what if mac cardona opted to stay with JRU in 2001?

in 2001 a mandaluyong native named mac cardona tried out with the JRU heavy bombers & was easily accepted but opted to transfer to DLSU just before the school year started for greener pasteurs.

the heavy bombers had a powerhouse line-up in 2001 with fajardo, ariel capus, attunaga, nani epondulan, wendell dela rea & mcdonald santos the JRU bombers easily made it to the finals & was favored to win it all but was upset by the younger SSC stags in game 3 of the NCAA finals.

would mac cardona been the difference & ended JRU's 20 years title drought?

We might have a chance. During that year 1999-2001 we had a lot of gunners but we dont have enough big men compared to San Sebastian. We only have Finuliar and Santos to handle the middle and sometimes Capus also played the center position. Cardona's inclusion to the Heavy Bombers will be an advantage especially in the post Epondulan-Capus era... and what if Benitez, Gatchalian, Estolano (NU), Espiritu (UE) & Borboran (UE) stick with the Heavy Bombers; siguro meron chance.

Problem is the academics of Benitez, Gatchalian & Espiritu and even Cardona is being investigated.... Sayang lang kung nag champion.

Mac Cardona was accepted by the JRU Heavy Bombers as a TEAM B player. And being in Team B, he was not entitled to a scholarship.
I'm from Mandaluyong and I have friends with the Cardona neighborhood. The people there would often joke at MAC MAC, saying he was not accepted at JRU. Although, he played for the JRU LIght Bomber during his freshman year before migrating to the US. His mother, got married to a fil-am and he along wiht the youngest was petitioned. The two other siblings was not petitioned due to age requirements.
