Jan 23, 2006, 11:45 PM

6. In demand ang music teachers sa North America
7. Encoders / composers ng mga polyphonic ringtones

In the business world, I think BSC Accounting and BSC Finance is the most underated given the advent of globalization, information age, and democratization of finance. Industrial Age businessmen still give premium to BSC Marketing Management.

Of course this is suicide on my part 'coz I'm in the process of completing my Master of Science in Marketing Management hehe!

Damn! Should have taken another course!

Sa UST-Facuty of Arts & Letters, lahat yta eh under-rated courses with the exception of AB Communication Arts.

Among the 10 courses being offered in AB, 5 courses are least populated comprising of 1 and not exceeding to 2 section per batch,...or so to speak the most under-rated of the under-rated.hehe, but it doesnt mean na porke konti lang sila eh bale-wala na lang ***....NOPE! Students who are in these fields are smarter and more competent pa nga kung kukumpara sa iba...

These courses are the:

AB ASIAN STUDIES (where I belong!) hehe
AB ECONOMICS (CHED'S Center of Development)
AB LITERATURE (Center of Excellence)
AB PHILOSOPHY (Center of Excellence)
AB SOCIOLOGY (future sociologist and critic)

i have a friend who's also an OrgCom major (UP Manila)... sa mgbbarkada, kami lang yung bukod tanging kakaiba ang course (im taking up AB Asian Studies),,, Trivia: Correct me if im wrong, in the whole Philippines, there are only two universities that are offring a bachelor's degree in OrgCom, UP Mnila and De La Salle; and in there is only one university that is offering a bachelor's degree in Asian Studies ....which is UST!

Over-rated is totally difernt from underrated... pag-over rated ang course, un *** mga course na malaki ang demand, at mas kilala kadalasan 'quota' course pa nga sa ibang univrsity... ex: Engineering, Comp Sci, Busness Ad, Nursing...

:rotflmao: I find your post amusing. Well, pagpasensyahan mo na yung mga ibang tao na nagtatanong who can't help but laugh. Perhaps they're just amused that's all. To me, I find options 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 very appealing. *okay*

Personally, I hold music majors in high esteem, particularly those who study in UST and UP. When I would drop by the Education Bldg. in college, I can't help but respect music majors because they are filled with so much passion. Kakaiba ang Albertus Magnus when these guys start playing! :D Plus, knowing that they are doing what they love best makes me respect them even more, especially at a time when most students are forced to take courses that they don't like just so they could earn big bucks.

On topic, I think the most underrated course would have to be education. It's easily overlooked but when you think about it, teachers guide us and help us become who we want to be in life, which makes education the most underrated course, and teaching the noblest profession. :)

I think among the most under rated course is BS Applied Economics. If you want to survive the globalization era, you have to take advantage of the democratization of finance. The only way to survive in today's world is to create your own wealth!

More under rated courses, meaning they're not necessarily the best but neither are they as lousy as most people think:

UST Law
UST Accounting
UST Music
Ateneo Business Management
DLSU Legal Management
^My lawyer friend says its the best pre-law, in fact its curriculum
covers exactly every subjects of law proper!
Arellano Law
UP Diliman Business Administration
Adamson Computer Science
^Baka lang, I heard majority of computer virus were created by
Adamson students hehe!
AMA Computer Science
^My friend in the IT industry says AMA performs better than his
LaSallian or Atenean counterparts when it comes to programming. In fact he said LaSallians and ATeneans are lousy programmers. Hindi naman siya siguro biased sinced he is a La Salle alumnus.

^ My dearest authentic Atenean (unaudited),

Allow me to rearrange your sentences along the nobility of standard American English:

"have you actually studied IN those schools you mentioned?"

Better yet, how about reconstructing it to sound more Atenean:

"have you been a student in at least one of the schools you cited?"

Tee hee!

The answer is yes, I was a student in at least one of those institutions of learning.

Ateneo business management?

mga english or pilipino (english studies, comparative literature, araling pilipino, malikhaing pagsulat sa pilipino etc.) courses, library science, sociology, philosophy rin, social work and development, anthropology minsan.
