Got this saddening news from a classmate and the DLSU Campus Chat Section :(

The Lasallian Community is saddened by the death of our President Emeritus, Br. Andrew Gonzales. He died earlier, at 1740H or 5:40 pm. He has been elemental and key of La Salle's successes through the years, and he was a former DepEd Secretary. He has achieved the transformation of DLSU-M as a research university and a top caliber in its class nowadays. May he rest in Him Forever. He and his achievements and dreams for us will be remembered forever.

Live Jesus in our Hearts, FOREVER.

He was a very visible figure of De La Salle U during my time walking around campus, visiting classes, encouraging LaSallians to excel, and even pacifying us during heated UAAP games against Ateneo. Rest in peace to our dearest elder ...
