4121212, 171 and 4112000. Busy lahat papuntang DSL Tech Support. Minsan pa binababaan pa ako ng phone. Yung hindi siya magsasalita tapos a few seconds after busy tone na ang maririnig ko.
grrr!!:grrr: PLDT-like na sila....kakainis!!

Down ang Bayantel from 1:30 hanggang mga 3:00 ngayong hapon.
Based on my experiences with PLDT, hinding-hindi na ako babalik sa kanila hehehe.

Would you recommend Globe Broadband here in Cainta?
Absolutely NOT-unless you're a masochist. Gone in 60 seconds ang globe - you get a burst speed of about 500kps something that lasts for minute then it's gone just like that. Parang christmast lights ang pagkaintermittent nya :naughty:

how about SmartBro?
Tricky question hehe sa area namin, Cainta - the side near Marikina - I only had 2 choices: Globe and SmartBro. I wanted PLDT but they can't provide internet without a landline and hindi sila makaprovide ng landline because puno na raw area namin. Go figure. So goodbye PLDT. Fortunately maganda ang Smartbro dito. My 2 neighbors had SmartBro so I saw for myself na maganda sha sa area namin. 2x pa lang sha nagdown for the period of 1 year and 2 mos akong subscribed sa kanila and naayos nila agad - 24hrs turnaround time.
Advice ko sa ** ask your neighbors, see if meron may Smartbro. I asked din sa Smart Wireless Center and they were very honest about which areas ang pangit ang coverage, which ang maganda (or mabait lang yung mga employees sa branch na yun hehe)

Parang may topak ang bayantel with pppoe username (qc area). I was expecting for a dc around 10am and it did happen. Weird thing is walang nakakabit na @sod. Reconnect at nakakuha ako ng error 691. Naayos siya after 10mins.
Na dc ulit ako ngayon with a error 691(without me changing with my pppoe profile. No response sa ts dept. Naayos after 10mins.

PLDT My Dsl 85% (and would be 99% if not for a week without service , when both Landline and DSL were out) customer service is poor and knows nothing but I have no complaints at all regarding the DSL speed other than this outage.
Smart Bro prepaid 15%
got this as emergency backup , and the aggravation was terrible
it connected fine but the speed varied from 8 to about 90. when clouds came it died, and at night it was useless.
the time is also calculated in a weird way:
if you log in at 9:29 it counts as 9:00, and if you log out at 9:35 it counts as 10:00. one time I was logged in for 1 hour and 2 seconds and it counted as 1 1/2 hours.
if you get a bad connection you can't just disconnect and try again because of this stupid block time.
I think the system does have a future but only if
1) the cost is lowered; 20 pesos per hour would be 3000 a month if 5 hours a day, 6 thousand a month if 10 hours a day so this is way over priced.
2) the block time crap is ended; every dial up charged per second and there is no reason Smart Bro can't do the same. I used PLDT Vibe cards before getting DSL and they charged the normal way.
3) they advertised a realistic speed.
if they would charge 5 pesos per hour, with normal counting of the time , as one would expect to pay for dial up speed and I would rate their service much higher.

And when I try to call cust serv, ayun, palaging busy. Nag-ri-ring nga, wala namang sumasagot. What the hell’s the problem with them lately?

I have been a bayantel DSL user for two years, it has been great before but the past 2-3weeks of my internet has been connect/disconnect, even in early morning and customer service line is always busy.
Anyway, I have decided to cut it in the next few days, and I have to decide where to switch, which is the lesser evil: globe or pldt?

I'm waiting for Globe to be available here in our area, bago pa lang kasi itong subdivision, so wala pang mga poste na pwede pagkabitan ang Globe, cables etc... But once available na, goodbye SMART! Hopefully before end of this year meron na...
To add, disconnection lasts for hours, minimum of 4-6 hours. Sometimes, 10-12 hours!
I depend on the internet, I need this for my work that's why it's a big loss if my online doesn't work for hours. Customer service can be reached but they would give me same answers. Kabisado ko na nga isasagot nila. All I just tell them everytime tatawag ako is to improve their service, ganito pa sasabihin ko "you know in this business, you have lots of competitor, sinasabi ko ito di lang para sa mga subscribers nyo, kundi para din sa inyo. Paki-relay na lang ito kung saan man dapat".
Hai, so far, ganun pa rin. Kumulimlim lang wala na kong connection!

1Mbps = 1000kbps, based on the above you are running at about 25% if your subscribed speed. Bagal yan dudeyou should get at leadt 800kb/s. Ignore the 100Mbps reading, that's the maximum speed your network card can hold, not necessarily the speed of your internet connection. Just think of it as a huge pipe na daanan ng internet connection mo.

There is no such thing as "better ISP". Each provider has its own problem. I'm currently shopping around for unlimited wireless internet. Here's what I discovered:
Globe and Smart don't have any unlimited wireless internet using USB modem. Globe Visibility offers limited hours (40, 60, and 100 hours), so does Smart Bro (40 hours). But Sun Cellular has. Plan 999 for unlimited wireless 3G internet, but limited to business areas in Metro Manila. They may have been trying to upgrade their 3G facilities this time kasi nahuhuli na sila.
I applied na for Sun Broadband Wireless. I'll know the application results by Friday. I have a bad feeling about this Sun service. Good luck na lang sa kin.

Tested 7:01pm. Ayala Avenue going to Buendia then EDSA, Makati City. (Yes, i'm surfing the web in the cab.)
In fairness, okay ang Sun Cellular 3G.
Pero teka, hwag muna kayong mag-subscribe... kasi baka mag-clog bigla ang UMTS/HSDPA network nila. GSM/EDGE muna ang i-clog nyo. Hehehehehe!

Kapag peak hours, hindi tumataas sa 500kbps ang connection ko, nasa 384 the most, half ng Plan768 ko :bawl: Kapag off-peak naman, the Speed On Demand thing just helps my connection reach it's maximum speed: 768kpbs. ON OFF-PEAK
:bop:
In fairness to BayanDSL, ang turn-around ng tech-help is 24hours talaga. One time hindi ako maka-konek, after 6 hours andun na yung technician to check my connection. Kaya sana lang laging sa umaga masisira ang connection ko para before the day ends gawa na. :D
I wish I can switch to ZPDee or Cable Internet (been meaning to try it eversince) kaso hindi available sa area ko sa Manila e. Ayaw ko na ng lock-in period. I have yet to inquire sa MyDestiny.

Pro-rate nila ang charges between 8AM hanggang 1AM the following day. Hi peepz,
I need help, right now, I am currently posting this using my Globe broadband connection.
I just got it installed and this is like the 3rd day of a hell-like experience with this service.
I am just wondering why am I having an intermittent disconnection. For the past 3 days, I have been experiencing nothing but intermittent disconnection. Like after 15-20 minutes, it would get disconnected. I had to go to the modem configuration and click on connect.
It was actually better when I was still using dial-up though it's way slower, at least, I had no problems about disconnection.
I already called Globe tech 5 times, and I was already on the brink of asking for a supervisor. They even had to tell me to monitor my connection when the heck I got NO CONNECTION! Told me to monitor it and TAT would be 3-5 days. They're putting me on a dead-end situation here.
An on-site tech already went here and did some t/s, configured modem and all that. It was running smoothly so I thought everything should be okay.
Lo and behold, I got "page can't be displayed".
What the hell is happening?
WHY AM I HAVING AN INTERMITTENT DISCONNECTION?
Help.

^^ your ping is too high for a less than 50 mile distance test site.
That's why you're having intermittent connection because it's taking some time for your internet connection to response.
Is it a wired connection or the wireless one just like smartbro?

^^ your ping is too high for a less than 50 mile distance test site.
That's why you're having intermittent connection because it's taking some time for your internet connection to response.
Is it a wired connection or the wireless one just like smartbro?
It's a wired connection. 1Mbps Subscription.
How can i resolve this problem? Why is it it's taking some time to respond?
Thanks for the response.

Have Globe DSL connected today, and I'm comparing it with MyDSL. Some observations so far: loading time is slower than PLDT. I have to reload twice before getting the page I want; with MyDSL, I only occasionally have to do that. I'm still testing between the two to find out if I will make the definite switch or retain MyDSL.

Yeah, after reading this thread, I am actually wary of Globe, but we'll see how things are. So far the pages load slowly, but once it is loaded transferring to another link on the same site (say, PEX) is quite fast.

My brother has a Globe broadband (cable only) connection in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna. What I can say about it is that the service simply sucks. It's especially worse in the afternoons and evenings when we would experience disconnections almost every 10 minutes. And of course, the downloading time is sooo slow.

Day 2 (or 3) of my experience with Globe--it is slower than myDSL. My test would be to open graphic intensive sites like Level-Up Games, and with myDSL it took all of 5 seconds or so. With Globe it's like you're using dial-up--it takes forever to load (30 seconds and counting, and actually going up to a full minute). It's even worse loading video from such sites as YouTube. So far, my assessment is myDSL performs better.

Firms now more aware of blogger backlash
IRATE CUSTOMERS are turning to the Internet to get back at companies for rendering poor service, writing blogs and spreading e-mails about their experiences with a newfound source of consumer empowerment.
Firms like Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) and Cebu Pacific Air, often the subject of angry entries, are so far treating the blogger backlash as a minor concern considering that the Internet is hardly a source of accurate information, but acknowledge that it is a problem nonetheless.
Internet penetration in the Philippines is relatively small but experts note that those who have Web access are also those who have the spending power.
Nielsen Media Research estimates point to some 200,000 local bloggers to date, from just 40,000 in 2007, amplified by the popularity of social networking sites where pages can be created quickly complete with photos, video, and instant reactions.
The number of local Internet users is expected to rise to 24 million this year from 14 million in 2006 and only two million in 2000, with access and personal computers becoming cheaper and more accessible.
New technological trends, blogging in particular, are inevitable and uncontrollable, said Ateneo de Manila communications professor and marketing expert Nanette Franco Diyco.
"It’s a very modern form of communication. It’s very interesting and people can do it with terrific freedom. But by its very nature, it can be abused," she said, pointing to a surge of negative write-ups about products and services.
She cited the possibility of companies employing "bloggers" to write positive things about them as well as the danger of some businesses actually hiring people to write negative blogs about their competitors.
"It’s very open to sabotage. If you really analyze it, it’s open to lack of ethics. This is a challenge to companies but not really a public relations (PR) disaster. It can be counteracted by other PR activities or communication," Mr. Diyco said.
Globally, people now tend to rely more on consumer opinions on the Internet than on television and radio advertising, said US-based Forrester Research, Inc. In a new book published by Harvard Business Press, Forrester analysts describe the phenomenon as a "ground-swell."
"Customers are writing about your products on blogs and recutting your commercials on YouTube. They’re defining you on Wikipedia and ganging up on you in social networking sites like Facebook. These are all elements of a social phenomenon — the groundswell — that has created a permanent, long-lasting shift in the way the world works. Most companies see it as a threat," authors Charlene Li and Josh Bernoff write.
For Cebu Pacific and PLDT, negative blogs do not spell a marketing disaster but are a PR concern.
PLDT spokesman Ramon R. Isberto said the company, while aware of bloggers criticizing its "unreliable" Internet service PLDT myDSL, was finding it difficult to rein in tide of negative opinions.
"There’s nothing much you can do about it. You can’t control the blog. What you can do is to respond to whatever complaints are being aired and communicate with the persons airing the complaints. It’s a customer service issue," he said.
But blogs can also be a source of information to help address customer service issues. "It’s a PR concern. As in all PR issues, what matters is not the problem but how you respond to it," Mr. Isberto stressed.
The virtual attacks seems to be more persistent for budget carrier Cebu Pacific, with bloggers often complaining of delayed or cancelled flights and the difficulty of getting refunds. Some vow never to fly Cebu Pacific again despite bargain seat prices.
Jacinto "Jon" Limjap, Jr., who has a blogging platform at http://blog.kapenilattex.com, said entering "Cebu Pacific experience" in popular search engine Google will quickly result in a flood of negative blogs about the Gokongwei-led company.
The blog entries were written by people who don’t know each other and were only looking for avenues to voice their concerns, he said in an interview.
"Blogging is a doubled-edged sword which can be a powerful tool to disseminate information and get feedback but it can definitely be abused. Some could use it for character assassination or to defame a certain company. But then again, we should also consider the other side — many of the concerns may be valid," Mr. Limjap said.
The write-ups don’t go unnoticed, Cebu Pacific Vice-President for Marketing Candice A. Iyog said. The company actually reviews blog entries, both positive and negative, to get information and help improve products and services, she said.
"It’s a PR concern in itself but to actually make it a PR concern that we act on directly, maybe not. Blogs are forms of self-expression, there’s no way of controlling it. It would be ridiculous to come up with plan to control it. It’s hard to base an entire PR campaign just on blogs," she said.
Cebu Pacific prefers that complaints be sent to "proper avenues" such as feedback forms or letters.
"Blogs are good source of information — if you want to see what people are talking about but to make it your sole source of data gathering for product enhancement would be a bit lacking. Our main focus is on complaints directed to Cebu Pacific," Ms. Iyog said.
Early this month, a contest was launched for bloggers to write about tourist destinations in the Philippines and their Cebu Pacific experiences, offering free round-trip plane tickets.
The rules, however, state that blog posts "must not contain negative reviews of the airline or any harmful content pertaining to the airline in any manner."
"There’s really propaganda. I’ve seen other successful blogging campaigns like those of SM Hypermart and Coke Zero, which did not have the same stipulation. Obviously, the contest was meant to counter negative feedback about them," Mr. Limjap claimed.
Cebu Pacific spokesman Don Romulo Gregorio T. Orense said "It’s not a Cebu Pacific contest," but admitted that it was a sponsor of the blogging platform which organized the tilt.
At the end of the day, new media outlets can always work to a company’s advantage, Ms. Diyco said, adding companies who know better won’t even bother to respond to negative blogs.
"It’s a minor PR problem. There are good things about these blogs but they’re also dangerous so readers should be cautious and should not believe everything they read unless they’ve experienced it themselves," she said.
For his part, Mr. Isberto said he was also counting on people who frequently go online to spread word if a company is able to resolve a certain concern.
"Hopefully word will get around, too, that we are doing our job so people get a balanced view. But we have to remember that in today’s world, technology is a fact of life, it’s something we all have to face and respond to," he said.
Mediaquest Holdings, Inc., owned by the PLDT Beneficial Trust Fund, has a minority stake in BusinessWorld.

Well globe better do something about it. I have tried twice to apply with globe for their broadband service and was denied because they do not have facilities for broadband service in my area. Same with PLDTDSL and bayantel. It irritates me very much that these companies advertise their DSL service and yet when you want to apply they will tell you sorry in your area there are no facilities.

Switch to SkyBroadband.....
================================================
Surf with the faster and better SkyBroadband
The leading cable TV service provider in the country, SkyCable, has a new cable internet service called SkyBroadband, the fastest residential broadband Internet service in the country today. This amazing cable internet connection can provide up to 12 mbps download speed, which is four times faster than any residential DSL. This is because SkyBroadband uses cable lines with higher bandwidth that can carry more data, allowing faster web navigation and downloading of big files, than DSL.
The rates are very reasonable. What amazed me the most are the 6 (P3999/month) and 12 (P5999/month) mbps packages. These so far, are the fastest speeds and the best residential internet rates in the country today. What’s more, SkyCable Gold and SkyVoice Plan 100 are already included in these rates – at no extra charge! For low bandwidth users, there are plans for you as well. For only P999 per month, you already get unlimited internet connection at speed of 1.5 mbps for SkyCable subscribers and 1 mbps for non-SkyCable subscribers. Next to this is Plan 3 mbps (or 2 mbps for non-Sky subscribers) for only P1999 per month.
SkyBroadband subscribers also get discounts on their SkyCable bill (for Plans 3 and 1.5mbps). Also as an initial offering, SkyBroadband is giving a 15-day free trial for SkyCable subscribers with at least 1-year tenure and in good credit standing so they can experience for themselves the significant difference of SkyBroadband.
If you have questions, you may call their 24/7 Customer Service Hotline at 631-0000 or send a text message to (0917) 631-0000 and (0918) 638-1000. You may also visit www.skybroadband.com.ph for more information.

saang area ka ba? ako sa makati, more than 3 years na ako destiny subscriber pero ok naman except 3 months ago when they were upgrading their system kaya intermittent ang connection. other than that, ok ang service within the day ang response at ang billing on time if not i week advanced. right now my connection speed is 1025 kbps download and 508 kbps upload. i'm just speaking from experience.

:grrr:MY DESTINY Isp :bop: is so far THE WORST ISP i ever tried. They have the poorest service and the slowest connection. If I'm going to rate them its 3/10. So don't waste your money choose wisely better stick with big isp companies yung mas kilala **** na may kapalpakan atleast may pangalan kesa dito s My Destiny di na nga gnun kakilala wala pang kwenta ang service maaring maganda nga lang sila nung bago pa pero ngayon its wiser not to choose or even include them in your isp options kasi niloloko lang ang tao dami nyong contact nos. inactive naman karamihan pabago bago pa inaabot p ng 2 weeks bago may makipagcoordinate at ang billing laging late. Video streaming 4am-9am lang makakapanood the rest huh! forget about it. If someone said smart broken pinaka malala ito!
:bop:
