom for the duration of Season 83 after San Beda failed to officially inform the league of his intention of joining the three-day PBA camp. It was, however, reduced to only until the end of the elimination round by the Policy Board, composed of heads and presidents of all members schools.
A TRO, however, prevented the league from enforcing the suspension for the next three days, and consequently, for another 20 days due to the recent court order.
Aljamal was picked eighth overall by Air21 before he was dealt to Talk N’ Text.
A long-drawn-out court battle is expected between the league and San Beda, virtually relegating the ongoing seniors’ games, already nearing the end of the eliminations, to the background.

Ahahaha. I bet you are laughing your as* of because we did this. We never gave up our protest. The MANCOM has decided to compromise. They were the ones who surrendered.
You still don't get it?? If we let it continue to the court of law, then JRU as host of this season, would be pulvurized.
I personally disagree with the school's decision to compromise with barbarians and would like the court decide. But since we loved this league as one of the FOUNDING members, we will have MERCY with the "others".
