One thing I hate about watching the brass bands play is that they almost play the same. Sino ba ang pinaka-unang may brass band sa ncaa maliban sa mga umalis na? At bakit halos pare-parehas ang tunog ng Letran, Beda, Baste, at iba pang may brass band? :D

If they sound the same now, and terrible at that,then brass bands play have regressed. But one thing you can't accuse the school bands of is that hired players(pampiyesta) are playing for them because they dont sound good, to be kind about it. Studyante talaga ang tumotorotot. Anybody can pound on drums. Di mo na kelangang maging creative dyan. Consider that students way back (20+years) formed part of MARCHING bands which sounded good and looked good at the same time, bands today are way off tune and very much disappointing.

Hindi naman sila terrible tumugtog pards, parang halos pare-parehas ang tunog nila. Pati brass band ng JRU ganun din yata. Observation ko lang. Pero minsan ok makarinig ng mga kanta na KATAWAN o di kaya ang HEY SONG pero di maiwasan ang comparison dahil halos pare-parehas ang drumbeat (yes, uso ang kopyahan) at yells. :D

I agree with MonL... they sound terrible... and I agree with AltarBoy... pare-parehas naman ang tunog nila...

Kaka turn-off... imbes na ganahan ka mag cheer, ang hirap pakinggan... I understand where MonL is coming from... he has heard what a good sound really sounds like... and so have I.... anything not comparable to what we have heard as good or decent... is terrible!

what differs one from another is how the people cheer and roar before, during and after the band starts playing.

When a LIONS ROAR and the drums start beating, you would know the difference. It's not that hard to differ us... really...
