Guys, have you ever meet a filipina pilot, 5'1 tall wearing eye glasses?
Because I am planning to go to pilot school.
It's has always been my dream to fly an airplane.
I prefer working for commercial airlines though, not in the military.
Can someone please offer me some advice on how to achieve
my beloved dream?

Masters Flying School #850-70-42 look for Mayette. They are located at Tramo in Front of Kia in Pasay City, and Their Actual Flying is being Conducted at Plaridel Municipal Airport so there's gonna be no problem when it comes to airspace restrictions like that of NAIA,They also charges the lowest in the Industry both in tuition and on per Flying Hour,Most Flyong Schools would require at least 1.5 to 2.5 million theirs would be more or less 800thou,plus they will assist you in licensing at ATO. PM me for more info....ciao:)

Guys guys Guys....I'll try to shell-out as many info as I could para hindi na kayo magulahan:D
First and foremost you have to apply for a student pilot license (SPL)
at ATO(Air Transport Office) this is the equivalent of Student Drivers Licence,The requirement for this is NBI clearance,Birth Certificate,Neurological and Psychological Exam(to make sure you're not suicidal or homicidal:p ) and medical examination which is done in house at ATO They will also require you to bring an X-ray and ECG results.Regarding the Eye Exam,I passed it,so I'm not sure how the 20/20 vision meant, but surely you should not be colorblind, but as far as I know there were student who wear glasses. My friend wears his since high school, but he himself passed the eye exam.
Theres Three Basic Level to Become a Pilot
Private Pilot License(PPL):ground schooling +40hrs. of flying
Commercial Pilot License(CPL):ground schooling+160hrs of Flying
Intrument Rating(IR):Ground Schooling+20Hrs of flying+simulator
After getting your SPL you can then proceed to ground schooling.Your SPL allows you to fly an aircraft but only with the supervision of a Licensed FLight Instructor, after finishing your PPL ground schooling and had finished the flying hour requirements you can now apply for a PPL ,which basically means you can fly a privately owned aircraft without revenue generating passenger or cargo. This already allows you to bring your family or friends on board, that is if they already have a confidence in you:lol: .This is also a chance for the guys to bring girls inside the aircraft, and earns you gazillion of pogi points*okay*
After getting you're PPL you could proceed in getting you CPL
you will also have a ground schooling for this, then you can proceed to flying, after passing CPL you can now apply to a commercial carrier but you are restricted to fly on Visual Flights only, meaning you can only fly when the sun is out, this is why you'll gonna need
Instrument Rating which will teach you to fly at night and navigate
blindly and depend only on your aircrafts' instrument.
I hope I was able to give light on you guys,I might have made some errors but this info is generally correct,PM me if you have more questions.
@[Golliwog]hahaha I know medyo strange but honestly being a pilot is a better option nowadays since there was a lot of growth in global aviation industry not to mention that Filipino Pilots are very much in demand abroad,Actually Im very happy that theres a lot of interest on this since I myself believe that our country has a great future in aviation industry, besides first pilots in South East Asia were FIlipinos,Anyway.
Financially speaking its not really very expensive to become a pilot,by shelling out the same amount of money in getting to Med School or even nursing,You could work for the same salary here as if you work as a nurse abroad,or if you decide to go abroad there were some airlines who offers as much as $15'000 a month to entry level pilots.which is really a very lucrative offer.

Dear Golliwog,
Nice to hear from you again. You should know that is very normal for people to change their minds. Sorry that you live in a communist world, but the world that I am living in is full of freedom. Hence, my ability to keep on dreaming. I haven't completed my first year in College yet. So, I still have time to plan my life. Therefore, your obnoxious comment is not acceptable.
Dear Springvilleboy,
Being able to fly high above the sky is my dream. It might not happened now, but when I have the resources that would be my first goal to finished. I am in the land of milk and honey right now. And I am thinking of maybe going to airforce if they will accept me. I have look into their website, and I am dissapointed to know that they require applicants to be at least 5'4. Moreover, 800 thousand is a bit too much, don't ya think? Maybe it's not, but I am pretty much sure I can't afford it. And if I do, are all the fees included in the 800k your saying? Thats around $17K, right?
So, tell me, what do you mean by ground schooling? Approximately, how long is the training? What are the things that I need to expect from that school? Is high school diploma ok? Do they charge extra fees for people with foreign passport? Do I have any classmates? After I have done the training, does that school helps me get a job, maybe it's affiliated with airline companies? Sorry for the many questions, I am just curios.

hi springvilleboy, thanks for the info. are you still a student? I've got a couple of things to ask..in total, magkano magagastos in studying to be a pilot? are they going to assist you (in this case, your school) in finding a job? I use to study sa PHILSCA, sa villanor airbase kaso medyo mahal so i transferred! hehehe kaso isa talaga sa mga ambitions ko yun :D

I don't know your issues guys kalan lang ako naging active sa PEX,hindi ko alam ang tindi pala nang intrigahan,at brasuhan dito.
@flimeryrose-Lady, it's called Flying School not Pilot School so please change the title of the thread. If you're in states try inquiring at Embry Riddle or Kings Schools if your in CA.I guess they provide endowment for US citizens, tourist lang visa ko kaya hindi ako nagapply diyan, but if you try USAF I doubt you could pass because the physical training is hard not unless you're a brusque 185lb/6'1 height caucasian woman.because theres a minimum height and visual requirement and talagang mabubugbog ka sa hirap ng training. They also require both high Emotional and Intelligent Quotient to maintain focus and sanity during air to air combat.in which maraming hindi nakapasa.
To others: I guess as far as calculations are going you'll definitely have to spend something around a million pesos++. It is still a cheaper option since in states total cost of studying would sum up to $100,000+,plus flying hours required by ATO are lesser compared to FAA and the exams are a lot easier. I dont think you need to be assisted when it comes to employment especially at this times kasi talagang in-demand talaga mga pilots ngayon because of the booming airline industry.

PILOT WANNABES MAY WEAR GLASSES!
Please get your facts straight so as not to mislead people. you may look at the PAL website yourselves, they are currently hiring pilots and they allow glasses. same thing with Cebu Pacific.
Omni Aviation and CLark Aviation both accept student pilots that wear glasses. im not sure if PAL has started accepting student pilots with glasses.
about the height requirement, the minimum is 5'4" for PAL and Cebu Pac. unfortunately, these are filipino standards, these could be higher in other countries where the people are much taller. so this could be the disqualifying requirement for the topic starter and not the glasses.
