Rado is a good quality watch, it's not that expensive but its very classy. The only problem is that there are only few Rado designs sold in stores here.
Michel Herbelin is not a very popular brand, but their ladies' watches are great...plus its a Swiss brand so the quality is pretty good. Visit their website at www.michelherbelin.com

get her a Baume & Mercier. Nice styles and not so expensive. See at Lucerne in Glorietta 4. or a Daniel Jeane Richard. Same makers as Gerard Perregaux(did I spell that right?hehehe) also at Lucerne. Swiss and not masa. DJR is an affordable automatic watch. Ask for discount.

Cartier, Gucci and Rolex are expensive. If jisc is looking for something above Swatch but below Tag Heuer and Rolex, then these brands are out of the question. You can't get a new Cartier watch for less than Php100,000. Rolex will set you back by Php250,000 upwards. Gucci has some watches that cost around Php50,000-80,000, but these are just the ones with leather straps.
Here are more suggestions:
Kenneth Cole has some really nice watches, locally the price range is from Php4,000 to around Php15,000.
Charles Jourdan is a very nice watch brand, their ladies' line is really classy. Around Php7000-15000.
If you have a budget of Php50,000-100,000, the best buy would be an Omega watch. Their ladies' styles are classic and never go out of style, pang office na office talaga. You can also buy a Tag Heuer with the same price range, pero personally mas professional looking para sa akin ang Omega.

ok maybe i should put a price range, around P5k to P13k, i could push it to P15k if its really worth it pero i would be eating canned foods and instant mami for a month :D
im looking for something that can last for years, something that she can give to our daughter when we grow old. pero i cant go for that P50k++ watch, that price will just make her mad rather than happy. :D actually she was just asking for a swatch, kaso i feel swatch is more of a high school and college watch eh :D
what really stops me from buying brand is because napaka-palasak na nya sa tutuban, it would be a real let down when i bought her a P14k guess and then she'll see the exact replica of her watch in tutuban selling for P200.
so far thanks to your suggestions, i guess i'll look for these brands when i window shop:
rado, tissot, Michel Herbelin (although i havents seen these brand yet in shops). and is there a seiko kinetic for ladies? hmmm.

For P5,000 to P15,000, you have a lot of choices. Like I said already, the brands falling under this price range are Rado, Charles Jourdan, Michel Herbelin and Kenneth Cole.
The most extensive selection of Rado can be found in Washington Jewelry stores. Charles Jourdan is found in most watch stores as well. Guy Laroche is the "sister" brand of Charles Jourdan, and their watches are also nice. The best selection of Kenneth Cole I've seen is found in that watch store beside Pretty Fit and across Rockport in Glorietta. Michel Herbelin is sold in that watch store in Glorietta 4, the one opposite Giordano, and near Mendrez Men. I forgot the name of the store though.
If you want something that would last for years, my mom has a Charles Jourdan that has been with her for ten years na, and it still looks good as new. Rado is of very good quality too.
Tip: If you buy from these watch stores in malls, don't be shy...pwedeng tumawad. Based on experience, they can sell you the watches on display for as low as 60% of the marked price...if you pay in cash. In Washington jewelry, they're open to discounts especially if cash payment.

Why not try Charriol? From P35,000 t0 P50,000 at Rustans. Very good after-sales service. And it's something you can pass on to your daughter later on.

Tissot is a very high quality swiss watch and affordable. The movement in Tissot watches are the same, ETA movements (quartz and automatic), as in Omega, Tag Heuer, and other more expensive brands. The brand is very reliable. I own two of their watches among more expensive ones in my collection and I have not been dissapointed.
If you are willing to consider Japanese, go with citizen Eco-Drives. The solar quartz movement is very high tech and you will NEVER need a battery. *okay*

ako din i vote for tissot. i bought mine a few years back and it still looks great! got it for 8K only, kaya lang parang nagtaas ng prices ang mga watch dealers. yung watch model nung sa akin released ito before nilabas yung "Ballad" na series niya, so parang ganun din ang itsura. ang maganda dito automatic na, sapphire crystal, and water proof. may maganda silang model "florence" yung name kaya lang hindi automatic. goodluck sa paghunt ng gift!!!

Is this your Technomarine? http://www.jomashop.com/technomarine-tmcx07.html
I've been wanting to buy the pink TMCX for a long time, but I'm still deciding if I'll buy it here or have someone buy it for me in the U.S. How much does this watch sell in the local Technomarine dealer stores?

If you are looking for a brand na matibay at hindi masyadong mahal, i suggest Tissot bilin mo, yun sakin kasi bigay ng mom ko, medyo pabaya ako nun college naiwan ko sa pants ko nalaban ng washing machine nun matuyo nasa pocket pa rin, hindi nagfade (two-toned kasi sya), hindi nagasgas, hindi nagmoist. swiss watch, automatic at scratch proof kasi sapphire siya. 7 years na to til now maganda pa rin pede ko pa ipamana sa anak ko.

you said you wanted a watch to last near lifetime, therefore, i'd tell you to look for automatic watches with brands that are known maker of watches, not jewelry or fashion watches.
good quality automatic watches are:
seiko sports 5 or seiko kinetic (parts are from japan, assembled in hk; these are the higher models of seiko). i highly recommend this, pwede pa *** partner. :)
tissot
swatch (actually, they're really are not bad. swiss watches are most preferred, and most swatches are collector's ed and are true investment)
good luck! :)
p.s. if you're willing to spend more, try omega or oris. not sure though if they carry for women (i like wearing men's watch :D)

Gucci has good selections for women, Omega has some affordable ladies quartz watch, Rado, Longines are same. Personally, i'd go with automatics. I also agree with some that some Swatch's are dressy for office if you're looking for inexpensive one's.
I know expensive watches isn't for everyone, but there's nothing like wearing one. they also don't lose much value

As you mentioned earlier, Tissot would be a good choice. They are swiss made, both quartz and automatics are available, and belong to the Swatch group, which includes more high end brands like Omega, blancpain, and Breguet. The swatch group also owns ETA manufacture, which makes movements for the majority of swiss watches in the market today. Therefore, with Tissot you get a high quality, medium priced swiss timepiece with one of the best movements available. :)
Testemonial:
I own two Tissot timepieces; An automatic Le Locle and a quartz Savonette Pocketwatch. Excellent quality at great prices. Definitely good value for your money. *okay*

i was planning to buy tissot rin pero i realized i don't need one yet. haha. it's sale in hour glass in megamall when i went. there's 10 and 20 % off. but i duno lang if meron pa. i'm happy buying more clothes than buying one watch! but i find anne klein II and fossil okay rin!
the ones like omega, tudor, hermes, cartier are too pricey! not na practical for a student like me! hehe. I'd go til 15 k and less for one!

I got my Mom an Anne Klein watch for the holidays. I made her pick out something. Baka di nya pa magustuhan mapili ko eh. She picked the bracelet-watch thingie. She loved the designs so much she bought 3 more - two more for herself and one for her mom. I think the prices are OK. I didn't see anything over 10k.

Tissot is nice, for something pricier but below Rolex, i really like Rado watches for women. Try to spend a bit more for automatics, they're worth the extra dough.
Toy watches are nice too, but you can find something that looks similar that has been in circulation that is on sale and is very cheap now. It's identical to Toy watches, only difference is the name.
