Yeah.
Many are against JRU's hosting.
I think this season likewise should have made NCAA the intriguing one since sanbeda and letran dominates the first round. The attendance should have made the league leveled higher.

But it is going the other way around. Every game that I watch, sure, not so many audience.

Personally, this season's hosting is the worst among the three that I had experience - Letran and St. Benilde's hosting.

Now, I just find myself wandering who's next season's host? I know it's way way too far to talk about next season but I hope we'll have a better host.

SINO BA HOST NEXT SEASON?
KELAN BA MAGHOHOST SANBEDA?

It will still be Mapua.

i think i've read somewhere that sa year 2010 pa magiging Malayan Colleges ang Mapua. although they have already started inserting footnotes indicating the name malayan colleges in the diplomas of the graduates..

^ Nope.

The footnote says "Malayan Colleges Operating under the Name 'Mapua Institute of Technology'".

The existing Malayan College is in Laguna (a.k.a. MCL) and also has "Mapua" as its College of Engineering and Architecture. But it doesn't mean that the Cardinals based in Manila (Intramuros and Makati) are under Malayan College already. Therefore the "Mapua" of MCL and here in Manila are different.

The "Mapua" playing in the NCAA is still MapuaTech (of 1925) and not Malayan College/University.

REPOST:
Mapua may get to keep its name on paper after all.

MAPUA may be able to keep its name after all.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) said yesterday the Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT) is keeping its name as school administrators had apparently dropped plans to change it to Malayan Colleges.

Fr. Rolando dela Rosa, O.P. , CHED chair, told the Inquirer that MIT president Dr. Reynaldo Vea wrote CHED National Capital Region Director Dr. Amelia Biglete that the school would continue to use the name Mapua Institute of Technology in its record with the CHED as well as official documents and student records.

Dela Rosa said Vea's letter also said the Securities and Exchange Commission approved the change in the corporate name of the school to Malayan Colleges Inc. but with the stipulation that it was "operating under the name Mapua Institute of Technology."

"It is explicitly stated (in Dr. Vea's letter) that they will continue to use the name Mapua Institute of Technology in all official documents. Records with our office will also be under Mapua Institute of Technology. And they will use Mapua in all their advertisements and announcements to the public," Dela Rosa said.

The 80-year-old school, founded by Don Tomas Mapua, is well-known for its engineering and architecture programs, with many of its graduates topping licensure examinations. The school was purchased by the Yuchengco Group of Companies, which has interests in insurance, banking and real estate. On Feb. 10, it was announced that Mapua's name would be changed to Malayan University. Vea said this was part of the school's objective to gain university status. The old name would then refer only to the College of Engineering and Architecture. Mapua students had opposed the plan, and held regular protest actions, resulting in the suspension of several students.

The last time MIT hosted was way back in Season 76..

During that time all games were held at the Rizal Memorial Stadium..
except for the opening day that is traditionally held at the Araneta Coliseum.

So think next year's game may be held either at the RMC or the NAS or even Cuneta Astrodome.

That THE ARENA was a big joke..

(August 15 game vs UPHR); Na-delay yung first game nun for almost an hour (SSC vs CSB) because na late ang CSB dahil sa baha.

Yun na rin last year, yun ulit this year. LABO!!!!

I remember the last time na nag host yung mapua sa NCAA 1999 or 2000 ata yun.

VIVA MAPUA

honestly, I prefer the Arena. The facilities are far much better than the NAS and contrary to what people will say not only relatively easier to find but more conducive for commuters. Malapit pa sa Greenhills so okay na okay for the students na gigimik.
