technically koy banal isn't a first year coach of SBC as he has coached them for 4 or 5 games alst year.

mapua's problem isn't their coach. for me coach horacio lim is a good coach. very good motivator. the problem of mapua is their recruitment of players. since wala nang high school ang mapua, their only source of players are either walk-in applicants or recruitment from provinces. mahirap kumuha ng calibre players from established high schools as you have to compete with the likes of admu, dlsu, sbc and others..

^That's true. Our Red Cub T.G. Guilllermo transferred to MIT as there was too much talent in San Beda's Team A for him to crack that lineup. The thought of landing a Team A berth at MIT was too good a chance to pass up. He is a good kid, and as the latter part of the season showed, specially inthe PCU game in the second round, given the chance, he proved that he could make a big contribution to the Cards' cause. The Bedan community still has a soft spot in its heart for T.G. He will always be considered as one of our own, and we wish him success in his career.

Ayos! Okay si Atoy Co! Horacio Lim is a good coach, but he is not an ideal coach.. wala siyang respeto sa mga teams na tumatalo sa kanya, puro excuses.. and once you start making excuses, there is no way of helping your team improve, rather than admitting your flaws and work to eliminate the flaws and get better, puro excuse pa maririning mo... na porque nanalo daw San Beda sa kanila, dahil kinampihan daw tayo ng referees... not only that it is disrespectful to the talents of the San Beda team that beat them, who are the current champions by the way, it is also disrespectful to the officials in the game who tried hard under pressure, with some mistakes of course, to officiate the game... magaling man si Horacio Lim, he can't help improve the Mapua team... Atoy Co, Joel Banal, or any other coach who knows how to acknowledge defeat and weakenesses are the only coaches who can help Mapua right now to be contenders again... Viva Mapua! (sana di na matuloy yung Malayan name for your school..)

nasa culture na yata ng mga mapuans yan.. wala sa priority list ang manood ng live games sa RMC o kung san man.. kahit ako, uuwi na lang ako.. tatapusin ko na lang yung reports ko habang nanoonod sa TV..

kung sa Mapua Gym pa or sa TV pwede pa ko manood ng live..

Kaya ganun mga students kc *** results ng Cardinals sa NCAA same old... i mean lang improvement... maybe pag umabot na ng Championship... yan *****... ok na... ^_^... pero its TRUE... nasa COACHING yan kung gagaling at mgiging magaling ang isang Basketball Team... so for me, dapat palitan ang Coach ng Mapua Cardinals and One more thing, kung may mga New Recruits, DAPAT Big Men naman! ang Liit kc ng Cardinals e...

Hindi naman siguro mahina ang support ng students kasi during the semis, (saka kahit nung elims) ang daming nanunuod sa Pavillion, saka sa Pinky's.
Abot hanggang labas ng Pinky's yung mga nanunuod ng NC, esp. nung semis (game with San Beda).
Siguro tinatamad lang magpunta sa Rizal kaya ganun. :D

During the late 80's and early 90's, lots of Mapuans trooped to the Rizal Coliseum to watch the MIT game, in fact they were very boisterous during those times. I still remember the 2 elimination games between Lions and Cardinals during the 1991 season at the Blue Eagle gym wherein both games was marred by debris throwing from both camps. But nowadays, i noticed that indeed, crowd support for the Cardinals is dwindling.

yeah i still remember when we had this huge celebration at our gym for the go three peat way back in '92. although we didn't get it i might say that the students really supported our school on that time. and also it is compulsory for us to watch the ball game for the attendance. ma pa athletics, physics, math o kahit rizal man kukunan ka ng attendance :D

oh well those were the days.. kahit nasa lion city na ako eh my heart belongs to the cardinals.. :D ciao!

may support pa rin naman, yun lang medyo sabay sa opening and final4ang finals/hell week ng mga Mapuans due to quarterm..
