Just want to know what your ideal car is and what features it should have, and also the style.
I would love to own a plain Honda Civic. It should be color silver.

hmmm well..i'm trying to bargain with my mom..if i live in hoboken, NJ and not in manhattan, she would buy me a jetta to go to work in the city. I would love a silver jetta GL TDI :D but ideally, i would rather have a land rover discovery in taxi yellow

The Rock's formula red Civic SiR is already his dream car.;) The Rock never thought he would have a flaming red car, even in his wildest dreams, but here it is. If The Rock had not gotten his Civic, The Rock really wanted the 2000 Toyota Rav4. That thing looks cool inside and outside, and there's no doubting the quality of a Toyota.;) The Rock's dad has a Y2K Mercedes Benz C200, so you could also consider that blue machine his dream car. Kung di lang sana palinggit at palagasgas ang Pinoy, eh di mas mamamaneho ni erpats ang kotse niya.:(
If you smell what The Rock is cookin!

However, a nearby bimmer dealer has a vintage BMW M6 in great shape and in bright red and I find myself glancing at it as I drive by.

BMW M5. a benchmark for sport sedans. corvette-like acceleration, crisp handling, 4 doors, understated looks and a stick to boot.
the ultimate ultimate driving machine.
My ideal car will always be a 3rd gen or 4th gen Camry!
A poor man's Lexus with a fine, smooth, and responsive accelleration over the throttle coupled with an excellent luxury features and nice look makes this baby my Ideal car, not exactly my dream car, but my Ideal car! I'm so glad I drive one. :D
My dream car is either a Viper or a Vette for a muscle car, and M3 or Supra on the import side. :) sweeeet.

Are you located in the US? Looks like you are since such a bad *** car like what you have would cost a fortune in Manila. BTW, just saw a Brabus S500 on the NJ turnpike a few days ago. One of the kidney doctors who works in my hospital also drove into the doctor's lot with a brand new M5! These cars make the A8 almost ordinary but I am still very happy with my car.

I travel back and forth from the US and the Philippines. My E430 is in the States and my Range Rover is in the Philippines. I make better use of them that way given the conditions. I contemplated shipping my E430 here but it would cost me the amount of another one after all the tax, registration, and liceanses... im working on it though. :D :D :D BTW, i saw here in Forbes a yellow F360 Modena and the other night a red F360 Modena at Venezia. Now thats a fortune! I am so envious!.... soon enough i will have my silver F360 Modena Spyder.. now thats my ideal car! :D :D :D

Yup, 600 will be imported into the US. Too much money for me though - my A8 will have to do at least for the next 2 to 3 years. And if rumors are true, the S6 and the S4 Avant are to follow.
The S8 though is an awesome car - one of those "if you had to have one vehicle for everything and for all seasons" kind of car.

great car, Z28's. the LS1 is a great engine: 5.7 liter V8 puting the smackdown with 310 ponies and 340 pounds of twist. great for laying down twin black streaks of rubber several hundred feet long.
no gizmo-actuated variable-valve timing, no overhead cams, no independent rear suspension, no BS. honest to goodness low-tech pushrod power.
great price too. less than $20US. nothing faster out of the box for that price than a camaro.
aaah...i love the smell of burning rubber in the morning.
I thought this is about an Ideal car? Most cars listed here are "dream cars", not ideal cars.. hehe

devlish_smile: great ride, your audi. good power from a turbo 4-banger. getting the quattro just makes the cake sweeter. gets great gas mileage too. it’s going to help, especially with the predicted gas price increase over the next couple of months.
ambition, ambiente or advance?
the suv world suffers from the same fate as any other mass marketed product out there. with a heritage stretching all the way back to the world wars, GM has so firmly entrenched its brand of suv’s that people tend to refer to most suv’s as “jeeps”. sort of like going to the store to buy “colgate” when they want toothpaste, or “coke” when they pine for a can of soda.
your JGC is one of the best suv’s out there. it sure as heck ain’t no poseur truck. ever done off-roading in it?

the jeep isn't as tough on the wallet as the audi, but i guess it's because i'm in north america (sowee, i forgot this site is run from the phils). plus, it helps to split the expenses with the family..teehee... of course that means having to share, but that's alright.

i absolutely agree. in my mind, nothing beats german engineering. porsche, bmw, benz, audi and vw, to name a few, have really developed fine reputations in the automobile industry. even if you drive these cars in stock form, the performance, safety features and styling are truly exceptional. once you've driven a german automobile, it is really hard to drive anything else (or do i mean "less").

i see that you have yet to encounter the gremlins and the quibbles of owning a german vehicle.
it's true that the germans know how to build great cars, but reliability is still below that of the japanese.
in less than a year, my krautmobile has had all sorts of weird problems. don't get me wrong, it drives like a wet dream. but couldn't they at the very least have made these "driving machines" a bit more reliable?
just make sure you've got the cash handy after that warranty of your runs out. german built parts (and labor) cost an arm and a leg.
it's true.

you can route orders for a nissan skyline through motorex inc. they are at 20695 South Western Ave #116 Torrance, CA 90501. tel: (310)224-5085
a 2000 V-spec can be had for $89,500. its a genuine, honest to goodness, for real nissan skyline. these cars meet US DOT and EPA specifications.
you've got to deal with a right hand drive though.
for that much money, i'd sink my moolah into an ///M5.

The ideal car that I know I can afford in the future is the BMW 5 series... a BMW 530 or 540 to be exact... with Sport Package (suspension, 17-in rims, etc), Bi-Xenon Headlights and Luxury Package (Sound System, Sunroof, etc). (haha... i "built" my own in the bmw website).
Ideal coz its not too expensive (less than $50k), can be a family car, and has excellent performance and resale value. (high cost of maintenance, but that can be expected anyway).
In the meantime, Im perfectly content with my current car. :)

Ideal coz its not too expensive (less than $50k), can be a family car, and has excellent performance and resale value. (high cost of maintenance, but that can be expected anyway).
In the meantime, Im perfectly content with my current car. :)
Definitely a great choice. Can't go wrong with the 5. I've heard the redesign for the new 5 is going to incorporate some of the design themes off of the new 7, including the controversial bigh-beltline trunk lid.

You must mean the Mercedes SLK (Sportlich <sporty> -- Leicht <light> -- Kurz <short>). This is a great car!
Also, the green shade paint that you're talking about is more popularly known as "British Racing Green". Wonderful color, very classy!
I agree: A British-Racing-Green MB SLK would certainly make an ideal car! :)
