it's a nice place, although you have to deal with major butt pain. it's a 13-14 hour ride from manila.
is it really spooky? i don't think so...

Kung galing ng Maynila, eight hours ang biyahe papuntang Pagudpud. Medyo malayo pero sulit na sulit naman kasi ang ganda ng beach! Many tourists are already visiting the place. When you go to Pagudpud for the nth time, be sure to have an idea of where to stay. Try to make prior arrangements and/or room reservations to totally enjoy your stay.
I recommend you to take a look also at the topic . . . a place to stay and enjoy with "The Viewty and the Beach".

My friends and I are planning to go to Pagudpud next month. Where's the best place to stay? Our travel agent recommended that we stay in Villa del Mar Resort. But we were thinking of staying in Fort Ilocandia and then just drive to Pagudpud during the day.
How is it compared to Boracay???

i suggest u try panzian(?) resort. something like that. great place. then u can drive to the so-called blue lagoon. lapit lang din sa resort. then from there u could arrange some trips to waterfalls and forests. pwede rin diving and snorkelling if you try asking around.
good place:)

I have never been to Boracay so I can not compare Pagudpud to Boracay. But listening to comments ng mga bumibisita dito na naggaling na sa Boracay, Pagudpud is at par. Yung nga lang nasa development stage pa lamang ang Pagudpud, but cleaner naman ito compared to Boracay.
You can visit also the place regardless of travel agent. In this case nakakatipid kayo. Make a reservation directly to our place. It is called Terra Rika beach resort (adjacent to Villa del Mar). If you are interested, contact me at my e-mail address and I will provide you contact persons & contact numbers.
See you!

Pagudpud isnice.. But I know a place further up north that'll catch everyone's fancy. Just a few minutes away from Pagudpud. The sight is simply majestic!! Specially when you see the sun set.. It's the upper end of the Philippines anyway. Just travel through the highway to Cagayan. You won't miss it!

Pagudpud is overrated!
the PEx Outdoor Club was there during the holy week and we were disappointed....
imagine travelling for 12-14 hours and upon reaching there this
is what you get.....
the beach was not as beautiful as what people say.....
the sand is not as white as what travel magazines would suggest ....
it was full of seaweeds and the swimming area is to small in
relation to the number of tourist staying there....
the place they call boracay of the north is full of jellyfish
w/c can coz itchyness
the food is expensive considering the place is not that beautiful
and if ur not booked in the resort you can't just order food they prioritize the people who are staying in their resort, u have to wait if their food supply is more than enough to serve their visitors...
the only consolation we got was the beautiful sunset and the evening sky
the trip is not worth it

pagudpod is overrated?
maybe you don't know where to go. nagpunta ka ba dun sa blue lagoon? siguro mga 1 hour na rough (as in rough) roads ang dadaanan mo before ka makapunta doon.
did you even try to visit historical places on your way to pagudpod? i'm sorry for you. u missed the good places.

its not because i dont know where to go...

its because ive been to much better places
and pagudpud is not on my top ten list
try visiting different places here in the country
to understand what im saying

o kaya hire kayo ng bangka to take you to the boracay of the north...dun mas matino ang beach... wag lang sana maraming jellyfish katulad nung nagpunta kami....

spent 2 days in pagudpud 2 weeks ago :tourist:..overnite in our own tents. i canīt remember the name of the resort, but itīs between villa del mar and saud beach resort. no seaweeds, the beach was clean and you can almost do everything...aside na pag-gusto mong mag-hilatag ng towel or play on the beach ground of saud beach resort, paalisin ka ng security nila :grrr:....malinis at maganda ang saud beach resort. the pagudpud beach :sunny: is very long, malalakad at malinis, the water is crystal clear :bluefish:. the local residents are nice and the bangkeros. we were actually staying in laoag. if you have your own private vehicle, better combine your trip to pagudpud with a visit to vigan, batac, laoag and paoay. all of these places are in ilocos.. we did...and it was not only an "adven-tour" and load of fun...also educational.

Just came from Pagudpud yesterday. Wow ang ganda! Not just that but the whole Ilocos province is very nice. You don't have to spent 14 hours in a vehicle to go there. You can take the Cebu Pacific flight (PAL doesn't fly there) and it will only take you 50 minutes. We stayed at Fort Ilocandia, and whoa, was I impressed!! It's very very picturesque and the atmosphere is so tranquil, and it's a 5 star hotel so all the comforts are there. There's an olympic-size pool, pool with waterfalls and beach at the back of the hotel. As for Pagudpud, we arranged for a tour and so we just spent one day there but it was worth it...White sand, very very clear and clean blue-green water. It is not land locked so you are really swimming in China Sea..But shempre I couldn't help but compare it to Boracay...Boracay's sand is much finer and Pagudpud's water dips sharply after only a few meters from the beach. However, since Boracay is now veeeerrryyy congested, Pagudpud for me is a perfect find. I can enjoy peace and quiet and I can have clear blue waters like in Boracay. On your way to Pagudpud you should also stop to get the most mouth-watering soft biscocho in town (in Pasuquin town) and visit the beautiful but run-down lighthouse by the ocean. But Ilocos Norte is a very beautiful town that you shouldn't miss to check out. Now I know where Marcos spent his money. Go north, guys!! It's worth it!!

i agree with you :D the beach in pagudpud wasn't all that great but then it's a perfect find in the north. and to add to that, you can still go to other towns for sightseeing..
we practically passed by a lot of provinces going there.. we jumped off from baguio going to tuguegarao (spelunking adventure :glee: ) .. then off to pagudpud for swimming.. then to laoag and vigan for sightseeing.
and we went to the so-called blue lagoon/maira-ira.. same clear blue waters and more private.. not too many people go there so you can pretty much do anything you want

We went to Saud beach 2 summers ago. Grabe it was sooooo nice. For 3 days we practically escaped civilization (walang cellphone signals!). The beach was soo perfect (white sand, sobrang konti yung tao) and the food was superb! I wouldn't mind going back there (although mas okay kung mag-eeroplano na lang kme...masakit sya sa pwit).
