1. cleanse your skin, kahit you just woke up and cleansed your skin the previous night

2. tone; apply toner

3. moisturizer/sunblock with spf 15 or more

4. apply foundation; if you don't like to wear foundation, powder

5. apply concealer under your eye using ring finger

6. shape eyebrow by filling in with eyebrow shadow: I prefer the shadow than the pencil- it has a more natural effect. Finish off the eyebrow with by brushing them.

7. apply eyeshadow; lightest shadow on the brow bone, medium tone to the mid section, and the darkest shadow on the crease; practice makes perfect.

8. I take a soft pencil and just line very lightly on the outside...then I take a tiny brush and put dark color eyeshadow and go around the line I just put in.

9. Take a blush brush and blend my eyeshadow.

10. Apply blush on my cheekbone.

11. Line lips with pencil lip pencil and fill in lips with the same liner to keep the lipstick to stay together. You can either put on coordinating lipstick or just put lipgloss. My favorite Lancome Juicy Tube.

Now you're ready to face the world.

Can I put on eye cream during the day? I mean sa morning ko apply. If it's okay, then what should be the order of application? Eye cream then moisturizer (not to be applied sa eye area) then concealer?

^ Eye creams should be applied during the night, before sleep para relaxed *** eyes with eyelids closed.

1. According to my make up artist friend, the lower lip must be shinier than the upper lip para di mag mukhang maga ang lips, especially in pictures. :)

2. Put emphasis on one feature only.

3. When applying mascara, strokes/coating must be evenly applied.

4. Very important - moisturize before application!

5. It's hard to apply lipstick on dry chapped lips. Exfoliate by brushing it gently with soft bristled toothbrush or lightly rubbing tissue on it.

apply setting powder with a brush
eyeshadow
curl lashes

and may i add, that accdg to some of make up artists i know, match dapat ang shade ng lips sa cheeks. i.e: peach ang blush, peach din dapat ang lips; pag berry blush, berry lips. pero pag nude lip stuff, it can go with any blush color. pero pag brown/neutral-ish blush, dapat nude lips din ata, with this im not sure. pero tinry ko *** blush ko brown/neutral-ish tapos reddish berry lips, parang di bagay. would someone please correct me on this? hehe

madaming basic make up application workshops these days, *** tipong for a day lang. if you already know the basics, madali na lang un...meron ding workshops na tuturuan kayo ng mga techniques pa, tipong pang ala-pro na. ;)

emer of MAC and a friend of mine conduct make up workshops every now and then. pm me if interested, para mabigay ko contact #'s nila. :)

para sa short courses, meron sa singapore, 2 days lang un ata basta less than 5 days. and sa frank provost dito sa pinas :D

bubblebrain: *** rule ko naman regarding blush-on is NOT to use the same shade of color, like for example, when i do the "nautical look" that's very popular nowadays, i use light pink blush and faint peach lipstick to complement the dark, brownish eyeshadow. for me, i find it boring to stick to the similar colors all the time. our makeup artists & stylists at MEG & MEGA always tell us not to be afraid to EXPERIMENT, MIX & MATCH and most importantly, to BLEND, BLEND, BLEND :)

rule of thumb always apply moisturizer and sunblock before applying make up. medicate if you have breakouts. the face is like the canvass in a painting, it should look close to perfection...so use a good foundation and loose powder. for me, mascara, curlash, blush on that will give you a natural flushed look and neutral lipgloss particularly peach is great. don't forget concealer. :) don't go with make up that'll will just make you worry whether na smudge ba siya...basta wherever you're comfortable go!
