You're correct, - Caligirl -. There is no worldwide pageant for Miss America winners. These ladies are supposed to be "beauty and brains" and will spend a year in community service and goodwill activities.

Yes, she does acknowledge her Filipino roots especially when interviewed by reporters but she didn't get to mention it during the actual pageant because she didn't really have the chance to. However, she did a fantastic job representing her home state Hawaii, where she was born and raised in...(she danced the Hula and wore a flower on her ear during the swimsuit competition :))

What a hypocrite!!!!! Cali girl...How about some consistancy in your posting. Why is it ok for women to parade their bodies in miss world(any nationality) but not at an asian carshow? Its just different levels of the same thing,surely. 15 years ago,Miss world and miss universe was watched by millions on t.v from all around the world.Now however it is viewed by most countries as a big embarassment and is no longer televised mainly coz its just a big joke!! Wake up and smell the coffee woman!!

Comparing a beauty contest and an import carshow is like comparing apples and oranges. For one thing, beauty contests are done RESPECTABLY and with maturity -- also, they're not all about beauty because they involve intelligence and charisma as well.

If you try reading my previous posts CAREFULLY, you'll realize that what I'm really against is the manner in which these import girls present themselves a.k.a. their BEHAVIOR. Obviously, you've never really been to a carshow so you haven't seen what sort of things go on.. like girls getting freaky in public with each other, taking pics in suggestive poses, getting on top of cars and taking off their g-strings, letting any guy touch/feel on them .........Have you seen those kinds of things done in a beauty contest? I don't think so.

By the way, you were ASSUMING when you thought I was against "parading bodies" or showing skin because in fact, I have nothing against it. We all wear bathing suits/trunks to go swimming or wear sleeveless tops/shorts when it's hot, don't we? Wearing 'sexy' clothes is perfectly okay (and normal) as long as it's done with CLASS.

Anyhow, what's up with you making up lies about seeing Angela at a carshow? You don't even live in California! :lol: Let's see you come up with proof that you did see her at a carshow (which is NOT demeaning, by the way, as long as she doesn't present herself like a sl*t).

Ay Dios Mio...Ay Nako! Caligirl, those pics of the carshow pinays are downright...GODAWFUL!

Kahiya! Is that from the Bay Area...I haven't seen any carshows or nuthin like that here in LA but I'm sure they exist because racing is a big thing for racer pinoys here too.
It's really sad...these Car Show Pinays weren't always like this...they're the really pretty Filipinas too, well some of them are, I've seen some butt ugly ones too...I had a couple of friends who got into this stuff.

I don't know what to make of Filipinas like these all HOOCHED OUT and the guys that are with them all HOOCHED OUT themselves. I know I know there's hoochies of every skin color and nationality but damn...you know...this really irrates me.

I mean I know they grew up here and everything and I've seen em all my life and even had a couple of friends in jr. high and High School that became one of those but gosh...is it just a need for attention or something....probably....or maybe LAX or SUPER Strict parental control/guidance.....or.....they just wanna get into peoples pants all the time cuz from the way they're dressed they're inviting trouble. We had neighbors like these once...ughhh! Smoking/Sniffing/Drinking/Girls/Loud Music/Obnoxious behavior....ughhh!

Couple of ex-friends(once they get in with this crowd they cut themselves off from everybody else at times cuz its not cool) I had known since elementary school got into this and they started smoking and dressing just like this and it was sad...some got pregnant before highschool graduation and they're now back in Pinas with no future and a baby they're probably gonna HOOCH OUT too.

Another filipina from highschool that I knew got into the PORNO business....kahiya, talaga....got some double D breast implants and just really did her thing on those magazines....she dyed her hair blonde, too.

Maybe everybody just has a different perception of what's cool and what lifestyle or image suits them best.....but damn.....kahiya naman yung ganoon asta.

It's people like these that give Filipino Youths that live in the States or were born here a bad reputation...I hope people are more open minded and realize that we're not all like this...its unfair that a few rotten ones in the bunch give the rest a bad reputation...geez.

the ones I kinda have a problem with are those certain trying-hard ones who do all them crazy hootchie stuff to get attention. I think they're probably just insecure cuz they think they gotta take off their g-strings to get noticed.

I mean it's not like I really wanna judge these girls but if you see them in person doing those SCANDALOUS stuff, it just makes you REALLY wonder..what in the world are they thinking? I think it's sad cuz some of them look my age [19] or even younger! *sigh* Whatever.
