Some, or most, of our beloved college basketball stars have their own share of bloopers or funny moments during classes or outside the court. It may be that they are just naive or plain stupid.. but what the heck, if its funny post it here.. you may choose to name him or not... its up to you! Some may bash me for starting such a thread, I know we have our own moments of blunders but we are not famous so who'd care?? right? That's the price of FAME! :bop:
Ill start! :p
Aside from rarely going to class, this former UST standout once had an exam score of 4/70. kamote! dude i know you can do better than that if you've attended ur classes
I guess you all know this. a standout from DLSU joined a quiz show recently... when asked whats the national flower.. He answered... Daisy? tsk tsk... :naughty:
Another DLSU standout was asked what made them win the game... He asnwered.. It was their "confident".. ayuz!

If I'm not mistaken, I think Duncil had a lot of grammatical errors when he was featured in the First Day High commercial.

Intal and Kramer were the only ones sitting in our air-conditioned classroom but all of a sudden the classroom wreaked of foul air. Everybody immediately looked at the back of the class since it seemed that they were the source. Kramer then immediately blamed the fart on Intal. The teacher quickly said "Open the doors! Fan the air out! Fan the air out! There's nothing wrong in farting but be polite to your classmates!"

Jun Limpot ---> "We are the championship!!!"
Some DLSU player ---> "We are the back to back to back champions!!!"
Cardona & Yeo (interview after 2004 championship) ---> when asked what their courses are, they weren't able to explain and fortunately, Franz was there to bail them out... "basta mahirap yun..."

A friend of mine told me he read a newspaper article before, the article talked about James Yap asking Kris Aquino if "sincerely" should be spelled as "sincerelly".
I also read somewhere that James Yap and Paolo Hubalde scored misreably in the De La Salle College Entrance Test. I think one of them scored 10/100 in one part of the examination.
There was also a former Ateneo basketball varsity player who used "effectivity" instead of "effectiveness" to describe a play or their performance when he was on television.

Maybe not very interesting...
My bestfriend who plays for UST, was waiting for us in Robinsons Place Ermita. I was with another friend and we were to have a dinner. Eto kasing player na ito, may pagkamanloloko. He said that he was already in Rob place.

He was being interviewed after they beat Ateneo in a tightly fought contest. The reporter asked, "Jun, why is it that each time you play Ateneo you always have a hard time beating them even if on paper, they are quite weak?"
Jun looked dumbfounded for 3 to 5 secs and then replied, "Ano yun ulit?"

Ewan ko kung funny moment ito pero here goes...
Sa ADMU hirap sa parking lalo na pag dismissal ng grade school (sa bandang blue eagle gym / GS PL) - one afternoon last year when i came to pick up my sons (GS) nakapagpark na ako sa halos College area, nakita ko si Macky Escalona, trying to park his cark in a not-so-tight space naman - parallel parking - I assume power steering yung car niya so di dapat mahirapan, but i swear, it took him four tries to get it right. I stopped to watch him - Nakita niya siguro na na-amuse ako so he flashed me a big smile upon going down his car and said ..."Mam you didnt see that, okay!?"
......i wanted to say "Kiss Tita muna and I'll forget what i saw"..hehehe JOKE lang żon. :D

not funny, though, but revealing just the same:
former ateneo blue eagle center alex araneta is a friend, and back in the 80s, compulsory subject pa ang spanish. because of his spanish lineage, he is often tapped by some instructors to stand in for them whenever they miss class. not a few students have noticed that alex taught better than their regular teachers. mas marami raw silang naiintindihan pag siya ang nagpapaliwanag :) as for alex, he was rewarded for all his hard work by eventually getting exempted in all his spanish classes.

Players and their cars:
Benjie Paras and Joey Guanio riding in Benjie's Toyota Starlet.
Sa Ateneo naman, Alex Araneta (6-7), Jet Nieto (6-3 250lbs) JV Gayoso (6-2) and Sep Canlas (6-1) all riding a Suzuki Fronte (to the younger ones, kasing liit ito ng Hyundai Spark - mas maliit pa sa Getz at Aveo). Para silang sardinas.
Sardinas part 2: Japeth Aguilar, Macky Escalona, Harry Hipolito, Mike Baldos, Miggy Solitaria and Chester Chaves going back to the dorm in a honda civic after a FMC game at EAC Manila last summer.

A friend of mine told me something interesting. He's a DLSU student. In one of his law subjects, he had a classmate named JR Aquino, former Green Archer. The professor/attorney was calling out students one by one for their recitation. She asked a question to each student then the student had to give an accurate and lengthy explanation.
JR Aquino was called. My friend thought this student-athlete would buckle under pressure, but he was wrong. This student-athlete actually impressed the professor/attorney and the class with his answer. His main points were clear and accurate. They could tell that he was nervous yet he maintained his composure.

Speaking of JR Aquino, last week I was at starbucks north edsa. And as I wait for my order, I keep looking at their barista because he looks so familiar. Then I remember he is a green archer and as I look at his nameplate, it says "Jay-r". I was so kilig at that moment, because he is the only green archer I like!:) Then he called my name and gave me my coffee, I was suppose to ask him if he's really JR Aquino from the green archers even if I'm definitely sure that he is!:D wala lang, just to catch a conversation with him...;)

Speaking of student athletes, former Ateneo Blue Eaglet JC Garcia, (a contemporary of Sandy Arespacochaga, John Verayo, and Tiongson) is now a lawyer. After his stint with the Eaglets, he decided not to join the Ateneo Blue EAgles since he would only receive limited playing time due to the entry of Vince Hizon and Verayo.

japs cuan was my classmate in literature last year. he was the statue of liberty in our class play. we even painted his body gray so we made him wear an old stinky wig so that he would look like the statue of liberty.
dizon...hmmm.... he's always quiet in class..he doesn't talk that much. maybe because he's the only irregular student in our class
