I chose engineering because it is more of analyzation.. less memorization..

Pero, meron namang BS Math na pure analyzation.. so why engineering?
*Mas maraming opportunities ang engineer than mathematician in the future. We need to be practical.. And besides almost 3/4 of the mathematical subjects taught in bs math is also given to engineering courses.. kaya yun...
And may plus factor ka pa dahil alam mo ang Physical Sciences like chem, physics and mechanics..

Why Electrical?
* Di talaga Electrical. Una ECE.. Kaya lang di ko pinasa yun.. so Electrical..But now, gusto ChE.. kaya next year ChE na ko..

Why pa?
*Konti ang English and Filipino Subjects.. :)

My course: ECE

Reason: Wala masyado. I did good in physics, math and computer classes naman in high school so I assumed na I could survive. Awa ng Diyos nakatapos naman.

The only way to be rich is to be financially literate so Accounting and Finance rules! Too bad I took International Studies and Marketing huhu!

The world is ten years old and the new globalization system will require more computer experts to plug the world together faster than ever so Computer Science is a good choice.

Lawyers? We'll probably need them more than ever with the walls of the Cold War blown away. As economic barriers are brought down, laws should get more complicated and what more does one need than a good legal advice and protection.

Im now a Registered EE and I never regret na nag stay ako sa EE.
I work in a Semicon Company here in Singapore (at the my very young age)and most of my colleagues were ECE grads. ..to think we have the same job and salary.
Thats when I realized na pwede rin pala i-invade ng EE ang electronics and Semicon industry. I also know some of EE grads working in Globe and Smart.

ChE kasi mas may link sa medicine (who knows, I may soon discover the cure for AIDS), tapos ang saya palang magdrawing ng mga chemical structures, pati na rin yung nuclear chem, I love and it and sa future gusto kong industry ay all about chemicals - corporations like pfizer, procter and gamble, unilever, etc.

And isa pa, walang mechanical drafting ang ChE sa majoring. Sa 1st yr college lang. Drafting is really my waterloo. I really dont know how to start my drawing (including in autocad).. Well yun talaga.

And Lastly, pag may kaaway ako, pwede akong gumawa ng sariling NitroGlycerine Bomb, Fusion Bomb, o kaya pakainin ko ng Arsenine,.. Haha.. (A big joke ko lang po ito, di ko to gagawin promise!)...

Basta ngayon I love chemistry na din hehe.. Including Organic, Inorganic, Analytic, Physical Principles, BioChemistry, NanoChem.. etc.

@student_01: Well, my dear co-thomasian (if you really are), sana pag lawyer ka na, at nagustuhan mong tumakbo sa politics, sana manalo ka :) and sana paunlarin mo din ang Pilipinas.. :)

I really wanted to be doctor when in HS. Pero sabi ng Dad ko try ko Engineering, so I looked at the job maket tapos tignan ko kung ano pinaka indemand in Eng course. In the end I took Industrial Engineering at naisip ko challenging yung maraming math. I have come to love it.

Its nice naman I could apply what I learn. Tapos new perspective yung dala ko sa company.

Why? Back in my senior HS days, I was good in chemistry and mathematics, so ChE fits the bill. And besides, I really wanna have the title of "Engineer" in my name...

...and now I have it, wala lang :rotflmao:

I took up Eng'g because TAMAD AKONG MAG MEMORIZE *okay*

I would rather stay in a corner the whole day and delve on how a particular math equation was derived than memorize a two-stanza poem. Besides, memorizing is the (s)lowest form of learning.

There is no way you can be rich by remaining employed no matter how much you are paid but I do agree that IT professionals are among the highest paid in the job market. In addition, its easy for IT professionals to establish their own businesses given that information technology is the backbone of the globalization age i.e. that Banatao guy who has this business empire at Silicon Valley :)

Siguro okey then BS Computer Science - IT plus MBA *okay*

Not really. IT salaries have been on a steady decline since the IT boom. P750k a month (A$225,000 per annum) is not very attainiable especially if you work for a company. The average fresh CS/IT graduate in Australia probably earns an average of P150k a month (A$45,000 per annum) but considering the living expenses here it's not that much. It's just the average middle class wage. The only time you are going to earn P750k a month or A$225,000 per annum is if you are a board member of a large company, a very successful scientist at a research lab or if you own your own business. That kind of salary is very very rare for an IT professional.

I'm a BS Psychology student major in Clinical Psychology. nung 4th year hs ako, napilit din ako ng mama ko mag nursing pero after our career week, dun ko naisip na i want something else. sabi kasi samin nung isang teacher namin, we dont have to conform sa uso (meaning, di kailangan lahat mag nursing). dito daw sa pinas, paunting paunti yung mga scientists and all the other proffesionals na related sa science dahil lahat gusto mag nursing. i fought with my mom on how much i want to take up something related to writing. my titos and titas even talked me out of choosing another course. both my sisters are Mass Comm students and they dont want another one. so pinag-isipan ko: anong science course ang ite-take ko na hindi nursing pero gusto ko? there goes psych. i've always been interested sa psych kahit nung bata pa ko. and yes, i have plans to go to grad school para maging full-fledged shrink ako. medyo mahirap at matagal pero i can see myself doing this in the future kaya aja aja fighting!!
