As far as restaurants are concerned, I recommend Cafe Ysabel along P. Guevarra in San Juan. It's an old Spanish house that's been converted into a restaurant. It's got high ceilings and wooden floors. The place is quite beautiful at night with a garden up front, candlelit tables, etc. The food and service is also pretty good.

i know that place milkoid's talking about... i agree.... romantic talaga... or gusto mo sa melo's sa may abscbn.... kasi during sundays konti talaga ang tao...as in...minsan nga e..kayo lang ang customers...and the setting is romantic too... fine dining.... but melo's doesn't come cheap.....

It's not the place that makes a date romantic, use your imagination na lang. Even Baclaran can be romantic as long as you're a bit creative and at the same time daring ;)

Hi kupriks! I don't know if uve heard of Uno (it's located somewhere in Timog... i think..). The atmosphere is really cozy cos the place is small and simple. Try their flourless chocolate cake... you and your girlfriend will LOVE it!

You have time --- try going to Josephines in Tagaytay they serve good Filipino food and the ambiance is really nice overlooking the taal volcano . And the place is cozy too.

i agree w/ u valerie, medyo dim yung lights niya tapos malamig especially at night. romantic. kaso di ba mahal doon?
Second the motion ako kay Valerie. I love Josephine's in Tagaytay. It's cold, it's quiet, the garden's huge and has a great view (nako, sarap makipag-HH etc. sa garden nila!), and ambiance is great. It's the stuff good memories are made of. :)

well, i have to agree with Peps, Sonia's Secret Garden tops it all. wala lang parang feeling mo kasi you're the only two people on earth and time stops pag nandon ka. especially if medyo drizzling pa yung weather. wowee!!! major cuddle up time. :)

You should try those small cafes in Intramuros. Definitely romantic. It's better though if you go there when it's not raining so that you can dine al fresco.

well......if u just wanna talk and hang out....i'd say intramuros (not at noon ok?)...u can just sit on top of the 'inclines' (sori ha, am using what we used to call it) and watch the busy manila area get dark...then u can probly visit some museums...eat at some cafe there...go to church there...like manila cathedral or san agustin... :)
or....paco park is also nice...it used to be a cemetery pero it is so.....romantic....and it's so secret... :) lolz...actually, it's ideal for weddings...
sigh.....kelan kaya ako date ulit... :(

Sonia's Secret Garden in Tagaytay
Dinner is at a gazebo in a very pretty garden that accommodate 2 to 8 people. Sonia accommodates only 1 group at a time so that means it's only you and your date. The food is great -- her special salad dressing and pasta are to die for.
Hey PePs...question lang...
me and my BF have been looking for Sonia's Garden for quite some time. Pero nde parin namin nakikita! so could you puhlez tell me where exactly it is in Tagaytay? Thanks! :shy: :D

i guess u hav to go to a place where u can talk 2 each other well. i think it's not really good to bring ur date to a bar or restaurant coz mostly puro maingay na ngayon unless the girl wants to go there.. the most romantic pa rin would be watching the sunset or maybe walking on the beach or a bonfire. sweet, isn't it? ;)

I went to Baclaran's Sea Side Market recently with some friends. Kasama pa si The Rock. Sea Side Market is a palengke (but it's actually clean and well-lit). The mechanics are very interesting: you buy your seafood fresh and go into one of those tiny restaurants where they cook the food according to how you want it. The chili crabs are to die for. And don't worry, some restaurants are actually airconditioned. I think it's the atmosphere that makes the experience very memorable. After all, romantic dining places can be quite cliche sometimes- candlelight and the whole caboodle.
Word to the wise though: avoid open-toed sandals, no-fuss dressing recommended for this no-frills dining experience.
