Why do i smoke?
is it because my lifestyle requires it or its just a fine way to let loose pressures.

In a smokers point of view, there is a time event and certain age u vow in quitting...what and when can/could it be???
:)

Why would your lifestyle require it?
Don't you smoke because it's pleasurable to do so?

let's face it. it's addicting! the taste, the (foul) flavour...even just the feel of it on your fingers! i haven't had a stick in 3 weeks. i've gone without for longer periods of time but then i'd get the urge...oh well. i figure it's better than smoking regularly!

Hmmm.. I guess I'll quit when I want to. As of now, I'm still enjoying this vice. There's something soothing in holding a stick in your hand and inhaling nicotine...

only when i'm sad or bothered. its probably to satisfy the need to do something destructive. the same way people break things when they're emotionally wrecked. by smoking, i'm actually destroying my body. twisted noh?

Hindi mo talaga mafi-feel ang SATISFACTION pag HITHIT-BUGA ka lang.

But when you inhale deeply the wonderful taste of that Marlboro Lights menthol, you will feel that smoking is the MOST wonderful pasttime-vice/hobby of all time!

It mixes with your blood.. goes to your brain, and you forget all that tension!

I love smoking especially when programming or developing websites.. it relaxes my mind and helps me come up with more creative designs.

smoking after sex is great too.

I don't see myself ever quitting yung smoking habits ko!

If ever i feel tense or stressed or even being bored, nag-smoke nalang ako. For those who is starting, yung mga hit-hit buga palang, learn how to smoke the right way kasi hindi kasing sarap yung totoong buga!

Right now, i need a smoke! It's been half a day na ako hindi nakaka smoke!!! Sumisigaw na ng nicotine yung system ko!!! :)

My friends smoke for so many different reasons:
Helps them deal with the pressure from Law and Business School, They need to take a crap after a full meal, It gives them an untouchable image when seen holding a stick. To each their own. Anyway, to quit, you gotta do it cold turkey. Good Luck

Why do I smoke? Because I can't stop anymore...hope I could quit one of these days!

Why did I start smoking? Wala lang...curious lang kasi ako kasi nung high school ako, madami akong kaibigan na nagyoyosi sa loob ng banyo...

When do I plan to quit? Hmmmm...bahala na! :smokin:

I tried my first stick when I was in the 7th grade... I never touched it again till I got in college & it became a regular thing. I guess its cause I had really long breaks between classes and didn't have anything better to do while at the tambayan. When I started working, my smoking continued 'cause its really cold in our building.

I'm trying to quit now simply because I've gotten tired of it & for some strange reason, I can't stand its taste anymore.

i actually went up to my room and grabbed a stick after seeing this thread! :D well it's really hard to quit. once your body gets used to it, it will crave for nicotine. nicotine is a very addicting substance.

if you quit instantly, there will be withdrawal symptoms and it will be tough for the person to breathe and sleep and all. i'll try to quit when i'm 30 yrs old but gradually lang. :smokin:

on a related note....

phycchologists research showed that a large chunk of why people start getting hooked into smoking is because they want to relieve themselves of stress. this came about because as they were children, they were conditioned that putting something into your mouth whenever you have a problem makes the problem go away. for example, nung mga bata raw tayo, pag umiiyak raw tayo, our mom would just shove a milk bottle, a pacifier, our own fingers, or a lollipop on our mouths so that we can shut up. this conditioning carried on up until we grow up kaya a lot of people shove stuff in their mouths whenever they are stressed like pigging out, drinking alcohol, giving head (funny, but true), and smoking cigarettes.

SMOKING CIGARRETTES . IT MIXES WITH YOUR BLOOD, IT STAYS IN YOUR SKIN AND THAT YOU WILL BE ADDICTED. YOU KEEP ON SMOKING BECAUSE YOU HAVE BEEN ADDICTED TO IT. YOU TRIED TO QUIT BUT THE EFFORT IS NOT ENOUGH. THEN YOU JUSTIFY IT BECAUSE IT IS RELAXING AND THEN ONE DAY YOUR COUGHING, UNTIL ONE DAY YOU R DOCTOR TELLS YOU THAT YOU HAVE A LUNG CANCER. I ONLY SMOKE WHEN EBAKING HIHIHI.

:smokin::smokin::smokin:

medically speaking, smoking is addicting because of it nicotine content. but nuff of the crap! i smoke not because of peer pressure or because its "fly". MACHARAP KASI EH! kung bagong kain!pag inum ng beer! lalo na kung nag chi-chill out session ako! i just put on my incognito, brand new heavies and d'sound cds and light up my cigarette while drinking hot/cold coco drink....... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh.... easy! this is life. or while watchin parliament syndicate or next level on a friday night! jazz ang my luckies or west lights really meant to be together. or sittin on a siesta chair sa boracay while hearing "brazasia" by yutaka.....hooooooooh heaven! paradise on earth.

they say that it relieves stress. but me? stressed out or not, i smoke. my ninong/doctor whose a smoker himself say: nasa tao yan! kung kaya ba naman yung usok eh." my lola smoked (she quit at age 54) 2 packs of luckies a day. now shes 83 at malakas pa! nagmamajong pa sya hanggang 4am!

basta kung may naramdaman ka na na hindi maganda, LAYLO muna! pag ok na uli, PAUSBOK ULIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!:blowsmoke:

i used to smoke also, but as a form of temporary "relief" to stress and pressure.. but soon enouhg it started to take its toll on me. My teeth were becomming yellow, my lips were getting darker, and my stamina started to fade, that i couldn't last as long as i did in a basketball game. The only possitive effect in me was psychologically.. which obviously wasn't a favorable odd compared to what i was losing.

it's been a year since my last stick and I feel terrific, from the accomplishment and the beneficial effects.. my lips returned to their natural color, have whiter teeth (with the help of the dentist), and regained my stamina.

but of course, it wasn't easy getting out of the habit and i tried a lot of stuff, sometimes even a combination of them. one neat trick i tried was closing my eyes whenever i'd smoke. I realized that my inability to see the smoke whiskering away from my mouth greatly affected it's pleasure.. well that's one way.

pero when it comes to dubbie, that's a different story..

i dunno....

***** when i get married, i'll try to quit...
i don't want my kids seeing me smoke.
ok lang if they know i smoke, pero i don't want them to see
me actually smoking.
if they want to smoke, ok lang...
it's their decision.
pero i'd be there to guide them pa rin..
