I brought one with me).
I had Ms. Cely cut my hair and I'm really not satisfed with the outcome. Next time I really had to try Amy Alvarez. Kelan ba off niya? Baka kasi wala siya pag pumunta ako eh.

Personally?
I'd go to any salon as long as the interiors are kept either masculine or neutral. The moment a palengkera stylist greets me, that's it.
That said, at the moment, I go to Azta Salon in Katipunan. I like this salon coz they have a 3-day "fix me up" guarantee. Meaning, if some parts of your hair look off, you can have it trimmed free of charge. My stylist is Cris.
As for tipping, I go 15% of the price of the haircut for the stylist. Then 10% for the assistant/s. Don't worry, they aren't expecting a tip.

Last time I had a trim here was in late 1996, before I left Manila. At David's in Greenbelt (the one near Max's). Went to one recently at their branch at Ever Gotesco Commonwealth given its distance to my parents' house. Asked for the most senior stylist and told her to just gimme a trim and follow the existing style. Quite funky a la Harajuku, courtesy of my stylist in Singapore. Big mistake. I ended up telling her what to do - every step of the way. And I was also quite shocked that salons here (or is it just David's) don't have wax and/or clay. Never mind the famous salons in Orchard Road, even those complete unkowns in the backstreets of Tsim Sha Tsui have these. I'll check out Azta next time.

Rico Gallegos of Bench Fix @3/F Glorietta 2. Good, especially with textured, layered styles for medium-length hair (think of their model Rainier C). I also recommend Cornelio Alvarez at Fix G4.

Hi guys!

Huhu..

Backstage Salon is located along Pasong Tamo Ext. near EDSA. It's behind Workstation, which is across Levi's. A cut costs around 350 bucks.

Yung tipong parang uneven cutting yung ginagawa.
im in singapore kasi so hindi ko mashado maexplain dun sa stylist. i had m first haircut here, di ko mashado nagustuhan :(
would clean cut be the right term? although i wouldn't want a barber's cut. please help :mecry:

actually IMOHO (In My Own Honest Opinion), when I tried bench fix salon (kahit anong branch pa -kahit sm fairview pa).. the haircut is good and they will try to cut your hair to suit your face.
So I'm satisfied.
2. I tried David's Salon, they're also good I think.... I was satisified with how they cut the hair....( i guess i have to go there more frequently to test them more, kasi nga may mga negative feedback din)
3. Has anyone tried Ricky Reyes salon (for men)? I think they're also good. I've been there for about 5 times already....
4. Has anyone TRIED the BENCH FIX SALON branch at ABS-CBN building in Eugenio Lopez drive...(ok ba dun??) it's near the pbb house...

i used to go to PRANAV in galleria but since i work here in abs, i just go na lang sa the loop where bench fix is located.
yeah they're good and they service the stars. so if you wanna have tete-a-tete with some kapamilya celebrities, you might want to have your hair cut here. it's cheaper here compared pranav, basecut and salon de orient (i used to go to those salons) but service and style is practically the same.

I am turned off by F salon in Greenbelt 3. I had my haircut there last week. I'm not going to mention who did my hair, but she's one of the frequently suggested stylists in this thread. She has done my hair before, and I thought she was good. However, my second and last visit proved to be a disappointment:
Disappointment No. 1: Her attitude. I really think that hairstylists should NEVER bash or quarrel with another hairstylist or any of their co-workers while doing their client's hair. Aside from the fact that it's rude, it distracts them from their work.
Disappointment No. 2: The quality of her work. I do not know if the above point was partly to blame for this. I've been having the same hairstyle for some months now but by a different stylist in another salon in Greenbelt. But the one hour that other hairstylist painstakingly took to perfect my haircut, it only took the stylist from F salon about 30 minutes at most. It wasn't about the length of time, but the quality. I wouldn't have minded if it took her only 10 minutes to finish, but she was obviously rushing to get her work done.
Hope somebody from F salon would read this.

Ako po iplug ko lang stylist ko. I went to a barber's shop for about 14 years, pero when I got into a relationship, naintroduce sakin yung Red Salon. Agot name nung stylist ko, he does ask for P250, but he's worth it.
Though he's in Circles Salon na in Wilson Avenue ata in Greenhills. A couple of blocks away from Cardinal. :>
He'll give you so much attention, pero pag busy, babalik balikan ka lang nya. :> Pero malambing s'ya sakin. :>

I don't want a high maintenance haircut. Do you think he can do that? I went to tony and jackey festival once, my hairstylist wasn't Calvin because mine has bad English. :)

is amy really good of fix at G4? my bf is always in fix robinson's ermita whenever he would be having a hair cut. roger is his hair stylist. he's really nice. galing nya gumupit. kaya lang, my bf wants to try other salons. anyone here who has already tried at jesi mendez?
by the way, i'd just like to ask this. is the pixie cut of rihanna okay for guys? hahaha! i hope you don't find it gay. hahaha! yun kasi ang gusto kong hairstyle ngayon ng bf ko. hahaha! i know it sounds weird but, that's what i like eh. hahaha!
can I just ask how often do you have a haircut? once every ____ ? I haven't had a haircut for two months, I would actually want a back-to-school look but I don't think the current length of my hair is manageable enough.

Try One or Benj of Tony and Guy Essensuals Trinoma.
I had my short hair cut by One, and of all my experiences with other salons like Azta and Tony and Jackey, One's haircut is superb! His rate is 550php. Benj cut my bf's hair and it turned out great (although mahirap gupitan *** bf ko kasi he has thin hair). Benj's rate ata is 750php.
Mejo weird nga lang si One but he's kind naman. I'll visit again and try his cut again. Pahabain ko muna maybe a month.
On treatments, mas mura sa Azta kaya dun ako nagpapatreatment or color. And the service is great, un nga lang nagresign na stylist ko dun so lipat na ako ng Tony and Guy for my hair cut.

Taga Cebu ako, sinong makakapagsabi dyan kung OK ba ang Bench Fix Ayala dito? Sa tabi2x lang kasi talaga ako nagpapagupit eh, sa suki kong barbero (since I was in 6th grade pa). Madalas pinapa-trim ko lang buhok ko, tapos pinapakunan ko banda dito, banda doon, depende sa gusto kong "look," para ako nlang mag-style afterwards (with the help of some wax). Pero I want to try something new na. Sa mga Cebuanos dyan, what salon would you recommend? Yung affordable naman. I don't want to shell out 600 pesos tapos pangit pala yung haircut. Sa affordable na muna ako... First time pa eh.

I used to have my haircut sa tabi tabi lang. I was soo wrong. Having a good haircut really matters. For about three years now, I've been having my haircut in Jessi Mendez, Park Square 1, Glorietta. My stylist was Nemely. Kaso nag-abroad sya last January lang. My current stylist is Andrew. He is really good, if not better than Nemely. The other one that's good is Edgar. Look for them. Now I look so gwapo! hehe
Haircut for men is around 350 yata.

i go to acqua salon at trinoma for my haircut and treatment.
The prices are extraordinarily good sa acqua. The cut costs 280 for ladies, 230 for guys and 180 something yata for little kids. I recommend Joel. Nasa Trinoma branch sya ng salon. May boyfriend usually go there for his haircuts. OO nga pala, di dyahe pumasok sa loob ng salon kasi the designs are simple, actually zen-like.

Dati sa INDEX but things go downhill kaya I moved may bad experienced ako sa INDEX kaya kahit siguro mag tight yung budget ko di na ko dun babalik.
Ngayon, TONY & JACKEY lang ako nagpapabalik balik to have my hair cut.
Na-try ko na sa ARK mejo mas mahal dun parehas lang naman sa T&J kaya stick to T&J pa din ako.
Sa FIX na-try ko na din ok naman pero I usually go there pag mejo tight ang budget ko saka pag trim lang ang kelangan ko. But since once a month lang talaga ako or sometimes after 2 months ako nagkakatime magpa gupit due to so busy sked sa work.

Before, it was benchfix.. their work is good, kaso yung mga stylist kung ano ano inaalok.. and if you dont avail, ala papangitan ang gupit, either dadaplisan o itatabingi, pag kumuha ka naman, hala bawat gupit mo expect nila ganun na..
so under the advice of my sister, i went to ark salon, down at bel-air infront of cafe alba. a korean stylist, fluent in korean and japanese, will cut for you (Mr. Shin), tapos alam niya ang mga styles na babagay sayo, so everytime na gugupit ka, you can say you want it either long, short, wavy, spikey, you do the choice he does the cut. Kaso lumayas na si Mr. Shin
I moved to Tony and Jackey. They have a lot of branches but I have Jackey and Han do my hair. ok naman so far and they always do a great job styling long hairs. they also do mean short hairs.
both korean salons have filipino interpreters. kaya kahit di ka marunong magkoreano ayos lang. may iced tea din hehe
tapos ang ark, they charge 500 when it was with Mr. shin, not sure though how much they charge now. then sa tony and jackey they charge 300. (male cuts)

anyway, in my experience, ok sa essensuals trinoma

I don't receive any text updates anymore.

actually, it really depends sa stylist. i have had terrible experiences at other david's salon branches but ever since i discovered a particular stylist at david's salon market! market! three years ago, i never allowed another stylist to touch my hair again. although there was a time, since she was not around, that i was forced to render the services of her co-stylist SO nagpabalik-balik ako for two weeks dahil ayaw na sumunod ng buhok ko. hehe! :) so i really had to wait for her to return bago naayos 'yung buhok ko.
ang importante build a relationship with your stylist since parang fashion consultant mo na rin siya in the long run. ;)
and the best part is, i only pay Php 135.00. alagang-alaga pa ako. hehe! *okay*

Try growing out your hair more if you want to experiment with stylists. They just cut it the same every time if it is short. I used to go to bench fix pero pansin ko paulit-ulit lang din ang gupit ko and pareho lang din halos sa gupit ko sa barbero. I went back to my barber to save money.
