Business Club

Now that PEx is back to its ideal speed, let's finally try to get this Business Club on track.

Last week, some 20 PExers had a prelimenary Business Club EB in The Regency. We all realized a fundamental dilemma -- What is the purpose of the Business Club? What will this stand for?

As Zimdude suggested -- Let's continue those discussions here ...

Just a dummy's question on the fundamentals of this Business Club: Exactly what will it be? Is it intended to revolve around an online BB like PEX, or will this be more of an IRL organization?

We actually don't know yet -- The members of the club will determine what its purpose of being is. Communications wise, however, we plan to collaborate regularly over both online and offline channels.

I have actually been working with iAyala and some groups to set up the ground work for this. Zim, we should get together and flesh things out.

I read the minutes of your first meeting & noted the following

" build special interest groups on the things that are to be tackled - cells so that if someone is not interested in a topic don't join, just go for the one that interests you "

There's a lot of us out there with experience & there's a lot of us out there with time.

Could we start by enumerating a few of these special interest activities so that people can start brainstorming & putting together a tree ?

Here are a few examples

- Set up of Planning Groups by type of work
--- small business ventures ( tons to pick from )
--- mass based business ventures ( mass job creation )

- Set up of a collecting institution (for mass job creation)
--- to seek funds from PEXERS
--- to seek funds from Overseas Workers
--- to seek funds from Foreign Institutions
--- micro credit lending facilities ?

I have a question. Is the Business club limited to IT. I was reading through the minutes of your last meeting and I noticed that most of the discussion was about Information Technology and E-commerce.

How about those engaged in manufacturing; those in the agri-business and those in service-oriented companies? Will we find a place in the Business group?

I am ready to move forward on the Business Club. I was thinking that nix was working on something, but I have not heard much in quite a while.

All types of business are welcome for the Club, it just came to pass that the first round of organizers were focused on IT.
