I'm using a Globe 0916 number that is the same as my landline number. Ex: My Globe is 09167891234 and my land line number is (02)7891234. This is to make my numbers easy to remember. However, my Globe user friends are complaining that when they call my landline number (027891234), my cellphone number answers. When they just type in 7891234, it contacts 0917 7891234, who I absolutely have no connection with, except that he is really pissed with me coz a lot of my friends are calling him.
That's technology for you! *peace*

pag 0917 lang yung area code gumagana yan...
if matagal na kayong globe users like below year 2000 pa... if your area code is 0917... you can omit the 0917 tapos matatanggap ng number.
ex.. my number is 0917000000... if i send something to 0917111111... pwede ko isend sa 111111 lang... matatanggap

ang curious ako... if 0916 yung area code... pag nagtext or tawag sya sa 0916.... pwede ba nya iomit?
alam nyo ba pag smart ang number nyo (0918) pag inomit nyo yung 0918... it will dial the 7 digit number as a landline not a cellphone.. ex 0918000000... if you dial 000000... it will dial a landline na 000000 ang number

your phone will automatically use your own area/mobile code (910, 915, 916, 917, 918, 919, etc) when you omit the area code in the recepient's number.
if your number is (917) 123 4567 and you text/call 987 6543, 917 will be assumed to be the area/mobile code of the recepient.
if your number is (918) 123 4567 and you text/call 987 6543, 918 will be assumed to be the area/mobile code of the recepinet.
and by the way, the zero (0) is not part of the area/mobile code but is actually the domestic long distance access code. so when you hear, "the area code is 02..." you understand that zero there is the domestic long distance access code.
wonder why PLDT made it more confusing that how it is supposed to be. hehehe
