what's in today?

I"m trying to change my ever-the-same hairstyle (layered shoulder lenth hair)

I'm thinking of letting it permed/ curl just below my hair. I am thinking of the 'goldilock' kind of curl, but only at the bottom.

Where's the best salon to go to?

I was wondering, how can you comb your hair if it is curled that way? HIndi ba mag bubuhag hag if you did or the curls won't be in place anymore?

With that pic of Paris Hilton na curl yung hair, you don't need to get a perm/curl to achieve that look. Biggest misconception is that when you get a perm you won't have to style it. You do, more so than if you had a straight hair. If you do get a perm to prevent it from getting buhaghag, you have to use a wide tooth comb. Yung parang comb nang mga itim. Other wise it will be freezy and you'll be sporting a fro instead. After showering you also have to use a styling product...be it gel, mousse, or anti-freezing spray...depending if you want that wet look or want a romantic curly curls.

To achieve that look on Paris try these steps;
When you first get out of the shower and blot your hair, spray a volumizing spray on the roots of your hair. Then blow dry it with your head upside down. When you get most of the moisture out. take a big round brush and take each section and curl it under. The secret is don't blow dry with the brush facing down...dapat papalayo...pataas so your hair will get that bump and volume. Then take another section and repeat the process. You will achieve that sexy and natural but a lot of volume and movement in your hair. If you want to go further with that pic of Paris, get a big fat curling iron, preferrably yun ceramic so as to minimize damage to your hair ( there is also a protective spray that you can spray before you blowdry and use the curling iron) and curl it. To get that curl, you have to curl it vertically...hindi yung under then nasa baba lahat yung hair. Section your hair to be curled...take the end to the curling iron...then wrap the curling iron around your hair vertically. Keep the curling iron like that for about a minute. Put a good hair spray like the one from Paul Mitchell.

My hair is about the bra line. I can never decide whether I want it curly or straight. I can't get a perm because my hair is heavily highlighted na and it would just fall out daw sabi nang mga hairdresser that's colored my hair. I like Jennifer Aniston's hair (hell, who doesn't!) and the romantic curls that I see on some stars. I can achieve both depending on the time that I have and mood. I'm not restricted to just one style. My hairstylist gave me a great cut...you've always have to start with a great cut. I've had highlights most of my life. I just don't look good with dark/black hair. The last time I went for retouch on my highlights, I told her to put on some lowlights to complement the highlights. It turned out great. She was able to tone down some blonde highlights and put on some honey blonde highlights.

I think hairstyle is important ladies. Kahit naka-make-up and todo porma, if my hair is not styled then nothing else matters.

Good communication with your hairstylist is a must. When I make appointments, I make sure to tell the receptionist to make time so I can consult with the hairstylist first before ever touching my hair. I am particular about my hair and I want to make sure that we are on the same level and an honest and credible hairstylist will tell you honestly if they can realistically achieve the look that you are going for. Ask questions about products they are using on you and tell them to show you how they are styling your hair while they are doing it. Speak up if they are not doing it the way you want them to.

There is not one particular style that's hot this season/year. You can go short or long, curl or straight. Look at the style that you are trying to emulate. Then evaluate your hair and be realistic. If you can't get that style you are dying to get, are there any version for your type of hair? And remember those ladies we see on mags have countless of people doing their hair and make-up. So look at your lifestyle too. If you are always on the go a bouncy romantic hair like the one above of Paris might not work for you. Consider your face and hair structure when choosing a hairstyle. Ask yourself if you can really commit 30 to 45 minutes on styling your hair like the one on the picture.

And remember if you or your hairstylist make a mistake, don't fret...it's only hair and it'll grow back. I know my hair has been to hell and back. :D

I had a version of this cut before...Ask your hairstylist to give you a razor cut with wispy ends. Of course to achieve this look you've gotta apply some major gel action and hair spray at the ends.

After taking a shower, blot your hair with a towel, spray lots of spray gel, voluminz spray at the roots of your hair. blow dry upside down making sure to scruch hair at the same time. Once dry take about a dime size of pomade or some gel type product...warm that product by rubbing it together in your hands then run that through the ends of your hair...making sure you
that you don't apply it on your roots...it will weigh your hair down...just play with it to get that spiky effect then spray with a good hair spray.

i can't think of this gel that i used when my hair was kinda like this...parang cement something...let me know if you want the name and i'll look for it upstairs...my little boys use it to spike their hair...talagang parang cemento

i know exactly what you feel. I have straight hair and I just had a perm 2 weeks ago, just to try something different because I feel really bored with what I looked like. And i must say, it's worth it. It made me feel different. There's this new technology, called digiperm and that's what they did to me. It's actually free, in my case, cause I had my perm in a hairdressing school in greenhills and they're just tring out their new products called scharzkopf [tama ba?] so they just experimented with my hair and no frills! as in, it's really nice. I said I wanted the curls to be just in the bottom and it was. At first syempre super curls pero after a few days it settled itself. One of the rules is that I can't brush my hair. There's no frills at all, just put some no-frillz conditioner on it and your done. I like it better this way because it has more volume. Kahit sabog, maayos tignan. Try it. Wala namang mawawala sayo eh.

that's exactly what they did to me. I was like "model". Feel ko naman, haha! But it was more on experimentation and teaching their students. But it worked out fine. And it was for free. So cool lang.

ooh_lalahh hehe. sa greenhills yun eh. Sa pink building beside montesorri.. in 4 months pa daw ulit *** free perming nila. I'll tell u nalang. No guarantees though.

GilmoreGal no, not even combing. It's not even advisable to comb it using ur hands. Masisira daw. Just let it be. Para morning look, i think its better that way. Nakakasawa kasi *** straight hair na sobrang ayos, di na uso [for me]

And one more thing, the people who did my hair told me that baka daw hindi mag-click ang digiperm sa mga salon dito. It takes too long kasi. For me, it took around 5 hrs. 1-6 pm.

Had my hair digi permed (or was it a setting perm?) at Tony and Jackey. Last November, when I had it done, it cost Php 3,500. ANY LENGTH. So sulit if you have long hair. I inquired at YOU salon before I had it done at T and J's..parang Php6K ang quoted price nila for my hair length. D'oh!
Anyway, at T and J's , a Korean stylist does the cutting and perming. 3 months later, kulot na kulot pa rin hair ko. The stylist doesn't speak English or Tagalog, so you tell the receptionist (who translates to the stylist) what kind of curls you like. So I suggest you bring a picture of what style you like.
If you're really anal about telling the stylist what you like or don't like baka lang medyo matakot nga kayo magpakulot sa T and J's kasi nga baka di kayo magkainitindihan. But for me naman, I just insisted on BIG curls, ok naman yung cut din and the end result. I got so many compliments.
T and J's, I heard, is also popular for rebonding.
It's in Malate, off remedios street. #302-1984

i just got a digital perma month ago & i've never been happier. so easy to style. just comb after shampooing while wet w/ a wide tooth comb. i apply VO5 grip it gel. the best product for my curls (i have the l'oreal mousse - waste of money)

when i wake up i just wet my hair & apply a tad more gel mixed w some water & i'm done!

oh i also blow dry my bangs (before adding gel to my locks).

my curls are from the ear to bra line

singil sa kin 4,800 sa david's cebu

lhat ng davids meron digiperm pero mas recommended ang YOU salon for that kc un ang expertise nila

Gilmoregal : hindi po perm yan her na yan, setting lang yan :D pero u can try asking the stylist to use thier biggest curling pin pagnagpaperm ka :D who know dba? usually ganyan anman ang kalabasan or atleast malapit sa ganyan, then dont comb ur hair na kasi magloloose *** curls :D

oh Tony and Jackey sa Remedios ST. ok din magperm

i have naturally wavy hair and i used to curse it.i fought against my hair for the longest time, i always blowdried it straight until i read this book "the fashionista files"
i now shampoo every other day and i use loreal shine curl shampoo(if i wanna emphasize my curls)i use lots of regular conditioner especially on the ends of my hair to keep it moisturized.on other days i use lee stafford's messed up shampoo and regular condition and let my hair air dry.i dont brush my hair i detangle it by using a wide toothed comb.
to style my hair, i use Binge Give it a Swirl Curl Enhancer(wavy-just-got-back-from-the-beach-hair) or Citre Shine Curl Booster(more defined curly locks)

its not easy having curly hair.trust me.its a lot of work to maintain it.
MOISTURIZE.very important.
