Drugstore make-up brands are those sold in drugstores in the US, such as: Revlon, Max Factor, Maybelline, Cover Girl, L' Oreal, Almay and Neutrogena. In the Philippines these are sold in department stores, but they're still not as expensive as the high quality make-up brands.

For the make-up experts out there, which of these brands would you recommend? Specifically, which products are comparable, or work even better, than the more expensive brands? (example: I've always heard that Maybelline makes great mascara, but I'm not a big mascara person so I wouldn't know)

hmmmm.....

for me, l'oreal is the best when it comes to eyeliners, max factor for mascara, almay and neutrogena for foundations, maybelline for eyeshadows, and revlon for lip glosses.

i used to buy drugstore cosmetics when i was in high school but after i got the job in college, i always go to sephora. but drugstore brands are still as good as the dept store ones but then you will have a problem in choosing foundation coz most of the products in drugstores don't have testers.

Neutrogena - - I like the "fine fairness" face powder.

Maybelline - the best mascara to date. :) I think it's impractical to throw away a tube of Mac mascara after three months, kaya, for this, I'd rather stick to Maybelline.

Rimmel makes good eyeshadows and blushers. I like L'Oreal for foundation and Almay for moisturizers.

In a pinch (i.e. you're nowhere near your house but you have a makeup emergency), almay's always a good bet for eye makeup, maybelline has the best mascara, revlon for blush and lip glosses. I pretty much stay away from neutrogena as i'm allergic to their stuff.
