yeah explored the last pages of it. the thread has gotten too big for it to be practical. i started a new one since the year is fairly new, and 2006 trends and updates could be posted here as the year progresses.

thanks man! btw, any tips? im fairly a newbie when it comes to "fashionable" :)

(keep the budget low, fresh working grad hehe :D)

1. don't get anything that's baggy.

2. classic advice- stick with the basics, neutral colors, keep it to a minimum.

(the last part is hard to live by)

accessories are for dolls not for men. one is enough. (that's all i can think of).

lastly, don't wear knock offs & learn to love yourself.

wear a perfume.
there is no such thing as perfume for men. they're only for ladies. men use cologne.

I'm going for preppy this year, haha.
It's hard to find stuff nga lang locally, we have so limited brands to choose from :|

speaking of which, ang gagaling pumili ng shirts ng mga atenista, ang hirap tuloy pumili ng shirt kasi yung mga magaganda, palaging magkakaron ka ng kaparehas sa school o_o for some weird reason, para bang same stores ang pinupuntahan ng mga atenista.

random thought lang.

same here, im going for preppy too for this year. im keeping my loose straights in the closet for a while and go with slim boot cuts.

and yeah, when i was in school pa medyo mahirap nga humanap ng "uncommon" shirt. but you can try buying sa penshoppe or sa bench, malamang konti lang meron ng mga nun sa school hehehe.

slim straight pants work for slim, tall or short guys, pero pag mejo nasa plus size ka (whether tall or short), flared pants can work (pwede na rin boot cut) coz it balances the weight on your top.

for the tops, layering is still in the trend, but unlike last year na contrast color layering(black on white, blue and red)... this year magkapareho ng shade (white on dirty white hehe light blue and blue) heheheh *okay*

off topic lang:
that i would have to agree. there was even a time when two friends came to school wearing exactly the same shirt. hindi naman daw nila pinag-usapan. classic yung reaction nila nung nagkita sila sa orgroom namin sa colyaco <waaah... colayco>

For 2006, i bet close-fit (not tight-fit) clothes will continue to be "in". I'm starting to see orange, green and red being the trend colors. But that's just what's going on around me... lookup the fashion mags to be sure.

But simple is always IN, no matter what the fashion trend is. And you don't have to wear Armani to keep it simple... just make sure the clothes are fresh and pressed, and shoes are clean.

And don't forget to keep your whole body fresh, and put on a light fragrance.

be simple. wear well coordinated shirts, jeans and accessories. i think ethnic bracelets and necklaces will still be IN this year. ragged statement shirts also.

Ano ba ang magandang watch na pwedeng pang casual, pang sporty look, pang japorms look, at pang semiformal at formal look? :)

Kaya gusto ko yung bibilhin ko eh will go for any look. :) Sorry kung medyo OT. :)

For an everyday watch you can opt for Swatch.

Their Irony, Chrono, Automatic, Skin-metal lines are my choices.

They can almost go with every occassion.

If you are to buy only 1 watch, I suggest the following criteria:
- white/silver face... it will go with anything and looks classy
- non-chrono... some chrono watches look too sporty to be formal
- metal (non gold) strap... more durable than leather and looks sporty and formal

i agree with Clawed_Out, swatch makes nice everyday watches. Seiko too.

of course, there are exceptions to the rules.

Thanks Nerfy!

Pardon my ignorance, but what is chrono? Also, what do you mean by there are exceptions to the rules? Do you mean there are Swatch watches that are not ok?

Chronograph watches are the ones with the 3 little dials on the face. Some tell a 2nd time zone, but most are for stopwatch purposes. if you want one watch, i suggest sticking to a nice, plain, clean face.

When I meant that there are exceptions to the rules, i mean that these are just guidelines... for example, theres this nice Tag Heuer Link Chrono Automatic that I personally think looks very good with formal wear.

In all brands, some watches are sportier / funkier than others. Im not just talking about Swatch.

Swatch is so-so. Changes models very quick...so it's not an investment watch...more of a fashion watch. The cheapest decent watch I would suggest is Swiss Army...if you have more money, get a Tag Heuer. Tag is a very versatile watch...sporty yet elegant. If you feel rich, get an IWC or a Rolex watch...those will last you a lifetime and definitely an investment. :)

Maganda yung Tag F1...either yung regular watch or yung chrono. Dami nga pa-simple na tao...naka patek, rolex...tapos naka shorts at tsinelas lang...hehehe.

Daming Tag Heuer Fans ah. Didn't really want to suggest a specific brand though but since daming nag suggest, I concur with the rest. :)

I personally own 3 Tag Heuers... the oldest one I have is 14 years old and it still looks good on my wrist. In fact, I wore it today. :)

Anytime soon titingin nako sa malls for a watch. Definitely titingnan ko yung mga suggested brands niyo, which are Swatch, Swiss Army, and Tag Heuer.

Ngayon, suggest naman kayo for leather sandals and for leather shoes. :D

Try mo Cole Haan or Ferragamo for black suede.

clawed_out
Mar 3, 2006, 11:12 AM
Cole Haan doesn't have much suede on their shoes.

it really depends on what you're dressing about.

1) night out - long sleeves / dark coloured slacks / tight-*** loafers
2) mall - pang mall is neutral colour collared shirt / jeans / sneakers
3) school - normal wear... dressing up for school for me is like "bahala na"
4) dates - should wear a polo shirt and khaki pants
5) clubbing - please, please, don't dress like a hip-hop artist.

clawed_out
Mar 3, 2006, 02:09 PM
neo: you're right about the hiphop clothing. Don't even think about wearing those, even baggy jeans when going to a club. There's no way (even if you bribe the bouncers) they'll let you in.

/btw, bribes = 20$. It goes higher if the club is upscale.

No comparison needed between Swatch, Swiss and Tag...

Try Traffic or People are People sa Town Center...

For sneakers go for Adidas (it never goes out of style) I used to have Adidas Dragon (*** suot ni Mark Renton sa Trainspotting) 6 years ago eventually nasira na ***, later nakita ko sa botique nila sa Town meron na ulit available na Dragon kaya bili agad ako kc sulit *** kiks, masarap sa paa at hindi mahirap damitan...

For sandals, hmmmmmm, flip-flops lang na two tone or leather one at Our Tribe ok na... samahan mo na din ng Levi's jeans or Quicksilver shorts (not surfing)... batas na batas ang dating mo maski plain white shirt lang suot mo...
