Isn't she great? Sabi nga sa likod ng mga books niya "Everybody reads Danielle Steel". I agree.
Her latest is Bittersweet (yata), but correct me if I'm wrong.
I've already read "Changes", "Heartbeat", "Wings", "The Ghost" and "Secrets".
How about you,peeps?

I'm not one of her fans.

I do read and enjoy reading her work. Kaso its not something that I could read all the time kasi SOBRANG tragic ng mga stories niya... madredrain ka sa ka-tragican! Minsan, parang over naman, pero, ang galing niya talaga mag-weave ng stories kaya bina-balikbalikan ko siya :D

I've read The Ghost, Family Album, Full Circle, Once in a Lifetime, Palomino, Loving, Fine Things, Kaleidoscope . I can't remember if I left something out.

I used to be a fan but I soon grew tired of her works...became too predictable for me...

Yup! I agree she's a great writer! I love her book Fine Things nakakatouch

Hmmm... her love stories are drastically drastic. Some even say that she's one of those "pot-boilers" (authors who write just so they have $$ to keep something boiling over the pot). *shrugs* I haven't really read a lot of her books, but seen some movies. I guess if you're a sucker for modern tragic romance, she one to look up.

I read a dozen or so of her books before I finally gave up on her. Her books are too predictable and too tragic. Also, I've never really liked romance novels so that's another reason why I stayed away from her.

Of all her books, I liked Kaleidoscope the best.

I read Danielle's books once in a while...they're nice if you like tragic stories. I do admit it gets to be too much to read 'cause it gives that heavy sort of feeling. I remember my sister commenting once when she saw me reading DS...she said something to this effect, "Achi, mahilig ka ba talaga jan? Ayoko masyado ng DS kasi nakakalungkot masyado yung storya. Masyadong makatotohanan yung unhappiness...yoko ng malungkot.."

Hehe...

I agree with Ada, Kaleidoscope is really very nice...

I like Kaleidoscope too, pero... like any of her novels, its sooooo soooo tragic! lahat ata ng kamalasan binigay na dun sa mga characters!

Nakakahiya mang aminin, iniyakan ko ang Kaleidoscope. *turns beet red*

I haven't tried reading any of her works yet....

I've seen her tele-movie PALOMINO though......

Aren't her works a little mushy?

Why should one try reading her books?

para sa'kin lang ha, the earlier books of danielle steel are the better works. yung mga bago kasi ngayon, parang hastily done. minsan, three books nare-release niya in just a year or so.

I used to read her novels pero nakaka bore na siyang magsulat. Besides she always writes that a woman is the weaker sex.

the first and last ds novel i've read was 'once in a lifetime'.......and i'm telling u (hope no one gets offended, though) it was such a waste of time. sabi nga ng kaibigan ko, masyadong deceiving ang mga reviews about ds. ibang iba ang image ko ng novel nito based sa mga reviews at sa mga nakasulat sa likod nito bago ko nabasa yng novel. although, maganda ang mga titles niya sa mga libro niya.......once in a lifetime, fine things, granny day, etc.
no offense sa mga ds fans.......

Silent Honor is the only book she authored that I read. I'm not really interested in reading anything else from her. The only reason I picked up her book from the library is because of the Japanese character design on the front cover :)

the promise and zoya.

almost complete ko na yung collection ko ng books nya. kulang na lang ng 3...

"People spend a lifetime looking for love, wanting it, needing it, seeking it, and most of the time they don't find it. But once in a while, once in a great while, it comes to you, it throws itself in your lap, pounds on your door, and says 'Here I am, take me, I'm yours.' When it comes, how can you turn away from it? How can you say, 'Not now, maybe later?' How can you take that chance, knowing that the opportunity may never come again?"

I read a lot of her books since high school but I really wasn't impressed. Mas memorable pa yung Mills and Boon books written by Carole Mortimer and Yvonne Whittal. Read DS' "Mirror Image" three years ago...It's about twins (i like stories about twins) but didn't even finish it. I read Full Circle but I really forgot it na.

So far, nabasa ko ang mga ito:

Fine Things
Kalaeidoscope
The Promise
Daddy
Family Album
The Ghost
and the one which seems like a love story aboard Titanic...

i really do like her books... maybe predictable but nonetheless touching...sensitive...:)

I don't like the way she writes. Sort of dragging and boring. Parang you can even skip some lines and not miss anything. Also very repetitive minsan ang pagdescribe niya ng certain situations.
Try reading SANDRA BROWN. I like the way SHE writes MORE.

if i remember it right, it was a story about bernard fine whose wife (i think the name was Elizabeth) died and then he was left with a child. he was really grieving since he loves Elizabeth so much until he finally met Sarah who turned his sad world into something bright.... un ata;)

i'm not a fan and i have one of her books (The Promise). Binigay lang sakin ng tita ko and i read it when there was nothing else to do... bored, ika nga.
pero it's ok naman. the story was nice.
kaso, do talaga ako mahilig sa romantic stories.
so, if anyone wants that book, just pm me. i can trade it for any detective story...

my all time favorite book of hers is Message from Nam. Most of Steele's books that I've read were too ...dramatic...almost like a soap opera you know, but Message From Nam is probably one of my most favorite books.

...the first DS book that I've read was Daddy. Everyone in my family was raving about it, I didn't like it much :D Then I saw the TV movie for it and then I saw it again years later and it was only then did I recognize Ben Affleck (one of his early gigs) playing Christopher.

I used to read Danielle Steel during highschool and early college. Like most of you, I read about 8 books coz I found her book really exciting and I got addicted. But the more books I read, the more I felt deceived. Her stories always begin in heartpounding series of events then towards the end, para na lang pinapahaba para maging novel. I finally got tired of her kase parang iisang tao na lang yung heroines nya, iba-iba na lang ang pangalan.

kaleidoscope fave ko na novel niya... maganda kung gusto mo umiyak... pero usually novels niya leaves issues unresolved at baket lagi na lang may nare-rape? and i don't like her characters' personalities... mas gusto ko magsulat si judith mcnaught.

the gift was my favorite novel from her... super ganda, it's not ur typical novel na puro love making, but rather it just touches ur heart ang galing. I love the ending as well, Danielle Steel didn't write to please the readers nor disappoint them, she just wrote... bsta the gift is a must read
