Can someone please post the points tally by each team for the seniors division in the NCAA?

Medyo malabo pa isipin na kampyon ang Blazers kung lamang ng kaunti tayo sa iba. ;)

ANIMO BENILDE!!!

Benilde wins first NCAA overall title

http://www.mb.com.ph/SPRT2006030457716.html

AS COLLEGE of St. Benilde gears up for its 2006 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) hosting, it ended the just-concluded 81st season in style.

In one of the most colorful and memorable NCAA overall hostings by Letran College, it was the Blazers who made a historic mark as they officially bagged their first ever overall title of the country’s oldest college-based tournament.

Only in its eighth year in the NCAA, CSB dominated three of the 10 sports disciplines – chess, table tennis and beach volleyball – while it displayed its strength consistently in other events like taekwondo, football and swimming.

"We close the 821st NCAA season, thankful for a successful hosting and hopeful that the incoming season would be likewise successful,’’ said 2005 NCAA Policy Board president, Fr. Edwin Lao, OP of Letran College.

In the official tally released by the NCAA secretariat, the Taft-based school garnered a total of 233 points, dethroning the Philippine Christian University Dolphins who finished second overall with 207.5 points.

The Dolphins, who also relinquished the basketball title to the Knights last September, capped their 2005 campaign by winning the track and field event recently at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex track oval. It wasn’t enough, however, to topple St. Benilde.

The Blazers’ rise to the top was not surprising after all as they figured prominently in last year’s race for the overall title, finishing third behind the Dolphins and the San Sebastian College Stags. There is no stopping them this time.

Bernie Atienza, St. Benilde’s representative to the NCAA Management Committee (MANCOM), attributed the Blazers’ success to hard work and perseverance, which they hope to carry on as they prepare for a bigger challenge, the NCAA hosting.

"We are all primed up for the hosting,’’ said Atienza, adding that the opening ceremonies is set June 24 at the Araneta Coliseum.

San Sebastian finished anew at third place (192.5), followed by Letran at fourth (168), San Beda college at fifth (136), Mapua at sixth (78), University of Perpetual Help System DALTA at seventh (40) at Jose Rizal U at eighth (11).

A turnover ceremonies, a traditional gathering among member schools, is set on March 15, 10 a.m. at the student Center of Colegio de San Juan de Letran as the Knights formally pass the 82nd NCAA hosting to the Blazers.

Congrats sa CSB Blazers for winning the overall seniors division title for the first time! :bounce:

Kahit hindi tayo umasenso sa basketball eh at least umasenso ang ibang sports na hindi natin napapansin dahil walang exposure! Kudos to the athletes! ;)

Galingan nila sa pag-host next season at sana back-to-back sila sa overall title! :D

Why bro Rocker09? Do you think they made a big change? Remember... our school/alma mater is the last place during the cheering competition. :(
