Maganda nga sha!Pero nagkaubusan sa stub...kita ko yung ibang prof daming inuwi na food. Lugi naman kse no dahil nasa kanila ang mga stubs.Well....

About the topic:
It's already a new year and i just hope na UST will strive even harder and continue to be one of the best schools in the country. Actually, all the colleges are good naman pero shempre some colleges have an edge over the others. And it also depends on the quality of the profs and the students.

Well, UST is known sa medical field. Actually, we don't have to argue on w/c college is the best, basta graduate ka ng UST iba tingin sayo ng tao. Maswerte nga tayo at mababa ang tuition fee natin compared to DLSU and ADMU, pero quality teaching pa rin nakukuha natin. Mafi-feel nyo lang yan pag nagwo-work na kayo. Like me, I'm a registered nurse here at U.S.A., and they would really know if you came from a good school. They have high regards sa mga Thomasian nurses dito, kaya we're really doin' are best para maitayo ang bandera ng UST (syempre, para iwas law suit din. hehehe!) Kaya, kayo naman, mga fellow Thomasian, alumni or hindi, ipakita nyo naman ang galing ng school natin. Nakakainis kasi yung mga comment nila sa UAAP! Paka disente naman kayo. Royal, Pontifical, University pa naman tayo. Out of the topic na ba ko? I've answered the forum question naman di ba?! GO UST!!!

for your info, hindi lang iyon ang COE ng UST last year pako nag search ng list ng COE and COD ng mga schools sa CHED para malaman ko kung saan ako magaaply. pinakamaraming nakalista sa NCR ay ang U.P. at U.S.T., hindi ko naman kinukumpara ang U.P. sa U.S.T. nagsasabi lang ng fact. ^ Graduate din ako ng Kolehiyo ng Agham (2002). It was a first class college during the time of the late Dean Gloria de Castro Bernas. When I graduated from Science back in 2002, it was the only undergraduate college in UST to have an accreditation just a level below that of the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery(which up to now still has the highest level of accreditation in UST). So I have high respect for the College of Science. Lahat ng colleges suspended na ang pasok, ang College of Science pumapasok pa rin!

Pero organization-wise, faculty profile, facilities, alumni support, local and international reputation and many more, it's still the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery....and not to mention the very high tuition fee that would make any working class parent faint! And kahit na toxic sa Med, the Faculty still was able to win a Pautakan once and be either champions or runners-up in the intramurals during the last five years. Di rin kami nauubusan ng magagandang girls :naughty: and good-looking men! hahaha:lol:

Yes, this is true. UST's College of Nursing is the first C.O.E. of the university and this was during the time of Fr dela Rosa.
Although Im biased that Nursing is one of the best colleges in UST, (lahat naman eh magagaling talaga), I have a very very high regard for the Faculty of Engineering. I think they have the most difficult program sa UST. Lahat kase ng ka batch ko sa HS eh di nagtagal sa Eng ng USTe, lahat naglipatan.

Now, for the 'Botany' issue, I think the Faculty of Pharmacy was the one who had the program, kasi naabutan ko pa yung last batch nila (2003-2004) before it was abolished (due to low number of students, mga 20+ lang ata sila noon). Also, hindi lang Botany ang nagaaral ng tungkol sa 'kahalamanan', since Pharmacy has subjects like Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Botany, and Pharmacognosy & Plant Chemistry na related sa plants. I would like to emphasize na yung subject na Pharmacognosy and Plant chemistry ay tungkol sa mga medicinal/potential medicinal plants (their scientific name, chemical structures and compositions, uses, etc) na mahahanap sa BG. Anyhow, ang UST Botanical Garden ay para talaga sa lahat. *okay*

This college, over the years, had been ultra conservative on their admission policies and looking at their records, it is safe to say that they are The BEST Physical and Occupational theraphy school in the philippines--second to NONE.

Nakaka bilib lang yung record nila, tama ba more than 50-60% of their freshies graduated on top of their HS class. If we take the board examination as the gage, masyadong consistent ang performance nila and outside this, most of our PT and OT are movers in their chosen field.

College of Rehab Sciences.

This college, over the years, had been ultra conservative on their admission policies and looking at their records, it is safe to say that they are The BEST Physical and Occupational theraphy school in the philippines--second to NONE.

Nakaka bilib lang yung record nila, tama ba more than 50-60% of their freshies graduated on top of their HS class. If we take the board examination as the gage, masyadong consistent ang performance nila and outside this, most of our PT and OT are movers in their chosen field.

In AB, the best courses are Journalism and Literature. During my time, there were only a few who enrol in these two disciplines. It's ironic that despite being a Center of Excellence, Literature students, through time, dwindle in number. It even came to a point where classes of these majors combine.

Journalism students, on the other hand, continue to increase. Bias aside, I think UST Journalism has the best curriculum among other journalism schools in the country. It combines theory and practice, which makes Thomasian journalists the most sought after in the local media industry. However, after graduation, only a few get into the real world of journalism. If I'm not mistaken, Prof. Lito Zulueta has scrapped the subject Public Relations Practice because it is not considered 'hardcore' journalism. I was told, Sir Zulueta doesn't want to see Journalism graduates get into the PR world.

So balik sa topic. Hindi lang science courses at Architecture ang forte ng USTe. Nagkataon lang na magnified ang galing ng mga kursong ito dahil sa board exam. Kung may board exam lang ang Literature at Journalism, eh 'di number one na naman parati ang UST diyan.

Idagdag mo pa dyan na dalawa sa apat [2 of 4] na National Artist for Architecture ay Tomasino -- sina Leandro Locsin at Ildefonso Santos, Jr. The other two, Pablo Antonio and Juan Nakpil, ay nagtapos ng arkitekto sa ibang bansa. Si Antonio sa University of London at si Nakpil naman ay sa Fountainbleu School of Fine Arts [Paris].

Yes, this is true. UST's College of Nursing is the first C.O.E. of the university and this was during the time of Fr dela Rosa.
Although Im biased that Nursing is one of the best colleges in UST, (lahat naman eh magagaling talaga), I have a very very high regard for the Faculty of Engineering. I think they have the most difficult program sa UST. Lahat kase ng ka batch ko sa HS eh di nagtagal sa Eng ng USTe, lahat naglipatan.

Wow. Muntik na din ako mabiktima ng panggigil ng Engg mag debar ng estudyante hehe. During the time when I was in ENgg, I have classmates/friends who never experienced summer vacation hehehhe:D

I'm from college of education, and for me it's a good college, aside from being able to maintain a 100% passing rate, it forms good and competent teachers. haha though aminado ako na hindi kami mailalaban sa pagalingan ng academic chuchu with other UST colleges. Wah. anyways its cool to be in USTe!
