We were on a bus to Becol once and while the bus was in the mountain ,the damn thing caught on fire!!
The driver stopped and discovered that the flames were coming from the wheel.
Apparantley there was no fire fighting equipment but alas it was not needed, The driver unzipped his zipper and pissed all over the damn wheel.
The fire was still going though, untill the co driver donated what he had!!
Eventually the flames died, and the trip was resumed.
20 mins later, once again smoke was everywhere. We stopped once more, and the driver went outside to inspect. The wheel was in flames again but unfotunatley the two drivers had nothing left in there bladders.
I couldnt believe my ears when they walked back on the bus and requested donations of urine from willing passengers!!!
Only in da pilipines.......

GRABE! napa-ihi ako sa katatawa http://www.pinoyexchange.com/lol.gif
my experience naman went like this: it was a pleasant saturday .. :D.. we accompanied a group of college studs from PAC (ata yun) around the Makiling Forest Reserve (specifically, BSP). We were about to round a very steep, S-curve when the steering axle broke (that thing that controls the wheels). Nawalan ng control yun driver sa wheels kaya napunta kami sa edge ng bangin. Fortunately, meron guard rails, unfortunately, malambot yun soil sa tabi ng asphalt road. So there we were with the bus leaning towards the bangin. The students actually jumped to one side of the bus. Most of them were crying. Our companions from the other bus came and coaxed all of us to pass thru the bus windows, which we did. We were all shaken up, with bruises (i don't even recall how i got mine) but we were all alive. The students were all complaining about the driver who, according to them, have been in a foul mood since the start of their trip ... still gives me the shivers everytime i remember. brrrrr...
Gumacanian: they should've asked the females to take off their clothes! I'm pretty sure maraming magvo-volunteer na kalalakihan... :D
Yun nga lang magiging napakalagkit nung gulong http://www.pinoyexchange.com/lol.gif well, colloids are good coolant, though :D

That sounds horrific!! I`m glad you made it out ok though!!
Its about time that public transport was modernised instead of these greedy bus companies purchasing second hand stock from abroad. Also Im a great believer that drivers should not be paid on a "per trip basis".

Ditto. I don't know the going rates of drivers in the private business but gov't drivers get perdiem of P300/day which is not much considering this amount is for food, accomodation, etc. Toll fees are reimbursible, though, but the head of the party usually pays for this. Mahirap talaga buhay ngayon. Kapit sa patalim ang mga Pinoy. Kahit ano papasukin para kumita. I don't think there's something wrong with second-hand as long as it's properly maintained. Kailangan lang gisingin itong mga bus companies sa social and environmental responsibilities nila. I went to Manila recently, thick as ever ang smoke. Ilan-hundred meters ang visibility. I think it's getting worse. But, I digress, anyway I always consider bus rides to MM a health hazard. I always get this headaches and stuffy nose.

It was a trip from Baguio. I was with my whole family with all my first cousins, too. We were making a turn at Edsa. Suddenly as I look into my window, I saw this bus coming from the left side. It was obvious that our bus and this bus would hit each other but with strong impact. And not any of the bus drivers were taking it slow! To make it worse, I calculated that it would directly hit me. I thought I was the only one who saw it coming until my sister and I chorused in saying, "ahhhhh..." We even closed our eyes! After a few seconds, we opened our eyes and saw that the other bus was moving smoothly and not towards our direction. Thank God we were spared! That really made me so nervous! Maybe all our angels were there coz if not, I wouldn't be able to post here any longer.

This happened in EDSA. The bus I was riding in accidentally hit another bus and took off its side mirror. The driver of my bus didn't get out and apologize since he reasoned that the other bus came out of nowhere. We went on and a few minutes later, the bus which we hit overtook us and cut us off, neatly taking the side-mirror of my bus! (precision driving, a side-mirror for a side-mirror! ) Eh di nagalit yung driver namin. hinabol yung isang bus.. sasaksakin daw niya yung driver.. lalo pa siyang ginanahan nung nakita niyang girl yung konduktor nung isang bus..

We used to travel from manila to Angeles now and again on the philippine rabbit.......Warning...Never...ever sit in the back seats on the normal busses. The suspension is non existant and when we hit a join(bump) in the road , we flew up and hit our heads on the roof!! That must be a 3ft jump...and it makes your head hurt....OWCH..Damn driver!
