Since we're about to close the season, let's have a look down memory lane and note the various end-game heroics of each of the teams in the UAAP. Starting off with AdMU (in no particular order):

1. The "Shot" - Gec Chia's Hail Mary shot to break the tie and win the semi final rubber match against UE, propelling them to the finals where in they won their 3rd UAAP championship.

2. The "Blocks" - Larry Fonacier's 2 crucial blocks of Game 1 of the 2002 finals, giving them a 1-0 edge over long time rivals DLSU Archers.

3. The "Play" - the Norman Black - Macky Escalona - Doug Kramer play that won the Eagles Game 1 of the 2006 UAAP finals against UST.

4. The "LA Show" - LA Tenorio's two step back threes, one against Adamson and another against FEU during the first round of the eliminations of the 2004 season, thereby giving the Eagles a 7-0 record despite losing Larry Fonacier to ACL.

5. The "Rocket" flies high - JC Intal's heroics against Adamson and FEU this season, making him one of this season's MVP contenders.

6. Chris Tiu does an LA - with the memory of the Falcon's loss against the LA-led Eagles still fresh in the former's minds, Chris Tiu buries a triple to snatch the game away from Adamson during the first round of this season.

So, what are your school's best and most memorable end-game heroics? :)

Ahh...still fresh in my mind

- Arwind Santos' three pointer and tip in basket in the final minute to win Game 1 for FEU in last year's finals.

- Mark Isip's three point play in the final 20 seconds of Game 2 that eventually clinched the 2005 championship for the Tams.

^ yup, the best winning moment(both) in the history of FEU.

both shots/plays silenced the DLSU crowd (it even prompted a batok-takbo incident in game 1, hihi).

so sweet............

1994 - Bal David's 2 pressure packed free throws against Dlsu in game 3 of the finals which gave them the lead and eventually the title.

1995 and 1996 - Henry Ong's booming treys to put the nail on Dlsu's coffin and in order for the Tigers to secure their 3rd and 4th straight titles in the 1990's. In the process, making the Archers the UAAP 3-peat runner-ups. :rotflmao:

1. Doug Kramer/Macky Escalona/Norman Black game winning play vs. UST. (showed the smarts of Black, the courage of Escalona, and the confidence of Kramer)

2. Gec Chia game winner vs. UE. (put Chia on the map, and may have led to Gec being drafted to the pros)

3. Larry Fonacier's defense vs. Mac Cardona. (proved defense can win games)

4. Rico Villanueva game winning 3 in the ADMU-DLSU dream game. (sweet, sweet justice after being hit with a cheap shot)

I will never forget Dino Aldeguer's Triple vs UST that ended the Tigers' Dynasty (Hmmmm..late nineties...***** ang tanda ko na yata).

I remember La Salle playing catch up and the whole UST crowd shouting in anticipation of another UST win vs the Archers. Clock was winding down....

I remember my friend shouting nervously, "MATATALO NA TAYO, MATATALO NA TAYO, MATATALO NA TAYO!!!!" (kasi nga parati kami talo nung panahon na yun) , then aldeguer swishes it in. 3 POINTS!! SWOOSH! Green and White crowd ERUPTS!!!!

Without missing a heartbeat, my friend suddenly shouts " MANANALO NA TAYO,MANANALO NA TAYO, MANANALO NA TAYO!!!!"

HAHAHA, that was a classic.

That enabled La Salle to gain OT and then the game.
