there are only six true supermodels - Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer and Christy Turlington. What do u think of their decline and *** do u think of the existence of these girls? Who is your fave supermodel? Any views about them?

I think Naomi, Cindy, Linda, Claudia, and Christy are part of the "original supermodels" cast - they are tall (at least 5'9, if i'm not mistaken) and curvy, and they attained superstardom as models at about the same time. Kate Moss, however, is considered a "waif" (along with the likes of Shalom Harlow and Emma Baflour, etc.). The waifs (who are skinnier, less curvy, but generally shorter...Kate Moss is only 5'7) took over the supermodels when the trend shifted to "waifish" figures in modelling.

I think all of them are supermodels in their own right, but my favorite is Christy Turlington. Her beauty is timeless and classic. I haven't seen an ugly picture of her!

Of the 'true' supermodels, i like Christy Turlington. She's just gorgeous plus she graduated from NYU with a philosophy degree. Not too shabby. My personal favorite nowadys is Gisele Bundchen. Her body is WOW. Kahit hindi ako lesbian, napapatingin ako sa kanya. I also like Carmen Kass and Caroline Ribeiro. I went to a go-see for Calvin Klein just last week and i was so impressed with these girls. They can really make the clothes groove. Mapapabili ka.

and about the decline of the Supermodel, i think the designers want a lot of personality in modelling their clothes. that's why for some time now, they pick actors and actresses to do campaigns for them. They want their clothes to evoke the emotion they envisioned for the collection. one campaign i just love is the marc jacobs bags one. it has sofia coppola in it. it looked so cool and pixie-ish. I've always wanted to be a model though i lack an inch more to my height(i'm just 5'8) and of course, i ain't skinny at all. The existence of supermodels or model culture per se is actually scary when you really think about it. When you're 5'11 and a size 0, that's dreadful. It means you're not healthy in anybody's book and you need to eat. I'll stick to being kikay and fashionista nalang :D

trinity! you can be a model! kate moss is only 5'7, and not all models are skinny... all you need is the right attitude and ofcourse, the ubiquitous prerequisite: the X-FACTOR!

you're in N.Y. right? why not give it a try...who knows...

when i was younger, i was offered to do several VTRs for commercials, but i wasn't allowed by my parents. my dad didn't like the idea...baka daw mag-showbiz pa ako. :eek: as if! now that i'm old already (late twenties...heheh), i wish i'd at least given it a try. i know im not supermodel material, and never will be...but i think modelling can be fun, it can give you more self confidence, and can open up many opportunities - travelling/ seeing the world, meeting interesting people, etc. so what im saying is, while you're young, why not give it a try? you've got nothing to lose! :D

Like trinity, my favorite model's Christy Turlington. She is just sooo pretty. I'm a CK fan coz of her :) I also like Laetitia Casta..wow din!

AMong the male supermodels, well..my all time favorite's Marcus Schenkenberg (need i say more?) Kaya lang parang he's too perfect looking (well most models are). I like the Hugo Boss model, I don't remember his name though. Yon di siya mukang perfect, he's kinda rugged..u guys know who the hell i'm talking about? :)

I'm a fan big fan of Christy Turlington. Her looks are classic and very unvcersal. She could even pass for a mestiza Filipina. Sobrang ganda niya, the mannequins in the Metropolitan Museum of Art were patterned after her! It's nice, too, that she does not smoke, and in fact is a spokesperson for a non-smoking sector in the States.

Aside from her, I also like Shalom Harlow, Trish Goff, and (minsan) Claudia Schiffer.

I don't know...A lot of them give false ideals for men and women. Not all men and women can wear what they are wearing, dress as good or have the body structure.

Why do you think there are a lot of anorexics, bulimics, steroid addicts and so forth? Part of this was spurned by the desire to look like a supermodel.

i LOVE supermodels as well!!!im a super fan of the runway. are there any other guys who replied to this topic? anyways, female models? I LOVE Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Iman, Nadja Auermann, Irena Pantaeva, Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Tyra Banks, Shalom Harlow, Rebecca Romjin-Stamos...and the list just keeps on getting longer. Guy models? Although they don't earn as much as the girls, they are definitely HOT too. I like Scott Barnhill, Mark Vanderloo, Joel West, Antonio Sabato Jr. Whew! It's gettin hot in here! Supermodel decline? I don't think so...

i like rebecca romjin-stamos, she's so pretty , but nothing compares to gisele bundchen's bod!!!...i mean...wow!!! how do you get a body like that? but my favorite is claudia schiffer, she looks really sexy in anything. among the male models, antonio sabato jr, and tyson beckford, you wouldn't find anyone sexier than him.

the name of the model of Hugo Boss is Alex Lunqvist!!! He's rugged and has a well-defined face cause of the bone structure. and mark vanderloo is married to the muse of dky - spanish model esther canadas.

sorry, don't have a fave among the female. although if i had one, it would be christy turlington as well. and yeah, she quit smoking and became an active participant in the anti-smoking campaign after her dad died of lung cancer. :(
