what happened na to this hs cheering competition? who won by the way in each divisions? when would be the finals if ever meron?

Huh? Akala ko ba tapos na iyang J&J Teen Cheer Competition na iyan? What I know is they got rid of those North, East, West, and South division thingies eh. Isang competition lang for the whole of Manila. Nabalitaan ko rin na Saint Paul-Pasig won 1st, OB Montessorri won 2nd, and I'm not sure what school won third. But I'm not really sure. Baka North Division lang yun or something.

alam ko din tapos na yun e! pero napanuod ko kasi sa sports unlimited then sabi nila november pa daw yung finals :)

Miriam won in the north division. As for the east/west, st. paul pasig won. wala pa for the south coz i think this saturday pa. (hehe sana zobel wins! :D ). the finals is gonna be sa november pa.

north division - sept 16, makati coliseum
east/west division - sept 30, makati coliseum
south division - october 7, makati coliseum
GRAND FINALS - NOVEMBER 18, CUNETA ASTRODOME

there was also a competition in cebu and davao but i dont think the teams that won would join the grand finals. it's really going to cost them a lot!

i think for the south sector eliminitaions pedro e. diaz won, bene came in 2nd, and north..i think st. paul won

Hindi sumali ang Zobel this year kasi exams week. Wala silang time para makapag-practice. Sa Manresa naman, di na sila sumali kasi ang strict at super conservative ng mga madre na nagpapatakbo ng school. I can't believe Pedro E. Diaz won over Bene! Kakahiya naman yung Bene! Bene should practice real hard for this. They should at least match the 3rd place finish of Zobel last year sa finals ng J&J or at least do better para ma-prove natin na magaling ang mga South schools. Sa Pedro E. Diaz naman, please lose all the props. This is a cheering competition, not an Ati-Atihan festival!

I agree! well...I was expecting dati ay makakapasok sa finals ang zobel, manre(woah...galing ng manre...kahit nagkamali sa umpisa....bumawi naman) & bene(yun nga lang, mejo kailangan inimprove pa nila yung yung pepsquad(as in yung mga sumisigaw/kumakanta) para mas maganda....). pero nanalo ba talaga yung Pedro E Diaz? I wonder kung ano itsura ng sa kanila...well, to be fair, kung sila nga naman yung pinakamaganda among the other shcools in the south, I think they deserve the credit

btw, ano ba ang ang tawag ng ibang school sa mga sumasayaw ay cheerers & sa mga kumakata is pepsquad/booster. pero ang tawag naman ng ibang schools sa sumasayaw ay pepsquad....mejo magulo ah...

yung mga sumasayaw are called cheerdancers/cheerleaders (pero mas intindi ng marami sa atin kapag sinabing cheerleader/s, siya/sila yung pinaka-master or yung parang team captain ng cheering squad). pepsquad naman ang tawag sa mga taga-sigaw. at yung mga taga buhat naman ay spotters.

about the cheering squad of bene, i heard na they won 2nd place daw! not sure though kasi sinabi lang sa akin and i havent seen any news in print or via tv about kung sino nanalo sa south. im pretty sure they (bene) did a much better performance kasi theyve already added cheering as part of the varisty so i guess prepared naman sila. meron na rin silang pepsquad compared dati na konti lang (i think it was also their test week kaya busy yung mga students and the thing is di nila ata akalain na kailangan ng may dalang tagasigaw... hihi!).

wala naman sa admin yun eh. nasa cheerdancers yun. they really didnt prepare for it. ginagawa lang nilang excuse yung exams week. ang tagal-tagal na nilang alam na may j&j pero di naman talaga sila nagprepare for it.

You guys are right. No doubt that the seniors this year are a very apathetic batch. I remember my days in Zobel when my batchmates used to call them the batch na "walang ka-talent-talent" sa cheering or anything else for that matter. I used to laugh it off but now, knowing that they purposely didn't prepare for the competition, I am now thinking that maybe those comments about them were true. Hindi bali, the juniors this year are a very talented batch, kaya, next year, pag seniors na sila, I'm sure na maibabalik nila ang glory days of La Salle sa cheering by winning the J&J Teen Cheer Competition South Division, and, if God wills, even the J&J finals.
