View Full Version : Next Stop: UST vs SBC Finals Series

Ages ago, there's so much talk about how to merge both UAAP and NCAA into one single tournament. Time has passed, and the talk never materialized.

So what's the next stop after the UAAP and NCAA finals?

It’s just like West (UAAP) champion team meets East (NCAA) champion team.

No more elaborate format.

All it needs is an additional (3 games) best of 3 series, right after both UAAP and NCAA finals.

Then BAM! We now have a Metro Manila Collegiate Champions Team.

No crazier Collegiate Champions League that will only interfere with students’ studies. (Pampatagal lang :))

And there are no more lame excuses that top players can't play due to conflicting priorities.

I believe having both college leagues under one roof will help raise the bar of Philippine basketball.

What are your thoughts?

That's not a bad idea... or maybe the top 4 teams of the NCAA and UAAP can slug it out in a sudden death elims up to the finals.

Yeah... I've been rooting for a one NCAA league... but I don't just want to include the UAAP league.. dapat nandoon din yung mga college teams sa North and South... sa Cebu, ang daming magagaling na teams doon that has beaten both NCAA and UAAP schools... just because they are not as exposed as we are, it doesn't mean that they are less skilled as we are in basketball... pati dito sa Manila, ang dami pa... that is the sad thing about it, ang dami pang magagaling na basketball players sa bansa and their talents aren't discovered simply because of the lack of exposure... tuloy, mas sikat pa tuloy yung mga bangko sa uaap at ncaa kaysa sa iba sa kanila na di hamak na mas magaling... UST and San Beda isn't exactly West vs. East.. more like North and South... halos magkapit bahay lang sila eh... it's only about 10 minutes walk going north.. hehehe...

it is time to have the NCAA Champion San Beda Red Lions vs. the UAAP Champion University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers Showdown...

Let's go for a "united" NCAA LEAGUE... if this happens, it'd be defenitely be bigger and more popular than PBA itself...

Had Ateneo won the UAAP plum, it would have been a better match-up against NCAA Champion San Beda.

That wishful NCAA/UAAP series could have materialized.

A common and well-known alumnus of both schools can bankroll the said event called...The M.V.P. CUP

Nice idea MC21*okay*

Sana nga San Beda vs. Ateneo ang match-up for old-times sake... pero hindi sila nanalo eh, sayang nga... San Beda vs. UST is a more interesting match because both are champions of their own leagues... this match will find out who's the best only in the NCAA and UAAP combined... the best in the nation will be found out in the COLLEGIATE Champions League...

Herdz.. damn, you've always been cool... bedistang-bedista!

Animo Bedans! United NCAA League.. someday, I hope. GO San Beda Fight!!! 3X!!!

There's no shame in losing to a better team. Congratulations to JRU for playing fantastic basketball.

What's utterly shameful is not being able to win the titles that matter most.

At the end of the day, CCL is, and will always be, merely a sideshow.

Now if you'll excuse us, our champions need to take their much-deserved rest and enjoy more celebrations, as we give way for the other teams to shine.

Go USTE!

Aljamal told Coach Koy yesterday that he will not take the NU game lightly. So expect a Red Lion win.

Teka... what else SHOULD we expect from the Red Lions?

ei observations ko lang... mas peaceful ang mga forums sa NCAA compared sa forums sa UAAP... wala lang... at isa pang napansin ko, ang ibang taga-UST mahilig sumawsaw sa forums na ginawa para sa mga bedista.. well anyway... as of now 3 teams from the UAAP are out of the CCL: UST, Adamson and NU... natalo *** bulldogs kanina versus redlions... and for the record... Samuel Ekwe did not even play for that particular game.

Nahahawa na yata ang Uste sa Ateneo... natututo na rin gumawa ng excuses pag talo... weird thing is, they have the same excuses... di raw seryoso yung game... losers always aren't serious, kulang-kulang sa puso... CCL na nga lang eh talo pa? ano yung UAAP nyo, tsamba na ba yun? i'm disappointed Uste can be inconsistent pala the way they play basketball, minsan tamad, minsan hindi, depende sa league... but once you see basketball that way... you're a joke!

Go USTE!

Sayang, your celebration just cut short by JRU, who are now celebrating that they have beaten UST, the current UAAP champions in a do-or-die battle that UST can't take.. tsk, tsk, tsk... give other team to shine? ibig sabihin nagbebenta pala ng laro ang UST? Si Coach Pido pa ba kamo ang pasimuno? How embarrasing... But is it true? Or talagang nagkaka-hawaan na kayo sa UAAP dahil talunan nanaman kayo sa NCAA... either way, kakahiya pa din... either your excuses are lies, or they are true, at nagbebenta kayo ng laro...

Kung ako sa iyo, huwag ka na magpalusot dahil di ka lulusot dito kung saan may mga bedista... no one cares about you, pero pati UST nadadamay eh... pinapahiya mo lang ang USTe...
