ORGANIC CHEMISTRY? :D

i'm badly in need of a tutor in organic chemistry! :mecry:

may alam ba kayo sa organic chemistry?!? or may kakilala kayong chemistry tutor within metro manila??

kelangan ko na talaga...wah! midterm na namin by the end of july...:mecry:

I took this subject in my 2nd year, 1st sem and it was the easiest among the Chemistry subjects I had (not mentioning General Chemistry of course).

Basic: Carbon can hold upto four molecules or tetravalent.

From there, reactions of Alipathic and Aromatic Alkenes, Alkanes, and Alkynes, Benzenes, Alkyl Halides, Ether, Phenol, Alcohol, Aldehyde, Ketone, Carboxylic Acid, Acid Anhydride, Esters (Alkylakanoates), Amides (Alkanamide), Amines (Alkanamines), and Nitriles (Alkane Nitrile) will just be very easy. Just familiarize yourself with the nomenclatures and their basic reactions (e.g Halogenation, Sulfogenation) or special reactions (e.g Friedel Craft's Alkylation or Acylation of Benzene). If you have John McMurry's Fundamentals of Organic Chemistry, practice yourself with its review questions and everything will be fine. ;)

im a 2nd yr bs biology student...ang hindi ko lang magets, bakit kami may org chem at physics?!?! alam ko may connect sila, pero, kaya nga ako nag biology para matakasan ang chem kahit papano eh...*sigh*

i have the book...binili ko talaga yun para maintindihan ko siya lalo...kaso pinapagulo kasi ng prof ko eh...:lol:

gets ko siya kahit papano...nasa aldehydes, alcohol tska carboxylic acids na nga kami ngayon, kaso may mga hindi talaga ako mainindihan...:mecry: :mecry: :mecry: :mecry:

actually marami pang iba...:hmm: ...may assignment nanaman nga kami eh...:eek:

yung prof pa namin, parang wala ng bukas kung makapagbigay ng assignment! *peace*

Organic chem is surely one of the subjects that you need to really memorize a lot of stuff.

Yes, better yet check for tutorials that will help you get through Org Chem. Mahirap kasi mag enter ng Structural Formula dito and mahirap din naman umintindi ng condensed structural formula lang. :)

If there's anything that I can share, just try to learn the logic of the reactions.

For instance, how stearic hindrance affect the structure of halogenation reactions, or how SN1 and SN2 differ from one another (one produces a carbocation intermediate and the other one doesnt). Or the delocalization of electrons in a benzene ring affects the susceptability of being attacked by electrophiles and neucleophiles.

And of course don't forget your nomenclature! :lol:

Point is, once you get the rationale behind reactions, it'll be much easier for you to digest organic chem.

i went over the yellowpages and found some tutoring services...they do offer org chem, kaso ang mahal! :eek: mamumulubi ako dahil lang sa org chem! :lol:

sariling sikap nalang ata talaga 'to! *sigh*
