Why compare the two school?

==================================================

I can't say. Ateneo is somewhat a newbie in ECE program. I
don't know a lot about them.

^ i was asking about the products of their programmes pala, not the school per se. kasi kung school, pantay lang sila. Mas marami lang siguro ang students sa PUP, pero mas maraming social-climber sa Ateneo, napansin ko.

haven't had the chance to interact with any Ateneo or PUP ECE alumni in my previous jobs so i really can't compare. nonetheless, i never really believed that it's the school which determines how good a "product" student turns out to be... in my humble opinion, at least 90% of what a student has become is the product of his own hardwork and decisiveness, or lack of such.

for instance, many of you seem to pretend that you're from this or that school... you tirelessly attempt to bash and humiliate other PEXers instead of engaging in rather meaningful intellectual discussions --that is your decision and i pity you for it.

Hi, medyo wala sa mga choices (Ateneo or PUP), but I will suggest UST for ECE.

I'm not from UST but I met and worked with a lot of UST ECE grads here in Tokyo. Walang palpak at kayabangan. :)

Obvious naman kung ano ang motive mo in starting this thread.

sus, comparing Ateneo's ECE to PUP is not bashing. dapat nga matuwa ang ateneo, kasi kahit boplaks ang ECE program nila nakukumpara sila PUP, a very good 'public' U. :D

^^ what the hell is BOPLAKS?

ATENEO's ECE is relatively new, but it has already produced great ECEs! and please lang, PUP is a public school so sa UP TUP at PLM nio i compare. people here will do everything jsut to bash.

Why compare Ateneo and PUP? Because both scored similarly in the last ECE board (roughly 57%).

So why the difference in tuition? 2,500 per unit versus only 12/unit?

blue4real
Feb 3, 2006, 05:31 AM
^^ 57%?? give me your proof.
as far as i know, last year we got 100% passing rate for ECE. that's 2 out of 2!

Go Ateneo!

Whatsamatta, can't believe 57% was all Ateneo can manage? This was posted by an Atenean in Ateneista.net:

ECE in the ateneo is more focus on research than passing the board exams. also, one of the good things about ECE at The Ateneo is that students are offered a job right before their graduation. :)

Adamson's college of engg is underrated, when in fact it has more engg courses that are COD/Es than Mapua and Lasalle, w/c are more famous schools in this field.

What's your proof? Nag-graduate ka na ba? Nagtatrabaho ka na ba? Magkano ang yearly income mo?

I graduated from Adamson U. Bago ako nag-graduate, 3 Japanese companies ang nag-offer sa akin ng trabaho, all because I was a student of Adamson University. Ang totoo, would you believe me kung sabihin ko sa iyo na I was panicking kung alin ang itu-turn down ko na kompanya noon? So ok naman ang napili kong company and from there everything went well.

Would you believe na naka-encounter pa nga ako ng trabaho which to my surprise is para ayusin ang kapalpakan ng ilang mga tao doon sa "sikat-na-sikat" at itinuturing na no.1 daw na unibersidad. To give you a clue, maybe may taong involved dito na makakabasa:

Isang amerikano ang nagpagawa daw ng program doon sa mga taong na sikat-na-sikat" na university na ito. Tapos yong kawawang kano, kasi sikat yong university kaya doon nagpagawa ng program. To make it short, yong kano, nandito sa Japan para ipaayos yong palpak.

Nagulat na lang nang malamang Pinoy ako but I told him I'm not a graduate from that univ. I'm from Adamson university, low profile. :rotflmao:

I greatly appreciate your observation...I wish you're not an Adamsionian. I believe ADU can compete with UST, DLSU and UP interms of quality education, but unfortunately AdU entrance exam is one of the easiest otherwise walang enrollees na papasok. but I can prove how AdU can give quality education same of those schools I have mentioned.

how sad :(

Sino namang maniniwala sayo ng ganon ganon na lang?
You should've prove it..send some links with statistical data, articles etc...

What is the board passing rate of Ateneo ECE every year as to compare with other schools?
What are the programs of Ateneo ECE? What makes you different from other schools?
Which electronics and/or communication industry you tied up with?
Any extra ordinary invention made by ECE students of Ateneo?

Im not bashing your school..Im bashing your posting attitude.

hi, im currently a CE major at ADMU, after graduating from 4 years of BS physics.
------objective-------
I think ADMU PUP, UP ADAMSON, LaSAlle, and all those other universities mentioned above are roughly equal in terms of the quality of instruction. I know some ADU and UP profs who're really good mentors. And they 're really close with my profs at ADMU. I can almost tell that their brains resonate to the frequency of each other whenever they're gathering.

ADu roxxorz at other engineering fields like geodetics and stuff.
UP owns 'em all when you start talking about the facilities. Maybe Mapua has about the same amount of equipment to play around with in the labs, but i haven't been there.
-------subjective--------------
I dont understand how i can compare myself or the program im taking to the PUP counterparts. maybe it's because i havent been to the real world and im ignorant about ECE careers.
What i understand though, is that i'll take a full 4-year CoE course in 2 sems + 1 summer. it's 4 am and i just finished wiring my 4th uC in 2 weeks.

peace out!
