ey guys! instead of just bashing this school or that, why not just "sit down" and talk about what are the things that will make a school truly a great school? This, hopefully, without the unnecessary innuendos that will degrade another school for one's personal pleasure (be it true or otherwise). personally, i think these ten aspects should be the main criteria for seeing whether a university is excellent or not (yet)... of course anyone is free to add (or delete hehe)
1. Physical Plant/Facilities: Modernized laboratories/classrooms, equipment, internet capable/bandwidth per student
2. Research Capability: no. of books/articles/journals available for research per student/ quality of publications
3. Academic Standards/Requirements: grade required to pass/ grade required to be in the dean’s list, required practicum/internship/thesis
4. Academic Reputation/Selectivity: how many HS valedictorians choose to go to this university?, what % of the total applying population is actually accepted by the university
5. Student Achievements: what awards/honors/achievements have the students of this university garnered in the past year?
6. Faculty Background: Post-grad degrees, achievements, citations, awards
7. Licensure Exam Pass Rate: % of passing students in applicable licensure exams
8. Alumni Achievement: national heroes/artists, business/civic/political/medical/church leaders
9. Extra & Co-Curricular Initiatives: orgs/clubs/partnerships within or initiated by the university
10. Further Studies Capability: grad courses/degrees offered, grad student % of total student population
