most jeans around have rivets on the stress points, i'm concerned specifically on the top corners of the back pocket.

i have a pair which doesn't have those. it has rivets on the front pockets and the watch pocket, but none on the back pockets.

should i go to my tailor and put those rivets in? or would it disrupt its functional design in a sense that it might do more harm than good (fabric damage)?

you don't have to add rivets. leave them as is. they're built strong enough to handle daily wear and tear. also, there are a lot of brands (of jeans) that don't use rivets on the back pockets, and they work just fine.
