Im a graduate of a Business course(4 yr) but I want to study Phys. Therpy, particularly treating atlethes' injuries. (Im hoping to market myself in the US, as my family is there, but alas, Im "legal age" lol)
Anyway, my question is what schools do you guys recommend? and if ever I do get into that school, will they credit the minor subjects Ive already taken?
Thnx and much appreciated. ;)

Take Nursing as 2nd courser. Sabi mo "legal age" ka na. I'm assuming you mean 21+. If you were petitioned by a relative, matagal pa yan (approx 10 yrs); even longer if you get married. If employment-based petition, madali lang. Just pass board exam jan, NCLEX, and CGFNS and you're in the US way, way sooner. And, you can still treat sports injuries by being a nurse. Maghanap ka na rin ng matinong US citizen na mapapangasawa at the same time (backup plan).

be a doctor. i don't want to come off bad here but in the medical ocean, doctors are the killer whales. they can lord it everywhere, be it nursing, physical therapy, sports medicine or public health. my friend who majored in public health liked the field so much that he wanted to take his masters. but when he saw how MDs were given preferential treatment over PH majors ---within the institute of public health, he got mad. he's a doctor now.

Hi Keybored,
I applaud you for thinking of your future and considering a course that you are interested in, and not just will make money. Nurses and PT's in the US right now are quite special, this is because the shortage there for these 2 professions are quite big. If you get employed in the US as PT right now, you can rest assured your green card will be processed faster.
As for your 4 years business course, 2 years of gen. ed. will probably be accepted by the school you want to go to. However after saying this, thought you should know that BSPT is a 5 year course, so you still have to do 3 more years (or the proper) where it focuses more on the PT itself (modalities, exercises, anatomy, physio etc).
Best of luck whatever you choose to do!
